6 City Club Hotels In the U.S. That Don’t Require Membership - AFAR

"A modern, Pacific Northwest–styled club with 66 rooms and a recent renovation that used reclaimed and recycled wood, offering spacious accommodations (rooms from about 510 sq ft; suites from roughly 1,000 to 1,990 sq ft) and a “stay well” focus. Nonmember guests can access a large athletic complex—indoor and outdoor pools, spa, tennis courts, virtual golf, an indoor track, basketball and racquetball courts within a roughly 200,000-square-foot club—and enjoy on-site dining featuring local items (for example, Molly Moon ice cream) and a Cosmos bar known for happy-hour bites like poke tacos." - Pat Tompkins

If you’re looking for a personal trainer, Nick is it! He works with my 12-year-old son and has made it such a great experience for him. He’s super friendly, engaging, and makes the equipment feel way less intimidating. He tailors the workouts to be age-appropriate while still challenging, and my son always looks forward to training with him. Highly recommend!

I love this gym but lately it seems like something is always missing. Whether it's no coffee in the morning, no cups for the coffee, no soap in the showers, steam room not working..........too often. It really throws you off when you're following a strict routine and time regimen in the morning and you get thrown a curve ball.

Google
Pricey, but it's clean and an easy way to get access to an outdoor pool. The remodel is beautiful and the current menu is delicious. If you have kids and want activities/camp options for them, then this place is a must for membership. Supper club is one of my favorite (almost) monthly events; included a few photos. My kids love the child care here and ask to go there quite often. Their holiday events such as Mother's Day brunch was amazing, they had a photographer, cotton candy that was designed into animals, glitter tattoos and caricatures. It was amazing and they do stuff like that for all of their events. I've been a member for over 10 years and they are slowly increasing their events(most are not free) making the membership more valuable and membership dues have gone up minimally. Highly recommend.

I visited here as a reciprocal member and enjoyed the experience. The staff were very helpful with my inquiries, especially Kayla (the hat fits great!). I'll certainly look forward to checking this out the next time I'm in the area.

Google
The hotel side common space and restaurant area is nice. I was at a private event, so I can't really speak to the food on the menu. Space is low key stylish while elegent. Staff is polite. On the athletic club side, I'm familiar with the pool. It is large but very, very crowded. Because of that I do not enjoy swimming there. The locker room is upscale.

My family and I were members of Bellevue Club for over 8 years. We joined in 2017 and genuinely loved being a part of the community. The café area became a regular part of our family’s routine, and we always felt known and welcomed by staff. For years, it felt like a second home. Unfortunately, things began to change after COVID. Standards declined, enforcement of basic club rules became inconsistent, and the environment lost much of what once made it special. Those concerns ultimately came to a head in January 2025. During a routine visit, I was falsely accused of inappropriate behavior on the walking track. Despite there being no confrontation, no aggressive behavior, and no wrongdoing on my part—allegations were made to staff that I had been acting inappropriately around children. These accusations were completely disproven by video surveillance and a fellow member who witnessed the situation and came forward to support me. Rather than investigate thoroughly or protect a long-standing member, the club escalated the situation by contacting the police. The management later claimed that it was the accusing family who made the call, but the official police report confirmed it was the club who initiated contact with law enforcement. The same report also included several inaccurate claims about my behavior—none of which were substantiated by any video or witness testimony. What made this even harder was how long it took to process. The incident happened in January, and it’s only now—months later, in May—that I feel ready to speak publicly. The experience was so deeply unsettling for my family and me that I chose to step back and reflect before posting this. I had hoped the club would eventually have taken responsibility and apologized. They didn’t. In the end, the club refunded our $5,000 initiation fee, and we chose to end our membership. While we appreciated that gesture, it doesn’t undo the public humiliation or emotional distress my family experienced in what used to be our trusted space. If you’re considering joining Bellevue Club, please think carefully. What happened to us could happen to anyone. The leadership made it clear that when something goes wrong—even if you’ve been a loyal member for years—their priority may not be to protect or support you.

This place looks exactly like royalty! Everything, the environment, the serving/catering, the services, is perfect. My brother has his wedding reception here.

