Who doesn't enjoy a good breakfast right next to magnificent boats, you cannot find this experience anywhere else in Newport, peaceful and serene, slightly windy. The food was good too, the servers were friendly and kind, we had scrambled eggs, bacon, good old breakfast menu. I have to say the lady who was manning the lift gate to the dock was also really nice and friendly and greeted us both on our way in and out..very nice experience

Belle’s in Newport offers a casual, dockside dining experience that pairs great views with solid food. My wife and I enjoyed the Clam Chowder, which was flavorful and satisfying. My wife particularly loved the Lox and bagel, noting that the generous portion of lox made it a great value. My BLT sandwich, while fresh, had a bit too much lettuce and overly crispy bacon. However, the overall experience was enhanced by the active shipyard setting and stunning yacht views. For the price, it’s a fantastic spot for a laid-back meal by the water, especially if you love maritime scenes. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere can’t be beaten.

This little cafe is right in the middle of the Newport Dry Dock Marina. Just walk up and let the guard know that you are going to the Cafe and they lift the gate and you walk by these immense yachts and sailboats that are being refurbished and maintained on your way to the outdoor waterside seating. Best lobster roll I ever had and I've had plenty. Chicken pannini and delicious pasta salad and a great cup of coffee! I didn't care for the homefries, but that was just my taste nothing wrong with them. Find your way there, and it's definitely a super stopper!

Belle’s Cafe in Newport ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're in Newport, you absolutely must stop by Belle’s Cafe! This charming dockside eatery in the shipyard serves up the best lobster roll in the area. The fresh lobster, paired with a zesty citrus aioli and nestled in a perfectly grilled bun, is a flavor explosion that you simply can't miss. But that's not all—each lobster roll is accompanied by their amazing homemade slaw, which truly surpasses any I've tasted elsewhere. It’s the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the lobster. To top it off, Belle's offers a delightful selection of cocktails, including refreshing mimosas that are perfect for a sunny day by the water. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this spot is a must-try. You won’t regret indulging in this seafood paradise!

Google
We visited 2 mornings in a row. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was fresh and tasty. We thought that the prices were especially reasonable for the area. The Marriott Newport is nearby and a quick walk to and from the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Google
Great brunch place. Go early to get a table, it gets busy around noon on weekends.

Google
A boatyard Cafe/Coffee Shop done right to high level professional standards with approachable pricing! Excellent, no fuss, well executed and presented food served in mid-scale with appropriate clean ambiance. In a league to its own as it lacks a the progressive, grungy, crunchiness associated with similar venues on boatyards. Will return soon.

Google
The best breakfast we had in Newport along with a nice view of the boats. Good to eat there or take away. The service was great and the quality of the food even better. The portion sizes are nice for the price. We got a few different plates, including daily specials, and everyone enjoyed all their meals. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
Cute brunch place but tad on the pricier side. It's nice to be near the waterfront though. The crab ($40) and lobster ($50) Benedict / roll was tasty!

Kate P.

Yelp
The most disrespectful restaurant experience. We were told a table would take 45 minutes and we weren't seated until 2 hours later! We went back and checked in and they said "sorry people are moving, we can't do anything about that". There was no apology. The food as average. The worst is that the waitress charged our card more than the tip. We called the restaurant and they never returned the call. I would never recommend a place that does not show common courtesy and then up chargers their customers. LOOK OUT, it's a lovely location with HORRIBLE service.

Niki N.

Yelp
This was our favorite breakfast spot while in Newport! Located in the Marina and you actually get to walk through the boat section! So fun seeing how large boats are out of water and up close! There was a long wait, we waited for 1 hr 15 mins but honestly worth it. There are couches to hang while waiting and the weather was perfect so we were not complaining! We got to watch a few boat teams prep and set sail, so cool seeing that! The food all looked amazing watching everyone's come out! We already knew what we wanted by the time we sat down lol Pancakes were great and the Lox sandwich hit the spot! We also had a burger which was cooked just right. Even though the wait was long the hostess was keeping us updated and staff was all very nice and efficient! Overall great experience!

Lauren P.

