I absolutely love coming here when I do. I am not a big breakfast person, however, this is my spot when I do. Our server, Othell was amazing!! He knew the menu and sold us on the special. I loved the enthusiasm!! You don’t get that anymore! Such a great family restaurant and atmosphere!! Thank you for the experience. Ps, grits so good you don’t need no sugar haha

Great portion size of very good food. Cooked perfect and no funky flavors haunting the dish. Coffee was great. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was quiet even though the place had people waiting for seating. No long wait time to be seated and as busy as it was, the food arrived quickly and exactly as we ordered it. Real half and half on the table and no sideways looks when we requested more coffee or cream. Restrooms are smaller single occupancy but extremely clean and comfortable. This place will earn your business with their food, prices, and friendly staff. I could say more but it was worth the drive from Alton. My new favorite breakfast place. Came here for crapes combo. Wow!

A very small restaurant. That didn't bother me. There were 3 waitresses that were all competing over our table. There was an oil film in the coffee and on the dishes/ silverware. We asked for new, and the new ones were the same. We ended up just leaving. Will not go back.

One of the other reviewers said this place is a hidden gem and they were correct!! Great diner feel, excellent selection of options on the menu, kind folks working there, and it’s very clean. The food was so dang good. I ordered the steak omelet that came with hash browns and I upgraded to some French toast. When I say that French toast was perfect, I mean that. If you’re local to the area or just passing through and you want some good breakfast, this is the spot for you!

We arrived at 6 pm, an hour before close. We were acknowledged quickly and told to choose a seat which we did. Food was made to order and quickly. Good taste, hubbies said pancakes were fluffy. However while in the middle of eating, the gentleman cleaning up the dining room was cleaning tables with a high bleach content which had a strong smell. And he turned all the chairs upside down, made us feel very unwelcome. Didn't like that there were no tickets so not sure how the pricing was as high as it was. 1 meal 9.99, other meal 11.99. 1 drink and tax came to 30.xx.

If you're anything like me, nothing beats a homey, friendly breakfast diner with a solid atmosphere and quiet ambiance to enjoy your morning meal. They're a dime a dozen these days. So many modern buildings with loud music and sub par service on top of it all, which is not what I want in my morning routine. Well this is the homey diner you need in your life. The only thing better than the food is their service and affordability! Constantly checking on how you're doing, if you need refills on anything or if just your overall experience is still going well. Now, I'm not saying this food is going to change your life or anything, but came back a second time this week just for the service and prices (the food is still better than anywhere I've been out here so far for breakfast). And for me, service can make or break the restaurant, it could be the best breakfast I've ever had in my life, if the service is bad, I'm not coming back. I'll certainly come back here a lot more and encourage you to try it too!

Food was great. Don't ask for crispy hash browns. They come extra crispy. Go for the normal hash browns. I'm sure they'll be properly Crispy. Strawberry topping on the waffles was great Good thick syrup

This is our new go to breakfast spot! The daily specials are cheap for what you get. We have been traveling for almost a year around the US and I haven't found a place that satisfied my breakfast craving like this place. This area has the best food by far. Our server was on top of everything outstanding service here. Not once did I have a low cup or no napkins the man literally brought me what I need before I asked for it. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

My bimonthly friend breakfast and this place was a hit. Friendly servers. Blueberry pancakes were smothered in flavor. I had a blueberry in every bite. My bacon was crisp to perfection. I left with my heart and belly happy.

Loved the cozy, well worn locally owned vibe. Totally packed at 11:30am on a Sunday, but no wait. Service friendly and attentive. Menu is huge and includes sandwiches, salads etc for lunch and dinner, but my understanding is they earned their rep from breakfast, and indeed they have a wide variety of various egg, omelette, and pancake options available. I had the biscuit&gravy special, my wife the strawberry French toast. Food was hot, fresh, flavorful, plentiful- if you leave hungry it's on you haha. Biscuits a little doughy but it's a quibble. All in solid experience and will be back.

Went to a competitor first and it was so crowded I had a panic attack so my husband said "I think there's a pancake house on north belt west". And so we ended up here. What an amazing experience!! Food was wonderful and the server was beyond all expectations. This place is a perfect spot! We will be back!! Best thing is that even though there are only 12 tables it feels like grandma's house!! Othell is the best!!!

