Belle de jour

Wonderful B&B We stayed only 2 nights but I wanted to move in for good. The apartment we had was gorgeous, exceptionally clean and spacious. Huge bed, gorgeous linen, so luxurious! Pod coffee in the room, so much nicer than instant I think. Breakfasts were wonderful, the best scrambled eggs I have ever had! Excellent coffee. There are stairs, so make sure you or your travel buddy is prepared for getting luggage upstairs, but the climb is sooooo worth it

Maybe the chef was sick on the specific day that we visited but I do not undestand the raving reviews about that restaurant. The quality of the ingredients was good but the food was bland and the portions were small. Service was friendly but failed to notice us every time we wanted to order additional bread or drinks. We ended up with a bill of 250€ for 2 persons (2 aperitifs, 2 menus, 1 bottle of wine and water). Rarely did I leave a restaurant in Belgium were I felt so disappointed in the price/quality ratio.

Cozy restaurant with ever changing menue. Fresh ingredients which are manipulated with skill. Always fish, vegetarian and meat option. Drinks are a bit pricey. Staff is welcoming and knows their products. Overall a big Oostende favorite of mine. Recommended also for individual dining.

Awesome atmosphere, really friendly staff, delicious locally sourced food, fantastic beer and wonderful manager! I can't remember when I felt so welcomed as I did walking into this restaurant. Had a lovely evening eating simply cooked delectable food and drinking extremely good beer as recommended by the manager - who went from table to table chatting and laughing with the customers. Atmosphere remained delightful the entire night. Oostende is a great town, but it's worth visiting just for this eatery. Plus the added comedy value of telling your friends you spent an evening at Belle De Jour.

Amazing food, some really novel flavour combinations + truly excellent service that made us and our 3 year old feel welcome - she even got her own amuse bouche ! Very much worth all 5 stars.

Super friendly and attentive staff with great wine knowledge. Great food, very fresh and nicely balanced out menu. Cosy atmosphere, would definitely return.

Was very good in both food, drinks and hospitality. Mostly fish dishes though. But the main meat option was very tasty as well. Keep it up!
