I stayed at this hotel as part of a $700 all-inclusive, one-week vacation in Havana.
The good: The location is excellent—quiet, yet still within a busy area, with some of the few good restaurants in the city within walking distance. My room (1105) had a stunning view, and the air conditioning worked very well. The TV was huge and brand new. I'm pretty sure a fire stick, etc would work. The rest of the furniture was pretty bare. The curtains kept falling and broke as soon as I opened the balcone.
Internet is $0.22 per hour, but it was reliable both in the room and throughout the hotel. The hotel is fairly tolerant of non-registered guests at the pool.
The pool itself is okay. Since the hotel offers inexpensive day passes, it tended to get busy with locals partying, loud music, and children playing throughout the day. The pool didn't really have any shade or lounge chairs. The design of the pool is also really strange in a way that half of it is very deep and the edge very high so everyone is stuck in half of it. Service can be hit or miss. The reception and room service pretty good but waitstaff quite disinterested but that’s typical of most hotels in cuba.
I would definitely return and use this hotel as a home base in Havana. While there were reports of bedbugs during my stay, I did not encounter any—though I recommend inspecting your room on check-in, as you should at any hotel.