Yelp
Their crab cake benedict was DELICIOUSSS! That's saying a lot coming from a person who usually doesn't like breakfast foods. So happy I gave this a try. I don't think I could ever go back to a regular eggs benedict after having this one. On a breezy day, Belle's is pure morning relaxation. Great people watching and cute view of the water and ships. Getting to the restaurant is a little tricky, though. There was someone guiding us towards to restaurant but you essentially have to walk through the shipyard area before reaching the black and white tiles that lead you to the restaurant.

Cheyenne B.

Yelp
This place is ... a little overhyped. The ambiance is very nice. It's gives a vibe for sure, but all that is definitely not worth THE WAIT. Oh lord it was truly bad. If you're hungry when you wake up, don't come here. They have a to-go window that moves a little faster. We got coffees from there thinking that would hold us over but that don't work. The list being managed literally by pen and paper and by a high school kid so anyone that applied pressure got their seating. I would advise going to a text system for sure. The wait turned me off completely.

Carrie H.

Yelp
Trolley Rob recommended Belle's, and we are so glad we quickly walked through the parking lot because we were the last to be seated at 2:20 pm. After all, they closed at 3 pm. We were seated by a lovely lady who placed us at a two-top, which was great because they have the best view as they are closest to the Yachts. Our server was kind and helpful. I got a glass of Prosecco and a cup of clam chowder. Both of them were good. The best was our twin lobster roll, which comes with a side; we got potato salad, a pickle, and two lobster rolls. The potato salad was delicious. The best was the lobster roll that was overflowing with lobster. I took some claws out, cut them up, and ate them with the bib lettuce that might have just been there for decor. I made little bib lobster wraps.

Yelp
Was looking for a nice breakfast place and saw some good reviews. It also came highly recommended by the hotel I was staying at and it was relatively close. It's got a wonderful location right on the water and the weather was nice so I was able to grab a seat on the patio. I ordered the cake Benedict with a cup coffee. I thought it was a very reasonabley priced for crabcake Benedict and the portion was massive! My food and drink came out in rapid speed and enjoyed every bite. Would highly recommend if you are in Newport and want a nice relaxing by the water!

Yelp
Lovely spot on the water with spot on service. We got the twin lobster rolls with Cole slaw and the Cobb salad with blackened shrimp. I would highly recommend both. The blackened shrimp was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The lobster was generous, chilled and lightly tossed in mayo. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Newport!

Samantha B.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast spot in newport harbor. It is very small cafe. Make sure to get in early as it gets packed and there will be a long wait for larger parties. I had the breakfast sandwich on the croissant; it was wonderful and soft. Food was very good but the wait was long.

Christine B.

Yelp
Checked out this place because it consistently popped up in our searches as one of the recommend places to eat when in Newport. Had high hopes but had to admit I was a tad disappointed with our experience here. It probably had to do with our luck, but my friends and I came at a busy time and ended up waiting around 40 minutes to be seated, which we were fine with waiting but it ended up being a longer wait than we were told to expect so I think that dampened the excitement before we started to eat. I ordered the eggs Benedict and I have no complaints. In particular I really liked their home fries- the seasoning was on point!! I think it was that we were expecting more given that we waited so long. Again probably just our luck--so I would say this place is good but nothing extraordinary. I still think it's a solid place to get brunch but it's all about managing expectations, which I learned the hard way.

Brad G.

Yelp
Great little spot right on the water with awesome views. The staff are friendly and service is quick. I had the crab cakes Benedict and if I ever make it back to the area I would have them again! Delicious!

Bradley T.

Yelp
Came for brunch on a Saturday - recommend their crab Benedict and tuna melt. Never in my life have I seen bacon in the latter. Heaven. Indoor and outdoor seating available but highly recommend the table with dockside breeze. There was an hour-long wait but they've got plenty of seats available to relax on.

Shawn K.

Yelp
Located in an amazing spot with plenty of outdoor seating, terrific views, and a polite enthusiastic staff. The food was fresh and my entire table enjoyed it. Perfect for a breakfast or lunch!

Linh N.