I'm visiting Belleville for a few days to attend an event with my home-town family. I grew up here in Belleville but have now lived longer in Philadelphia than I lived in Illinois. I was happy to have breakfast here with my aunt and 2 very good friends. This is my aunt's favorite place to grab breakfast and I can see why. So many really good choices of omelettes, nice breakfast specials and very decent diner food. My omelette was cooked well and was filled with all the vegetables that were listed on the menu. It came with hash browns that were crispy and potato-y and a really good biscuit. Everyone was more than satisfied with their order and the service was quick and friendly! If you are looking for a home-cooked-tasting breakfast, I recommend.

Food is just decent at best. Servers are polite and nice but service is slow including cook times. If you go with low expectations with a lot of time to waste and want cozy diner, then this is your spot. There was / is a server/buser that rather be loud and flirt with women guest than be more of a teammate and assist with other tables being neglected.

I ate too fast to take a picture of the food but a great All American spot. We don't have places like this in Gilbert Arizona. I guess that comes with the territory.

I passed by this place while working and decided to come back and try it out. I am so glad that I did.The server, Othell, was A1. He was very polite and informative. I had the chicken and waffles. Waffle was really good and the chicken was moist and delicious. The American fries were seasoned to perfection. The atmosphere had a very home like feel. I will definitely be returning and bringing friends and family.

Bland, crumbly pancakes. Hash browns were crisp on the outside and soggy on the inside. Eggs were the best thing because all they need is salt & pepper (which I added myself). Service was nice and atmosphere was pleasant, just make sure to bring your own seasoning.

Wanted to patronize a neighborhood establishment instead of well known chain. We arrived around 9am on a weekday. Reminds you of an old school diner/restaurant-which is what it is LOL They were short staffed (cashier doubled as host and server). Took a bit to get our order placed. It wasn't overly crowded with customers. Food was okay.

I believe this place is completely underrated. This has been my go to place for breakfast for quite some time based on the food and the service. I wouldn't classify it as a hole in the wall, but it's not frilly. Which shines here are the amazing omelettes pancakes, and even their burgers are great too. The servers are always nearby if you need anything and the prices are very very good for what you get. If you're hungry and want good value, I don't know any other place better than this honestly.

Food was good, mom and pop atmosphere and the prices were okay. They weren't too busy and there was only one waiter, who was super nice and efficient too. I didn't like that my "catfish" filets, although cooked well was actually Swai fish and I don't like Swai.

This mom and pop establishment does a good breakfast. We had a nice sampling of pancakes, biscuits with gravy, bacon, sausage links, eggs and hash browns. I would have liked some sausage in the gravy but other than that it was good. Oh... and the coffee was hot and freshly made. Went on a day it snowed so I was glad to not have to commute to St. Louis.

This is seriously the best diner I've ever been to. It was a home-y environment, staff was helpful and kind, there were SO many options to choose from in their menu, and the food is amazing. I got the greek skillet, which was unique and delicious. I wish I had this place in my hometown!

Good ol' hometown atmosphere and good food. The staff is welcoming and available for any needs. We have had several wonderful meals here. Love the breakfast meals best!

The breakfast here is absolutely amazing. I wish I could tell you about the rest of the menu but I can't get over what got me hooked. But the gem here is the customer service, especially Othell! Can't ask for better service. I thought he was the server, cook, and owner lol. I will be a regular I promise.

What's not to like here. Good pancakes, skillets, burgers, and much more. They did increase their pricing like most places.

This is our go to place on the weekends for breakfast. The food is delicious, our server Othel is truly the gem at this location. It's the caring service as he gives menu ideas, actually butters your pancakes before bringing them to you just is GREAT at his job, and leaves you with a feeling you went to see a friend. The owners seemed to have done some upgrades on the space so it's a great neighborhood place. Prices did just go up, but it's sure to happen in current status of our economy in Bidens' world. If you haven't tried it, add to your go to list, and you won't be sorry.

the food was delicious however the cleanliness and service was terrible! the floor was sticky, tables weren't cleaned off, a server spilled water everywhere and didn't clean it up. some splattered on my mom and he apologize, but she cleaned up his mess and warned others the floor was soaked! she said something to him and he started yelling at her in front of everyone! told her to leave! I called manager and management went off on me as well then he got on the phone and told us to never come back and hung up on me! that is terrible management and no way to treat paying customers!

