Okay let's be honest here, I give honest reviews on wherever I go and I've went to a lot of other hotels (both in Myanmar and outside Myanmar) before and this is actually our 3rd visit and it took me by surprise.
ADVANTAGES:
The overall area is quite spacious. The entrance was quite small so at first I was like "Okay, what's going on?" but the inside was super spacious and They had their own loungers which is set at the perfect place under the coconut trees where there'll always be a breeze waving at you. Extremely fantastic. There will also be friendly sellers waiting for you and I recommend buying from someone called "Ma Win" and "Ma Ei Mon"; they grill right in front of you and and if you try getting it in other countries, it'll be at least $500.
There's a mini shop right beside the reception and there's almost everything from sunscreens to bath bombs. They're set at decent prices and the brands are well-known too.
DISADVANTAGES:
I was in SHOCK reading the other reviews, there were barely any bad reviews! I even thought to myself "Are we even staying at the same hotel?" because the hotel clearly lacks A LOT.
Unfortunately, we couldn't obtain the sea-view rooms but we did get to stay in 3 of the 2nd sea-view rooms. There were mosquitoes EVERYWHERE and the furniture in each of the rooms were old. The room that my family stayed in, there was a basket which was moldy-- not even a bit but the entire surface. The sink was CRACKED and the water kept leaking. There were still hair from the previous visitor's stay in the bath tub and the whole room smelt weird from the moment we came in.
The other thing that the people weren't talking enough about was how MONEY GREEDY this hotel is. Just like I said before, I've stayed in hundreds of hotels among Asia and I've never saw a hotel not serving us cereal... A classic. Maybe because I'm just a teenager but waking up early in the morning to not eat cereal while staring at the sea is just brutal. I've never seen a hotel charging us 7000 kyats to get a CUP of MILK while you can get 2 Liters for just around 11000 kyats in Yangon. Is our room fee just an entrance fee? Because what do you mean a billiards/pools table, which should've been free, which was free in every hotel I stayed, charges us 10000 kyats for an hour? This is just purely ridiculous. Not only that, they also charges us 5000 kyats PER PERSON for a table. No utensils included. No plates included. No meals included. Just a set of plastic chairs and table costs us nearly 40,000 kyats per meal when we can easily get one portion of masala crab.
The last thing is how dirty the pool is. There were leaves in the pool that no staffs bothered themselves to clean it out of, The water was always cloudy instead of clearness and I got rashes after getting in the pool.
Anyways, I've learnt my lesson to never stay in this hotel again. Although there were good reasons to stay in this hotel, the bad reasons overlapped. I just wanted to share my experience and this can vary on different visitors. Only because this happened to me doesn't mean it will happen to you too and if you're the type of person to "Oh yeah, I can pay the extra charges" then yep, you do you.