Google
Great place to be during a work day. Could be very busy during weekends. Loved the basketball court, swimming pool. The kid shallow swimming pool is safe enough for kiddos to play and they have life guards. The adult pool is professional level - water is cold but a well-worthy workout.

Yelp
Servicw, selection, and food was prepared perfectly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I was there for lunch as an invited guest.

Yelp
Member since approximately 2014. The athletic facilities are good. The lap pool is outstanding and the masters swim program is very very good. I don't use the tennis but I hear it's awesome. The pickleball program is not well run. There are way too many people for the capacity which is limited. Unfortunately that is something both my wife and I are very interested in. Food at the Splash restaurant next to the pool is decent but nothing to write home about. Good for feeding the kids while they're playing in the pool during the summer, or a very casual business lunch. Food and drink at the Cosmos grill is mediocre at best. They can't seem to make a decent drink of any complexity. Probably best to stick with very simple drinks or straight shots. And the food is just sort of ho-hum. The one plus to what is a decidedly mediocre experience at Cosmos is that the service is nice. The waitstaff have been very good. Parking sucks and is only going to get worse. Wish I could leave a better review, but management needs to care more....

Yelp
Been a member for 25 years and the maintenance of the workout machines is slipping with machines being broken for months and the workout facilities are just not clean anymore.

Yelp
This is a review of the meeting rooms and catering food served during the events Let me start off by saying this venue is not perfect. It has lots of room for improvement - some of which I will get into the details later. BUT! Compared to some of the other venues in this area, they are above average. Due to the nature of my job, I have been to several meeting/ball/conference rooms at various hotels all around the world. I participate in a monthly training at Bellevue Club, so even though I am not a member there, I get to use some of their facilities and catering food. They offer several types of lunch options. Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean, and American. The food quality tbh is just okay. But okay is okay! It is what is expected of food like this that is prepared for 200+ guests. I am not sure if they make their own desserts or not but I do enjoy their desserts more often than their lunch offerings. For example, Apple Tart (as pictured) was quite good! It was very sweet but the nutty flavors from the pecans and cinnamon balanced it out. I just wish that the food quality is more consistent. Some months, we get meats that are just way over cooked. Some months they come out near perfect. They have several meeting/conference rooms of different sizes and I have been in at least 4 different rooms. The room are clean and seats are comfortable enough. Projectors work and sound system is just fine as well. Zero complaints there. All the service employees I have interacted with have been very nice! I know there is a set minimum purchase for food/drinks to rent the room(s) but I do not remember the exact dollar amount. Based on memory, I did not think it was that expensive. Parking is free but they ask us to park at the Hilton parking lot, which is within 3 minutes walking distance. Just be careful - there are some designated parking spots owned by Diamond Parking. Do NOT park in these spots. You will be fined. I do not understand what Diamond Parking owns a certain number of spots inside of a hotel parking lot. Not cool! Bellevue Club also offers valet parking. I am not sure if this is only for the hotel guests though. I have not tried but I have interacted with the valet parking staff. They are all very nice and cool. That's about it! If you need to borrow a meeting room for 100+ people on the eastside, I can definitely recommend Bellevue Club.

Yelp
Review of the market in Bellevue club. Huge selection of coffee, tea, smoothies, açaí bowls, pastries, ready to eat meals and snacks. Was impressed by the variety of meals. Tried the samosa and mushroom risotto which were both delicious. They can heat the food for you. There is also a microwave available to heat other food and a beautiful spacious seating area.

Yelp
Great club worth the price. Nice amenities, and the pool and tennis courts are great. Pretty good food and warm atmosphere

Yelp
Would be better if they let the workers play ping pong while on shift. Sometimes I want to play ping pong but I came to the gym alone that day so I ask one of the workers if they will play. They always say that can't. Not sure why I'm paying this kind of money for a membership if I can't borrow an employee as a ping pong partner.

Yelp
I have been a member for many years and enjoyed going there. It's a lifelong membership so I'm stuck. Lately things are different. 1. The library. There are signs posted that this is a quiet place. Not so anymore. Today a woman was conducting a business meeting for 30 minutes and then I had enough and left. At the same time there was three teenagers discussing there sexcapades; finding it very amusing. This was just today. It's like this most days. 2. The men's locker room is now a hangout place for boys under 16 it seems. 3. There use to be lanes reserved for lap swimmers in the Competition pool Now it's filled with little kids playing their games and various classes being taught by non staff members. 4. The hallways are filled with running kids. 5. Back in the day you were welcomed with a smile and said goodbye to when you left. Now everybody is to busy on their phones. Needless to say I'm quite disappointed.

