I've stayed at this hotel three times over a 30-year period, and have really enjoyed it every time. ||We stayed here for three nights to get over jetlag in a relaxed setting, after flying from Canada. It's a good place for that - easily accessible by train from the Frankfurt Airport (about 50 minutes to the Boppard train station from the airport, then a ten-minute walk from the train station to the hotel). There's lots to do in the Rhine Gorge if you are feeling energetic after your flight, and if you're not feeling energetic due to jetlag, you can have short days and relax on the riverfront. ||This time I stayed in a single room with Rhine view (cheaper than a double, which is what my friends had), and it was entirely adequate for one person. The room was quite large for a single room, had a very nice workdesk area, and lots of storage. Since the room was in the main building, which has rock-solid walls, it was very quiet. I loved sitting in the chair by the window watching the river traffic going by, mostly barges but also some cruise boats and ferries. The bathroom was quite small, particularly the shower, but it was adequate.||I don't believe this hotel has airconditioning, which was not a concern in early June, as the room was very comfortable even without the windows open. It might be a concern in late July. ||The buffet breakfast, as usual in a good-quality Germany hotel, was excellent, with a large selection of items (cold cuts, cheeses, various breads and pastries, some fruit, yogurt, as well as various choices of eggs, etc). ||In the past, when I have stayed here, I have had a car. This time we didn't, and it was still quite easy to get around in the Rhine Gorge. There is regular train service to Sankt Goar (Rheinfels Castle) and Bacharach. One day we went to Rudesheim, and that was also quite easy; we took the ferry which docks close to the hotel to get across to the other side of the river, walked the few hundred metres to the Filsen railway station, then took the train to Rudesheim. From Rudesheim we took a river cruise back to Boppard; the dock is almost opposite the hotel. ||Overall this was a great stay and a great hotel.

This hotel was used for our castles tour and it was fantastic! Room was very nice, we had a front balcony overlooking the Rhine. Food was top tier and all of the wait staff was very pleasant and helpful (special thanks to Dana!). The wine cellar dinner was so interesting and down right fun, learned some things about wine. Highly recommended.

Beautiful old hotel in a premium location along the Rhine. Rooms are vintage but well maintained and clean. Service at the desk was good. Great spot to walk to several nice restaurants and cafes, as well as some nice shops. I'll be reviewing the hotel restaurant "Le Bristol" separately, but in short the breakfast was great but the main meal we had there for dinner was awful, would not recommend it at all.

This is a great hotel to stay in, right on the Rhein, with a wonderful atmosphere inside and always good food. It is like stepping into a different world and you feel all the better for it. Breakfast is especially good, with a wide choice from which to eat, and you can sit alongside the river in the morning. Staying here is very much a tonic!

Google
Very old fashioned and in my opinion not in a good way. The rooms are basic BUT perhaps most surprisingly they are VERY hot, even at the end of October when it is not hot outside. The whole hotel seems overheated/stuffy. The food was fine. The service was slow. The decor is beyond dated.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel during our short trip at the Rhein. Dinner is also very fine so half pension is the best formula. The bartender Isaac is just awesome 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

It is a hotel in the GRAND style. Founded in 1878 and still in gamily ownership, 5th generation. Our room, 206, was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the Rhine. We had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast. Both were very good. This hotel is very clean with great staff. We could not fault the service.

We had previously stayed several times in the hotel's apartments a few metres along the road, but this time we decided to try staying in the hotel in a deluxe room with Rhine view. Room was large. Although the balcony was small, two of us fitted on it. Breakfast is excellent with a cook continually providing fresh eggs and breakfast on until 10.30am. Car parking is in a close by private garage with large spaces which is nice. Location is great right on the river Rhine. Staff are enthusiastic and friendly.

Yelp
We loved this older hotel with tons of ambiance. Great room, great breakfast, close to so many shops and the KD line right outside the door. Perfect. The elevators are a bit slow, but this hotel dates back to the early 30's so no problem. Ann and I stayed there with the European Castle tour there. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Excellent service at the front desk. They had all my information ready so check in was quick and easy. Room was nice. One queen bed. Mini bar. View over the Rhein. The KD river cruise line is just 20' from their feont door so that is super convenient. Train station just 500 m away. Within 100 m of several bars, bakeries, gift shops, and grocery store. Has an awesome indoor pool with jets so you can swim in one place. Also has jets to massage your legs and a fountain to massage your back. Sauna is fantastic. Steam bath present too. One of the best Beat Westerns that I have been to. And I have been to a lot.

Yelp
We booked one of the luxury apartments that they advertise online. The room as spectacular. The directions on parking and getting into the hotel was the worst. We arrived and had trouble finding where to park. I went in and got the hotel key and was advised to park in the garage. You would never find this garage unless someone walked you to it. It was 9pm and you could not see the signs (no lights) and you had to wave your key card at a sensor to open the garage to get in. After several minutes of trying to find the garage and looping around (one way streets), we went back in and asked someone to walk down to show us. A very nice gentleman that works there took us back down and showed us where to park. He opened the door for us and said that he wanted to make sure that the key card worked for our rim. It did not. He said that they were having issues with new locks. Our keys did not work. He let us in and then we would come down to the bar and get a new key. We got the key, had some snacks and drinks. We walked back to the apartment area at about 10:30. The keys did not work. We called down to someone that came out about 10 minutes later came down to open the door. The room and view were beautiful. We checked out the next morning around 9am. No issues other than what I wrote, but found it frustrating that we never had a working key to our room during our entire stay.

Yelp
Hotel's location is great and some room have decent view of the river. Rooms size is ok but our bathroom was very inconvenient. Since it had pedestal sink we had very little place to put our amenities. The tub/ shower combo was dangerous. Water always ended up in slippery bathroom floor and we had to use all the towels to dry after each bath. We also had an unexplained 50 Euro charge as business package on our bill. It was sneaky to add in there as we were in a hurry when leaving. The room was booked through Expedia. The internet was already included with room and all room service charges were listed separately. Left a bad taste in our mouth otherwise we enjoyed our visit to Germany.

Yelp
Very fine hotel on the Rhein. Staff was very helpful with train and boat info and locations. Breakfast was the best. Sitting on the deck with a bottle of wine watching the boats is so relaxing and this hotel has that. Would love to come back and do more battlefield touring, eating and drinking. This place is my choice.

Yelp
Great choice, small hotel right on the river. Great Breakfast with great views. Good staff. Hotel is old, but clean. Indoor pool. Small bar in the lobby. Good choice.

Yelp
Great location, right on the water and convenient to shopping/restaurants. The room was fine, we were "upgraded," which was tiny with a street view, but it was comfortable and clean with good water pressure. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast, which is not included, (11 euros) was great, the best we've had for a german buffet breakfast. Free WiFi is always plus!