Yelp
Popular spot amongst locals with a beautiful view of the water. There is a long wait for dine in, so most people opt for "take out". The locals say the restaurant has gotten a lot busier now that tourists know about it- oops! We waited at the waiting area filled with picnic tables and chairs for about 30 min for our order. We ordered the catch of the day sandwich and Belle's burger and were not disappointed. Everything tasted fresh. We ate at the picnic table and it honestly felt like a dine in experience without the service. We were just a few feet away from the actually dine in tables so we had the same views and ambiance. I can't speak for the service but I believe they were short on staff because it was outdoor dining only and even then- there were a few empty tables. The place was not filled to capacity. I would come back here the next time I'm in Newport and do the take out option again

Kat Y.

Yelp
Hidden breakfast gem of Newport. Belle's is tucked into the Newport Shipyard, you would never realize they were there. It's amazing to sit outside in the summer and see all the beautiful boats while looking into the harbor. Food is made fresh to order, the potatoes were my favorite.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Dog friendly brunch/ lunch spot. Dine by the marina with amazing views of the water. Be ready for long wait times to get a table. Many people avoid this by getting take out from their carry out window; however, if you do this you cannot eat the food on site they will kindly kick you out.

Kristen C.

Yelp
We dropped by Belle's at the suggestion of our trolley tour driver, Trolley Rob, as he said they have the best lobster roll in Newport. Not only was he right about the lobster roll, but they also have the best clam chowder. The lobster rolls have a lemon aioli that brings out the freshness of the meat & roll that's toasted perfectly. The clam chowder is so thick you can almost stand your spoon up in it & it's chock full of clams too. The ambiance is just want you want while eating a meal like this too as it's right on the water. We really enjoyed our meal!

Emily F.

Yelp
Breakfast food was AMAZING. it was pretty chilly when we went so no outside seating. I would love to come back when it's warm and sit out on the dock. Also, it's a bit hard to find so you will need to park and walk to what looks like a harbor/boat place. Just follow the signs!

Daniel H.

Yelp
The vibe and staff were great. I order the pancakes, which were delicious but unfortunately undercooked (gooey in middle)

Rich H.

Yelp
Great outdoor spot, terrific food. Our waitress Jessica was great, very attentive and knowledgeable about menu items. Eggs Benedict was perfect and the avocado toast was loaded with avocado.

Mimi V.

Yelp
Spent the weekend for the kite festival and decided to check this spot out as I saw it on a locals list of where to dine. Belle's did not disappoint! We got to check out the very very cool yachts and boats but more importantly we had a fantastic breakfast! The wacky waffles were to die for. I had a special of a French toast panini but it was stuffed with Brie, strawberries and bananas and holy crap, wow. My husband had the avocado toast with sunny side up eggs and I was mad cause I didn't even get to try it because he inhaled it. Service was outstanding, don't be put off for the wait, it was worth it. And mimosas that are fresh always taste better on the water. The vibe is chill and what I loved was I didn't feel rushed at all. 10/10

Shawna R.

Yelp
This place is great. Food is very good. Less touristy atmosphere, plenty of street parking. Inside cafe is very cute, the outdoor patio overlooks the shipyard, which is amazing.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Stopped at this restaurant for lunch on a rainy Newport day. They were busy yet attentive. I was seated at the counter overlooking the water. Even in the rain it's lovely. I had the lox sandwich with an everything bagel. The sandwich was full of fresh red onion, cream cheese and lox. Also a surprise tomato. The service was great will definitely return.

Russ S.

Yelp
Ever been to one of those places that should be fun and friendly, but the staff seems to compete to be the most aloof? This is it. Breakfast was fine, but just fine. We were surprised that the wait was 45 minutes. We attribute this 50% to ALL patrons being tourists (hell, we didn't know better!) and 50% being that the cooking AND service was so aloof and slow that they could surely turn almost double the number of patrons if someone at the place gave a "f". Not a do again.

Danae S.