Yelp
Would have to say it was a five star for many years but as of today I would give no more than a two star, I am not impressed.. The front desk as well as the rest of the club isn't the way customer service used to be there..

Yelp
This club is an ultimate place for family& people who wants to workout and pamper themselves.

Yelp
The food service here -- in all three spots with table-service -- is consistently bad, with obvious preference to a certain clientele. It's unfortunate, because as a longtime member who uses and has always been pleased with the athletic facilities, it would be nice if the experience were well-rounded.

Yelp
The Bellevue club is beautiful and I'm always able to find great pieces for my home and wardrobe in the clothing store. The employee Lana was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. She gave me great suggestions and was very knowledgeable on the products.

Yelp
I inquired about joining but this club is really overpriced. A couple thousand - THOUSAND! - just to join. EEEEK. They also charge on top of that for the monthly fee at the tune of over $100 for just a single person - families are more, of course - plus additional fees to participate in any of the social events. For example, they are having an Easter egg hunt in the swimming pool for kids at $17 per child. It's free to use if you stay at the hotel. Parking is a nightmare. It's free but always full.

Yelp
Today was my first time going to Bellevue Club, me and my friend were trying to get a quick workout in. My friends weren't picking up the phone and i got there before them and didnt know where to go. I didnt want to wait for them so went in by myself and it led me up some stairs and when i got inside one of the security guards kicked me out (very aggressive). He didnt explain to me why or what i did so i decided to wait for my friends and when they got here i went through the main entrance with them and the guard came back down and told me i couldnt come in today. I dont think this was fair, was it because of my race? Please explain.

Yelp
I spent a week at the club, coming daily to enjoy the facility & everything, from people to food and services were great. The gym caters to cardio bunnies and fitness junkies of all demographics. Open, spacious and clean. Towels are offered at every turn. Three swimming pools on site; an indoor shallow kids pool and an Olympic style pool and outdoor pool, including Jacuzzis. Change rooms are well kept and offer a sauna, steam room, water, tea and coffee area and ample lockers with solid protection. The club connects to the hotel and provides space for quiet activities including reading in the library or working. Spacious gym for basketball. I believe there are three restaurants, though I dined at two. Hotel restaurant and bar offers yummy food. The poké bowl was by far my favourite. Splash also has good food when you're lounging by the poolside and get hungry. Happy hour runs from 3-5pm Monday to Friday and offers a good selection for $5. Menu items are large enough to share or consume independently if you're starving. Had a mani and pedi done as well at the spa. My nails kept from chipping for over a week. Very pleased with the service and care that was provided to me. Staff are eager to assist wherever possible and clients are generally friendly. A games room with up to date technology is also available for children & adults ;) Nintendo Wii consoles, foosball and an air hockey table are in the room. Ping pong (table tennis) and squash courts also available. Many activities await for your enjoyment.

Yelp
So I've been coming here for awhile. I love the place for all it has to offer, but the execution is piss poor. For $5K entry fee, you'd think you'd have staff dialed in but just like any other athletic facility they can't keep consistent help at the athletic entrance and the girls are rude as all hell. The service staff in the restaurants will make you want to scream and pull your hair out and by the time you talk to a manager you'll have thought you just entered a twilight zone. Good ideas, poorly executed. But for a girl who doesn't like to get hit on at a typical gym, wants a community place for the kids to be able to exercise and make it a one stop location it's hard to beat. So you suck up the crap for service, and take it on the chin because where else are you going to go and work out with your little ones and feel like there is a safe place for all of you to go? The place seriously sucks in terms of service. So if that's a huge check list on your item turn around and go somewhere else. Their management team really doesn't care. But if all you want is the facility I will give it a solid 4.5 stars. But everything else sucks so badly the weighted average for me is a solid 3.

