Ever since the state has taken over the island, it has been clean, ongoing improvements and most importantly safe again. It is a great place to enjoy walking, gathering, swimming or biking with your family and friends.

Very beautiful place to take a walk, jog, bike ride, have a cookout, enjoy wildlife, get on a boat, or just relax in general. The museum and garden are very beautiful and interesting. Unfortunately the aquarium was closed when I went but I'll be going back. You should definitely take some time from your busy schedule and enjoy life and nature here. I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

Always wanted to go there but a little bit underwhelmed, we must’ve came on a bad day because the grass was overgrown and looked a little sad. We found a paved trail and walked to the lighthouse. The water was beautiful.!

Belle Isle is a beautiful Michigan State Park located on the waterfront of the Detroit River. Since the state took it over the improvements are amazing. Be sure to visit the Belle Isle Aquarium and the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory. If you haven't been there in the last few years, it's a beautiful day trip. You need a Michigan State Park pass for entry.

If I come back to Detroit THIS is where I intend to come.
A Detroit must-see. Come prepared to pay $11 for the day or pay a yearly fee closer to $40-50--Which is well worth it if you are close.
Parking can be different, and not ideal if you have mobility issues but unclear what more can be done.
Bathrooms are widespread and also not the cleanest.
Recommend to come early.

What a beautiful park right in the city! I’ve enjoyed coming here for most of my life. Great spot to kayak, walk, run, bike & go for a swim. The beach is nice & lots to do.