Yelp
Well, this place was fabulous! We walked up to get a table and it was going to be a 20 mins wait... we were the only ones on the list! They were understaffed, which is understandable now a days (thanks Covid/Pandemic). The host said we could go and get something togo and then sit next to the water under an umbrella. That's exactly what we did. The harbor was had very pleasant ambiance and had nice fresh air. The food didn't take long at all, maybe 10 mins! Our Togo Lady, Heidi, was super helpful and friendly/patient (my mom is in her 70's). The food was hot, fresh, succulent, and flavorful! We ended up just slitting ONE Crab Cakes Benedict (came with two and a side of sautéed potatoes). It was lunch time and we didn't want to be lethargic afterwords. It was the PERFECT amount for what we wanted & only $30 (after tip) for two! You can never beat FRESH SEAFOOD

Mel K.

Yelp
Kelsey, our waitress was amazing! Very friendly and courteous. A stunning nautical theme, beautiful views. A light walk from parking on the side street. I had the lobster roll with a side of cucumber tomato salad in a vinaigrette with feta. It was sheer perfection and a delight for the taste buds. My friend truly enjoyed her New England clam chowder & I tried a bite. It was very flavorful and creamy. She also enjoyed her Caesar salad which was a large portion. You must stop at the little gift store next to and connecting with.

Tim S.

Yelp
Belles cafe is on a working boat dock with all outside seating. Monday at 10:30am was a 30 minute wait. Went for breakfast, but ended up having a mix of brunch. Food was very good and the service matched. I'm addition to our own meals we split an order of pancakes because we hear they had the "worlds best pancakes". I don't know about that, but they were outstanding. We will visit again. As a side note, I had my first authentic lobster roll. It will also be my last as I broke out in a rash with hives all over my body. After 2 Benadryl from a newly purchased $16 box, I was fine.

Angela B.

Yelp
We came here for one thing only: Lobster Rolls! Their lobster rolls were very moist, flavorful, and only $25! We did wait over 30 minutes to grab a table, but it was well worth it!

Shelli M.

Yelp
Great food and service! Recommend to anyone that wants a fresh lobster roll and authentic marina ambience.

Dawn S.

Yelp
Walking over to the docks it was a challenge to find with the restaurant at the end of the pier with the limited signage. It was raining so maybe easier to locate on a sunny day. Upon entering staff was rude and seated us at a 2 seat table in the middle of the bustling dining room as opposed to a table along the wall (which there were several available). Server was pleasant but oddly wouldn't look at us -would speak while looking away. The coffee was flavorful and served piping hot but the espresso/latte machine was broken so limited to coffee and tea. Breakfast was delicious with the exception of the unimpressive luke warm potatoes/pan fries I didn't eat. Fresh eggs, ham, sourdough bread all delicious. Limited jellies (grape/strawberry) in small plastic package made by heinz. My daughter really enjoyed everything on her avocado toast meal. $47 seems steep for 2 coffees and 2 breakfast plates. Great little place off the beaten path but wish they were friendlier to their customers.

Abigail G.

Yelp
Chicken caesar salad- perfect. perfect amount of dressing and good amount of chicken. Got it with the panko chicken meant for the other salad but i wanted it on the caesar and it was no problem. Quick service. AMAZING. LOBSTER ROLL. i am not the biggest fish fan but this didn't taste fishy- it was so fresh and cooling and just amazing. Great views and vibes and weather and just great great great.

Ed G.

Yelp
Great location on the pier and tucked away. Had great sandwich and wine and very relaxing. If you want to get away front the hustle of the main marina then check this out. Only a very short walk!

Steph S.

Yelp
Our server was very nice and we had a great table next to the water and some boats. We ordered a special for today and it was eggs Benedict with a crab cake and let me tell you- it was incredible. If I could start my day like this everyday I'd be so happy. Easily the best breakfast I've had in my life. Highly recommend this spot! It's in a quieter location away from the popular areas. Parking close by. Highly recommend

Pat B.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Belle's for years....we fitness walk by the shipyard almost every day. Today was the day and I am super happy and will return! First of all who wouldn't want to hang out along the water surrounded by insane boats! Secondly the service was very friendly, thirdly and most important is the food....delicious! My hubs had the Cubano which he totally enjoyed and I had a salad with arugula and a good sized piece of chicken encrusted in panko. It's dog friendly if you own a pup. There's a small but nice comfy area for waiting. Can't wait to return. Glad we live nearby.

Vida L.