Yelp
What a great spot to spontaneously check in to when you are heading to Puyallup at 9pm at night and everyone is so grumpy you pull over immediately and stop here based on reviews on Yelp. An affordable luxury hotel with bellmen and room service and really elegant set ups in the room. The mini bar was an awesome addition for a long ass day, however there was no coffee maker in the room. And that is a big big no no. I am seriously still feeling like I just couldn't find it but oh my word it's crazy that there was no coffee maker. Anyway the room service was just okay. For how nice the hotel was I feel like they could up their food game. A caesar salad was $17 and it was just a mediocre caesar with cold chicken. We wanted a wrap that didn't have onions in them and they said that the wraps were pre made so they couldn't not make it with the onions....A pre made wrap? What? So we ordered the caesar wrap with just as much quality as the salad. Way too expensive for room service. Fancy bathroom, elite tub, huge french doors. We enjoyed our stay, but the coffee maker guys....

Yelp
Huge mega club in Bellevue. I was a guest at the adjoining Hotel Bellevue and was generally impressed with their facilities. This place is probably as close as it gets to the nicest gym in metro seattle. I hear they have initiation fees of thousands of dollars? Definitely a dealbreaker if I were a local and wanted to join. But if you're a business traveler and like to work out on the road like me, this is a great place to work up a sweat. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Time and time again, The Bellevue Club does not disappoint. The state of the art facilities, great customer service, and wonderful atmosphere. Whether relaxing alongside the pool or getting together with you friends for a few cocktails, it's a place all around. Bonus- Great childcare options for while you're using the facilities at The Bellevue Club

Scheila H.

Yelp
For the amount of money that they charge, they could do much better. I especially have problem with the sauna/ steam room area. There should be some relaxing chair/ area over there to seat and cool down after coming out of sauna, like the ones I have seen at Pro-sport. Also, outside the library, where people are trying to focus, do work or read is alway TOO LOUD. The event room is righ next to it and when there is some event going on, you can forget focusing. The staff and hotel guests talk loud right outside the library. They don't even bother to close the library door.

Yelp
Great facilities but always crowded- impossible to get reasonable indoor tennis court times and lap swimming is rarely available unless you go midweek in the middle of the day.

Yelp
I loved loved loved this club!!! Went swimming with friends, ate at Splash. Had deelliish coconut shrimp, pizza, grilled cheese ( my kid did) and fantastic salads. Moderately priced and SO FRIENDLY!!!!!!!!

Yelp
We held a sales training event here. Beware if you say your trading is 8-5 they expect you out at 5. We needed to do work to set up for day 2 and 3 and they wanted us out! By the time people from class left it was 5:30 and they even turned out the lights on us to get us to leave. Trainings don't just happen planning time is needed! We tried to get in at 6 am to set up and we couldn't even do that! We didn't get water refills in the afternoon to the pitchers on the table.

Yelp
Not only is Bellevue Club tucked away from busy highways but it is very easy to locate right off of the highway. Why more people don't know about Bellevue Club is absolutely baffling to me. I have to admit I was one of those, completely oblivious to the hidden gem off of 405. That is until the day I got engaged and freaked out about finding a venue. All I knew was that I wanted it to be in a hotel and in Bellevue and that is where my good friend Google came to my rescue. I made a list of prospects and after calling all the Wyatts and Chariots of the area and being terrified by their prices I came across the Bellevue Club and immediately fell in love. The venue itself is gorgeous, there is so much greenery and beautiful structures throughout the property that there is no need to offsite to different location for photos! It is attached to a Sports Club with outdoor tennis courts, a yoga studio, a large basketball court, indoor track and Olympic sized swimming pool! They are very upfront and straightforward about their pricing and different packages for events - everything is spelled out on their website and is updated frequently in their dandy Wedding Planning Guide. I worked with Jill throughout the planning process. She was very responsive to all of my emails and phone calls and despite the 3 hour time zone difference (at the time) it was never an issue for us. She clearly knew what she was doing and gave us a lot of ideas for planning. What I loved about Jill was that she was straight to the point, when I asked her about extras such as flowers and decorations - she would look me straight in the eye and tell me not to waste my money. For our wedding we went with the Grandview Buffet which included: 2 appetizers, a fruit display, salad, a seafood display, two entrees, a carving station, a side dish, bread, vegetables and chocolate covered strawberries. There were many different food choices that were prepared for us to choose from, but prior to the tasting session we were able to customize and change around different sauces and foods to make it our own. Another HUGE bonus that Bellevue Club provided me was flowers at each table! They even will customize the colors to match your theme. I had some funky candle center pieces that would have looked strange with an additional vase, so Jill worked with me and provided me with fresh coral rose petals. Bellevue Club really knows how to pamper newlyweds! Throughout the entire ceremony, the staff ensured that when we had the buffet set up that we were the first ones who did a walk through - they even had a staff member one assigned to myself and the other to my husband to pile food onto our plates. Another awesome perk of holding your ceremony at Bellevue Club is that they also provide the newlyweds with a room - it is worth mentioning that they upgraded us to a suite. WOO! The suite itself was amazing, not only was it a great setting for photos throughout the day there was 2 separate bathrooms and a living area and a balcony! The bathroom was huge, there was both a standing shower and a bathtub - equipped with bath salts and a loofah. There is nothing better than soaking your screaming feet in the tub after such a long day! Waiting for us in our room after the day of crazy was a bottle of champagne, a thoughtful card from the staff, chocolate covered strawberries and finger sandwiches. Months leading up to the wedding was crazy and terrifying but Jill and Bellevue Club were so helpful and created my dream wedding! Thank you for everything! A few things to note: - Parking is free! No need for validation or membership, parking is open to all. - If you are a guest at the hotel, you get free access to their sports club. - For weddings, ask them for their discount packages for your guests.

