Bellesguard

Not as touristy as other Gaudi projects but still worth your attention! The audio guide is included and comes in multiple languages. You can see the indoors only with a supervisor and the tour takes places every 30 minutes so bear it in mind. Also I appreciate their cancellation and rescheduling policy, in case you emergency they’re willing to help. I screwed up the day of my visit and they kindly rescheduled 🤍

Worth the Metro ride (L7 green line) around 4Euro for single journey, took around 30 minutes to reach Vallcarca stop then around 30 minutes to walk to the Property it is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Great way of escaping the busy city, around 12 of us visiting!

A modernist manor house also known as Casa Figueras, built between 1900 and 1909 by Gaudí. It stands on the site of an older medieval castle and incorporates some of its original elements.

We had a tour guide, Sergio, for just the three of us. It was a wonderful tour and Bellesguard is less well known so it was not crowded at all.

A hidden gem of Gaudi’s architecture, buried in a quiet upscale residential area of the city, with few tourists. We booked an 11 AM tour, and were the only two people to show up so we ended up with an hour long private tour of the castle. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I would strongly recommend Bellesguard, as in addition to the fascinating history and the beautiful architecture, you are likely to get some of the best views of the city from the top of the home.

This is a gem, by Gaudi, it’s a small place, not much visited I guess, as I was the only one there on a Monday. I can immerse myself there, appreciate, without any disturbance. It’s concept of square and 90° is different from his other architectures. But the interior of the house still pertain his concept of natural light.

This is another wonderful Gaudi. Its easy to get to on public transport. A bus stops about 2 minutes across from it, which bus leaves from a bus stop about 2 minutes from the Metro. We spent about 1 1/2 hours here. The staff were friendly. The audioguide is easy to follow. Spectacular views from the rooftop. We wandered down to Av Tibidabo to return to the centre, passing a collection of spectacular Modernist mansions en route. Unmissable.

A little out of the way but so worth a visit! Beautiful building, with all the usual attention to detail from the famous architect Gaudi. It was very quiet, unlike most of his centrally located buildings.