Yelp
The view here is fantastic. Breakfast was very delicious, and we could have enjoyed it a lot more. However, the hospitality provided by our server (Tabitha) was unpleasant compared to the surrounding tables, which were greeted with a smile, good morning, and How is everything. Instead, we received the opposite, and I believe it was because I was Hispanic and my wife was Asian.

Amy F.

Yelp
Came here after a trolley tour based on a recommendation and the lobster rolls were the best we had all week. Fun to look at the boats while we waited for a table.

Matthew S.

Yelp
Delicious brunch food. Good portion sizes, fair prices, a fun experience. It is a bit hard to find as it is located at the Newport shipyards, but all in all a solid meal to start the day off right. The omelette is perfect, well, just about anything you order will be. It was fun to eat facing the water, and you get relatively fast service to go along with it so you can continue on with your day without as much as a hiccup. A thumbs up from me.

stephen F.

Yelp
Unbelievable setting. Great service. Tasty food. I had eggs benedict with lox. She had avocado toast (you better like salty). Free parking until 0900 (Traffic cops are there at 0901).

Alicia C.

Yelp
Belle's was everything we could have wanted, and more! Truly in one of the coolest settings I've ever seen a restaurant. Order the eggs Benedict- you won't be disappointed! Service was quick and everyone was friendly. This was the perfect spot to start our day!

Kathy O.

Yelp
We came for brunch on a Saturday, long wait for a party of 6. About 45-60 minutes. They only opened the outdoor patio, the indoor dinning room was closed. However the patio were very pretty, over looking the docked ships at the marina. The food was very good, everything was very fresh and nicely plated. All 6 of us enjoyed our dishes and drinks. Our waitress Mara was excellent.

Walnut P.

Yelp
Did takeout via online. Forgot the croissants. No one answers the phone. No one greeted me when I came in when it was empty but many workers doing nothing. Would like my money back before I have to do a chargeback. Maybe answer the phones when you advertise calling the restaurant on your menu for daily selection? I know you aren't that busy.... food was good. Downgrading to one star because no one answered the phone all day. I'll be stopping in tomorrow for my refund of the items you never gave me.

Jake U.

Yelp
Poor service starting with getting seated. Host was somewhat incompetent and forgot there were diners on a waiting list and instead seated subsequent diners that just walked up. No apology. Would not recommend.

Melissa D.

Yelp
Took a day trip from Boston to New Port to check out the mansions. We found this place on Yelp and it was one of the best meals on our trip. I had an egg white omelette and it was perfect. My husband had a cup of claim chowder with a lobster roll and both were excellent as well. The servers were very attentive. There was about a 30 min wait but well worth it.

Marita S.

Yelp
A lobster roll how it should be. Lobster on a buttered, grilled New England hot dog roll. I keep trying lobster rolls near and far only to be disappointed time and again. This was not one of those times. Nice location on the water behind the boats in dry dock. Pretty outside seating area. Lovely serving person. She was nice and understood the need for the right bun. No fancy brioche baloney. Coming back when I need another lobster roll fix. They just need to fix the flat soda dispenser

Sandra G.

Yelp
Great food. Love the location at the Newport Shipyard. Service was great last year when we went. Looking forward to going again this summer.

Virginia B.

Yelp
Excellent lobster rolls; great price. Restaurant well hidden in the boatyard. Ideal on a sunny day but the food is always good. My pancake was not cooked through. They replaced it and eliminated the charge. That's great customer service.

Michael D.

Yelp
This is such a sweet spot in the shipyard. It's very nicely decorated in its blue and white themed decor. . The breakfast was impressive. It was upscale food with a casual vibe with the view of the boats. Go check it out

Maki S.

Yelp
Would you wait 30 minutes when it's 43 degrees out? For Belle's, we did. I've never had stuffed french toast before, so when the server recommended it I was like let's try it! It was enough for 4 hungry people (but if I'm being honest, it was enough for me and I wish I didn't share it ). They also offer some of the BEST hot apple cider I've ever had.. I'm not exaggerating. It's the perfect blend of tart and sweet. Even my sister who makes her own was like "I wonder what the recipe is?!" Standard breakfast stuff was delicious too, but ask what their specials are, because they have good ones!