Yelp
Was interested in joining this club for fitness, kid activities, other amenities. It was also so close to home. Unfortunately the childcare left much to be desired. It's one small room where kids of all ages are limited to. When we passed by, the two kids inside (3-4yo?) were on chairs zoned out to a movie while the childcare worker was not entertaining/doing anything. I'd prefer the areas to be separated by age, for there to be no tv (my child is too small for screen time) and for the space to be larger. Considering the volume of real estate and rooms with no purpose at this gym one would think to prioritize childcare. I wouldn't feel good about leaving my kid to workout here ever. This building also felt like it had many useless rooms/awkward layout and felt like a maze walking through with not a lot of natural sunlight. Really wanted to like it more. Positives: has restaurants, tennis, pool. For the massive initiation fee these problems should not exist though. Good curb appeal but overall dated indoors.

Matt K.

Yelp
I WAS a member of the Bellevue Club for for about 8 years and in that time I came to dislike this place. Sure, its a great place to go and hang with your friends or even just relax alone. However, I go to the gym for one reason... to workout.... and this place just has far to many " jaw jackers" and niceties for my liking. Now, I know this is a "health club" and as far as everything else is concerned its fantastic. The spa is great, the pool is great, the aerobics, spinning classes , basketball courts, restaurants etc etc etc are all amazing... I go to the gym to workout, with the gym purist in mind, this is not that place to go.

M H.

Yelp
I am so disappointed with this club that I joined Yelp just to write this review. My major problem is with the club's aquatics department. They make it extremely hard for us to schedule swim lessons for our kids. They have insufficient group lessons available because they have huge problems with turnover of instructors and for those few that remain, their incentives are to provide private lessons. That was fine, we were willing to pay for private lessons. Now, they have changed their policy for how one signs up for private lessons and they gave away our lesson time without ever giving us the chance to renew. They expect parents to now sitt by their computers until just past midnight, every six weeks so that you can get a shot at a private lesson for your kids. For a very expensive and premier sports club, they take their members for a fool. If swimming lessons for you kids is one of the reasons why you are looking to join this club, you may want to make sure that that is even a feasibility.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
This is a nice club...and definitely the most family friendly sports club in the area. The pool is great. The racquetball courts are nice too. The tennis courts get busy a lot though. There are a lot of kids running around because family membership is a good deal here (they have a flat charge for family membership whether you have 1 kid or 20 kids). If you don't like kids and just want to get a serious workout, it's fine for that too. The locker room is nice and plush with good showers and nice products.

Yelp
I always feel like I am on vacation when I'm at Bellevue Club. This is a wonderful place to take friends and clients. On a rainy day; the huge amazing faciity helps transform you to a mini vacation. The food at Polaris is very good, the happy hour is great. It is a little spendy, and they aren't really fast, but it is wonderful when you are there with a friend or client you want to spend time with.