Meatloaf was not real meat, at least it didn't look like real meat and the taste was awful. Mashed potatoes were cold. The canned corn was fine. My packaged rolls were fine but the waiter would not replace the rock hard rolls of one of our party members saying that once the air hits them they get hard. Then why weren't mine hard? I will not be back.​

Our quest for a great breakfast spot continues. Food is exactly what it's supposed to be. Hot, quick, plentiful, and in a pretty clean environment. We ordered the Godfather and the only complaint was tough ham. Veggie skillet was good but needed seasoning. Pancakes were a great flavor but a little tough. Service was a little disorganized but our server was friendly and the order was correct.

Service is always good. I always call in and they're to the point where they greet my by name on the phone and already know what I want and how I like it. I get chocolate chip pancakes and they are LARGE. The pancakes are my favorite. The eggs are ok and so is the meat. You might get a shell but at least you know they use real eggs! I love this small business.

The service was amazing. The pancakes were a little too burnt, but were decent. Other than that, everything was really good. I love how they do not up-charge for switching from pork sausage to turkey sausage. All reasonable priced food and a good amount too! The bathroom is small but clean. Also, the restaurant was clean. I love the fact that I could touch the condiments and nothing was sticky or gross.

Went this afternoon for the first time. I had the country fried steak special, it was homemade... Prices were really affordable, food was good but the service was excellent. In the days of COVID, service is almost non existent anymore and businesses act like they could care less if there employees or service is sub standard. Definitely will be going back just to support a business that appreciates its customers.

This has become my favorite place to go. The breakfast here is absolutely delicious. Pair that with Othell's spectacular service and charisma and it's an excellent experience. If you're in the area and have a chance to stop by, go see this man and let him put a smile on your face while you have an excellent breakfast. Seriously thought this man was owner the way he cares about his service. Othell made everything top freaking notch. 10/10 recommend.

The place was really hot inside. The food was OK and really cheap !! The prices alone make it worth the stop I just wished management would consider making it more comfortable for diners.

For the money, this place is GREAT! Nothin' fancy, but good flavor and great quantities. The service was awesome for us, and I always LOVE places that serve breakfast all day. Sure hope this place stays around.

Our food was delicious! Definitely our new favorite spot for brunch! The service is friendly and very fast. The buttermilk pancakes just melt in your mouth. Definitely better than any food chain restaurant.

Food was good, building was clean, staff was friendly. All in all you can get a good breakfast any time of the day. I had chocolate chip pancakes with crispy bacon. Pancakes were HUGE and pretty good and the bacon was super crispy.

Quick service, great value and a no nonsense approach. We got exactly what we ordered on Timely basis and enjoyed our breakfast. Skip the biscuits and Gravy.

We stopped in this restaurant for breakfast because it had 4 stars, but during our visit they didn't have any coffee supposedly the coffee maker shuts itself off randomly but they offered us warm coffee which obviously we declined and ordered hot chocolate. I got the crepes combo. I was surprised to see that I got just plain crepes. Typically when I order crepes they come with a type of creme not these. I had to ask the waitress why wasn't there any filling, she said oh you want filling in it..well I didn't order thin pancakes with syrup lol. So she brought me strawberry filling. Apparently Plain, Blueberry and strawberry are option but she never mentioned when I ordered so she brought out plain crepes. Bacon wasn't cooked when ordered, it was stiff and cold. Hot chocolate wasn't what we wanted but it was all they had other than sodas. We were the only patrons in the restaurant so not sure why the lack of food quality and beverage. No wait and though the waitress seemed like she didn't want to wait our table she did try to be nice so I 3 star the place

This is my second, and last time here. To be fair, last time I had an omelette and it was decent. This time I ordered the "Big Papa" 1/2 biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. This was under the heading "breakfast bowls" on the menu, which also says these items are sever with pancakes or toast, French toast extra. First, they gave me my pancakes as a substitute for the biscuits and gravy instead of honoring their own menu. Second, the food was very blah. You can see in the picture that they didn't even attempt to cook the hash browns properly (this was after I seasoned). The coffee ($2.49!!!) was like warm water, as a customer at the next table commented. There are too many decent breakfast places around to waste time and money here. The one bright spot- the wait staff was nice and helpful.

By all means yes! This is the second visit for my wife and me and each time the food was delicious. This visit I had the VIP skillet and my wife had pancakes. The skillet was really tasty, hashbrowns were the star. Wife's pancakes were light and fluffy and golden brown...really good. Service was great!