Yelp
This was the perfect venue for our reception. We checked out a number of venues on the eastside (Columbia Winery, Hollywood Schoolhouse, various golfclubs, the Hyatt, Westin, and Harbor Club in Bellevue etc), but once I saw the Bellevue Club, I knew it was just right. They renovated the ballroom a few years ago and now it has more of a modern feel (although the carpet is pretty bold.) One of the best features is that the walls already has built in uplighting that can be adjusted to multiple different colors so you'll save $$$ since you won't need to hire anyone for special lighting. You have to go with their own caterers which is really a good thing since their food is delicious! We had the miso salmon, chicken, an d pepper tenderloin for our main entrees. Many of our guests told us how good the food was and my only regret is that we didn't ask for a to-go box so I could grab a late bite right after the wedding (since during the reception I wasn't really hungry). The Bellevue Club also has some beautiful grounds to take your photos at - we used their tennis courts for a more unusual backdrop. Also included in booking with them is a complimentary room at their hotel (Hotel Bellevue) which was great since after the wedding all we had to do was head on upstairs. The room was very modern with all the amenities we needed as well as a complimentary cheese platter and some champagne. Booking details: There is no "venue" fee which is good, but there is a $10000 food and beverage minimum for weekends. We had approximately 145 guests so we just met the minimum for food (not sure how much the alcohol bill added up to). Service: The service at the reception was great - The waitstaff always made sure our drink glasses were full and checked in multiple times if we needed anything. For our wedding cake, they gave us a platter with each of our flavors (black forrest, taro, and mango) and even held our plates at the buffet so we wouldn't mess on ourselves. They also gave me a huuugge 'bib' so I didn't spill anything on my white dress. Anastasia and Andrew were our banquet managers and everything was perfect when we arrived (I had some pretty specific instructions on how I wanted things to look and everything was exactly as planned). Their team even went dumpster diving when we realized that something was accidently thrown in the trash. Prior to the wedding, I worked with Howard in sorting out the details of reception and food etc - he was always prompt to return emails and phonecalls. The only thing that went "wrong" was that I thought we had ordered a salad for our buffet but got asparagus instead. However, looking back, that was partially my fault since I didn't look over the menu details we got a few days before the wedding to double check that everything was in order.

Yelp
I attended work function couple of months ago. I gave my car to valet. When I returned two hours later, the valet who handed me my car reeked of cigarettes. As I got into car, I smelled smoke. I thought it was due to valet but the smell never went away as I drove home. I called the club as I drove and talked to the valet. He mentioned that maybe someone dragged cigarette butt in the car. I found one in my car once I got home. I talked to a manager Garrett on the phone who promised to pay to get my car cleaned. I got it clean, Pro Club did an amazing job of getting rid of nasty smell. I sent in receipt. I never heard back. I called and talked to kelly who promised to resolve and pay fee. It's now been few weeks and no payment. I am disappointed that such a club would have such bad customer service. Why would they hire valet who smoke near cars to drag it in car? So unprofessional. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Yelp
This place is remarkable. Really special, nowhere else like it. I really prefer it over the WAC, for sure. I would say it is nearly perfect. The only things I'm not crazy about are the parking lot, and the way it feels a little nickel and dimey. The buy in and monthly fee are what you would expect, and a good value in my opinion. This isn't a 24 hour fitness. It's not for everyone - but it is for me. My issue is that you have to pay for classes. You can do it a la carte, or buy what amounts to an all access pass. The later is pretty expensive. I would suggest just raising the monthly fee and have all classes included. You are going to be paying over 300.00 a month one way or another anyway (for a family membership). I love this place.

Yelp
Our family has been members since 1995. The staff has always been professional, helpful, and amazing beyond words! The facility is constantly being updated and is always current with the classes they offer, spotless locker rooms etc, so much equipment there's never a wait, three great restaurants (their pricing is much less then the local restaurants and top quality), and all the staff are eager to please. It's our home away from home

Yelp
Dated locker rooms and old bathrooms with ugly toilets. Brown hard paper towels that they offer to dry hands are horrible and they are scattered around the bathroom floor. No parking available ever - even at 6 am! Equipment in the gym is outdated and seriously scary to use. For $5000 entry fee I was expecting much more. The fee is non refundable and you can only claim it after 30 years. I am stuck now.

Yelp
I just stayed at the Bellevue club hotel Very nice room at a fair price Spent time in the club and at the gym As a member of a reciprocal club in Vancouver I have read the reviews with interest This is a very good club Beautifully decorated and outstanding facilities The fees are very reasonable considering the high level of facilities This is not a basic gym but a family and tennis club Those looking for a gym and concerned about the fees should look elsewhere But for people looking for a great place for families, this appears perfect As for additional costs for programs, programs cost money whether at this club or at another gym or community centre This is not a cheap facility to maintain, but is of very high quality You get what you pay for!

Yelp
Overall a great family club. There are ample classes and equipment. Great pool, basketball court, and tennis courts. The only thing I wish the club had is a bigger free weight section and a bigger parking lot. The parking seriously sucks.

Yelp
Our child is ready for a swimming team and I was referred here by her coach from Issaquah Fitness. I have emailed the coach here for information of how to enroll my child. No one has contacted me. It seems they have enough kids in the swimming team? I am still looking for a great swimming team and we thought we could enroll our child here.

Yelp
Read all the glowing reviews and were very excited to join. We've been at other high end clubs and have an idea of what to expect. This was a bad joke... We walked in this Sunday morning and met this knucklehead at the counter. He was too busy with his computer to even make eye contact. We also noticed (kids and wife included) that he kept touching himself - not in sick kind of way, rather rearranging his gear, but still!!! When we asked for someone to give us a tour and discuss membership options, he seemed irritated and informed us that he's already had this conversation once before with other people... not sure why/how that was relevant. Bottom line: there was nobody available to show us around and sign us up. On a Sunday morning at 11 AM! At a supposedly high end sports club in downtown Bellevue! He told us to either fill out a flimsy contact card or come back another time. Really?!

Yelp
Wow, Bellevue Athletic Club is incredibly overpriced. For a single person, the initiation fee is $2,500 and then the monthly dues are $166. And that's just the "athletic" membership, which apparently doesn't include the "social" membership. Crazy. Who would pay that? Even the fancy Equinox I belonged to in San Francisco wasn't that expensive. Obviously there must be a serious shortage of decent gyms in Bellevue.

Yelp
The Bellevue Athletic club is well-managed from top to bottom. The facilities are pristine and everyone who workers there is all around enjoyable. There is a a little something for everyone and it is not overly crowded. I came as a guest with a family member and if I lived in the area I would highly recommend a membership!

Yelp
Great place but it really makes me insecure when I go up to the weight machines and people are lifting like 200 pounds and then I have to set the weight to like 80 and I look around and hope nobody's looking at how weak I am everybody's really strong in this club I guess it's because they pay a lot of money so they work out a lot because they want to get their moneys worth anyway I like they have free tea in the locker room great place

Yelp
As current members of the Bellevue Club, we are thinking of cancelling our membership. The pros: clean, great facility (the pool is great), the locker rooms are clean and well-stocked with hair dryers, flat irons etc., even Q-tips and cotton balls, making it great for packing a light gym bag. The classes are organized with good instructors, (especially 6am barre MWF). The cons: they seem to nickel and dime you...you have to pay extra to take the classes which should be included in the monthly membership fee, the classes cater to the stay-at-home parent and Senior demographic, as most of their classes are between 9am and 5pm, with a very slim selection in the AM and after work hours. They introduce several new programs such as Insanity or other awesome sounding classes, however they charge an additional fee not included in your monthly dues or your monthly class fee. I understand the need to charge fees for workshops or other programs but it seems that there is an extra fee on everything. It makes me wonder where the monthly membership fee is going. My husband and I joined with the Young Professional Family Membership (discount for being under 30). We knew our dues would go up $100/month after we both turned 30, so the price increase isn't the issue or a surprise. The issue was when we called the membership office to ask questions about the price increase, if there were any options such as keeping us at the same monthly dues for 6 more months etc. They flat out said "No," which is understandable considering it is probably a club policy. The issue we had was that the guy on the phone didn't even pretend to care if we were members or not. We said we may need to cancel because of the increase and he said "okay, you just need to give 30 days notice," and couldn't have cared less about us cancelling. The club boasts it's community atmosphere and their drive for a younger membership base, but they certainly do not treat their members that way. All in all, it is a great facility, but it comes at a price and know you are just a $ sign.