Pros: menu has good variety of breakfast items at reasonable prices. The omelet was good! Cons: pancakes are heavy, not light and fluffy, look like they are made of cornmeal?? But that is just an opinion. The biscuits and gravy were a good portion but lacked flavor, biscuits did not seem home made...not that they were advertised from scratch, they just didnt taste any better than you would get from frozen biscuits. The three in our party had mixed reviews. One said their food was good and would come back. The other two didnt care for the food and decided it was a dealbreaker. We ALL agreed the service needed a step up.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Came here out of desperation after another place fell through. Right off the bat, the waitress seemed stressed out. It was busy, so that was to be expected, but things only got worse from there. Ordered our food, and most things came out cool. Pancakes, oddly enough, were burnt and heavy. Pretty odd when "pancake" is in your restaurant's name. Eggs were cold as well. But for the prices, I can't complain too much. What I CAN complain about, though, was a severe case of food poisoning that came after. A member of our party ordered the corned beef hash with eggs for breakfast. No one else ordered this, and coincidentally, no one else got sick. The member of our party contracted symptoms about 12 hours after eating and was up all night with violent gastrointestinal distress. I tend to be a lurker on Yelp, avoiding writing reviews entirely. But I wanted to warn anyone who would consider eating here to skip. It's just not worth getting food poisoning over.

Went there because there is Belgian waffles on the menu. What showed up at our table was not Belgian waffles. It looked like Belgian waffles but lacks the light, airy crispness. I have been to Belgium, and all three Belgian waffles I ate were not soft. The syrup that was served with the waffles was not overly sweet and we appreciated that. The bacon was a mixed bag, some were crispy and some were soft & chewy. Bacon jerky? Biscuit & gravy was bland. Basically an okay restaurant with mixed bag food items and good value.

I really wanted pancakes Saturday morning, but didn't want to go into St. Louis. Found this spot on Yelp and it was wonderful. We got there about 10 AM and they were not overly crowded. I was so happy to see coconut pancakes on their menu -- that is my absolute favorite. The wait for food was a little bit long, but the food was fabulous when it came. Their pancakes are better than that national chain in St. Louis and Chesterfield who always have huge lines on the weekends! DH got scrambled eggs with sausage and wheat toast. His eggs were beautiful. Not overcooked with brown scorch all over them that is so common in the Midwest. We will definitely go back.

This is my new favorite gem in town !! I loved everything. Service was fast, food was top notch and I left satisfied all around. The pancakes were hands down the best pancakes I've ever had. They had about 20 different kinds, but of course I am a simple plain Jane regular pancake lover ... and they nailed it. I appreciate a good old fashion buttermilk pancake and this was delightful! It was very fluffy but had crispy edges just how I like it. Great taste and texture .. and I love that they had powdered sugar on top! Nice little touch. My biscuits and gravy were delicious as well! I also got hash browns and they were cooked to perfection!!I was so impressed and excited to have a new local place to go to. I look forward to trying out new breakfast items and trying out the lunch menu more!

Great breakfast!!! I Have ordered from here multiple times. Their crepe's both strawberry and plain were simply delicious bringing back memories of my grandmother's. Pancakes were light and good. The best however was their yummy fresh hash browns, grilled onions, finely chopped sausage, bacon, ham, cheese, topped with three eggs. forgot the name of this dish, but boy it is Full of flavor. Must try!

The food is good. You pay a 79 cent fee for using a card so read the signs they have before you eat. The place is kinda small but it's nice. Know how to maneuver around the menu so you won't spend more than you need to. The prices are low until you need to pay for sides. They have lots of options!

Decent food and friendly staff. Even the other customers great you when your coming in. Next time I go I'm getting the fried chicken.

My wife and I moved down here about a year ago and this place has been a go-to for breakfast on Saturday's. The food is delicious and a steal for its price. The specials are always really good and I normally end up getting one. My wife always gets The Godfather Breakfast and replaces regular pancakes with the cheesecake pancakes. Their whipped cream on the pancake is amazing. The service is fast and clean, which is amazing. The staff is personable and friendly. We love them. Luis and Odell are both wonderful. They both are rockstars! Thank you all! See you soon.

I'm so glad to have a local diner 2 mins away from home! Walked into this place having a Chinese cuisine vibe but that did not change my opinion on how clean the place was, how friendly the staff was and how REAL the food was. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and have so many options on the menu. Be sure to stop here with kids very kid friendly place.