Yelp
Wow ... I got lost roaming around the club while staying at the hotel. Huge basketball court, Olympic size indoor pools, multiple weight rooms. The array of fitness machines was enough for me to get a good arms/legs workout, and it all seemed well-maintained. Large windows let in plenty of light, and there were plenty of free weights in each room. Stations with cleanser and wipes were easily available. Music was decent and not obnoxiously loud. Classes seemed to be well-attended with enthusiastic instructors. As a hotel guest, it was great to have the centre available for an AM workout.

Yelp
I have been a member at the Bellevue club for almost my entire life. I never realized how amazing it was until I moved out of the state, and could not find another club or gym even relatively on the same level as BC! It's an amazing club. The gym facilities are new and big, and then trainers are some of the best in the country. I would recommend trying out Kinesis here as well. They have a giant pool facility and very nice lockers as well. I can't wait to move back to Seattle area in a few years just so I can continue my fitness activities at the Bellevue Club!

Yelp
I attended a continuing education course here. The amenities are hands down the best I've seen. The only issue I had was the parking!! Everything is compact parking and being in Seattle, we all drive the biggest baddest SUVs and sport sedans we can, so take that in to account....with 100 parking stalls ... really, there's only about 52 1/2 avail. ...and the valet was backed up around the block. We wound up across the street. Customer service is amazing as were the conference rooms. Four stars!

Yelp
We were members for 2 or 3 years. We loved the club! Unfortunately, we move to Palo Alto. We miss Bellevue club so much as there is nothing like this around here. Yes, there are clubs but BC has so much more to afford. I love that it never feels too crowded since there are so many rooms to workout. I took group tennis lessons on Friday: I had so much fun! I really like the lessons and the coaches were really nice. Groups weren't too big. My daughter took group lessons but I wasn't too crazy about them: I found that they were too big, the kids didn't really get to hit the balls so many times. We used to go for a swim and then, go to have dinner at splash. The outdoor pool in the summer is nice. We came to visit some friends over the summer and decided to stay at the hotel. The room was nice and big. The bathroom was a really good size. Everything clean and updated. We got to enjoy to the pool but they had changed their rules within the past 2 years: they weren't serving food by the pool which was a bummer. We got to go sit on the patio, really nice also. We are looking to move back to Bellevue at some points and getting our membership back is on my first priority!!! This is how much our family loves Bellevue Club!!!

Yelp
I love Bellevue Club. I have been a member all my life and would not want to belong to any other club. I love working out in the new gym facilities, and taking boot camp classes with John. My family regularly eats at Polaris, Splash and in the bar. The food is always great and the staff friendly. Make sure to visit the store, especially when they are having a sale. They have some great jewelry. My only request would be that Bellevue Club expand their spa to mirror other major Spas in the bellevue area.

Yelp
I wish I had written a lot sooner on how wonderful this hotel was. We stayed here on my brother-in-laws engagement night and everyone was so incredibly nice and accommodating to the surprise he had in store for his new fiance. The valet was helpful and genuine. The front desk was incredibly nice. Rooms and work out facility were outstanding. Even the people inside the gym were talkative (not in a bad way) but friendly welcoming way! The locker rooms were a maze but had comfortable chairs and couches, TVS, and a coffee/tea bar! If I could live there or afford to be a member I would not hesitate. I also had the pleasure of having a prenatal massage. I forget the name of my massage practitioner but she was excellent as well. They provide you with body pillows so you can lay on your stomach without any pressure or discomfort and have an almost normal massage. It was like laying on air. :) It was pricey but definitely worth it. After having a bad massage experience today, I feel like the price is warranted and will be making another appointment asap! Even when I am not staying there.

Yelp
I have been a member of this club for 2 years. Very family oriented with endless activities for the kids. Five stars to all the swimming instructors, they are great with kids of all ages. I just wish that the scheduling of swimming lessons would be more convenient to members-not staff. Making members call on a particular day at 8 am to get scheduled is a bit ridiculous. Perhaps e-mails!
