Bellissimo Bistro

What a gem! The food was incredible. The atmosphere is so warm, cozy and quaint. Service was excellent. It is the perfect spot for a date night. We will be back!

Came to Bellissimo a couple weeks ago when I was visiting St Johns! What a great little bistro! The team who worked there were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient! Food was delicious! Restaurant was clean, and had a great atmosphere! I went an hour to closing, so I had no trouble getting a table! I would highly recommend visiting for lunch or supper!!

I was a bit disappointed with the food during my visit. The vodka rosé pasta reminded me of Kraft Dinner, and the mussels came in a meat sauce that I found a little off-putting. The risotto was okay. The service could have been better as well, as our waitress seemed somewhat standoffish. Super expensive too for the quality.

Supreme Chicken Alfredo - best I've had. Fantastic tiramisu (and I am a connoisseur of tiramisu, if I do say myself). Service was friendly, fast and helpful, with advice and arranging takeout of the tiramisu. Nice atmosphere and music. Good separation of tables for privacy. Went on a Thursday night without a reservation. But I think we were just lucky and only two. Recommend a reservation. Definitely will return if in St. John's. Have already recommended it to friends.

We visited bellissimo yesterday for dinner.. the food and service was amazing. Our waiter recommended the lasagna and Caesar salad, which both were incredible. The Caesar salad has real bacon, homemade Caesar dressing and croutons.. so delicious! And the lasagna is made from scratch as well. The tiramisu is 10/10.. definitely worth trying! You are also able to view the chef cooking each meal, as the kitchen is open to the seating area. I will definitely visit again!!

Had a disappointing experience my first time dining here. My partner loves pasta and Italian food, and we thought the pasta was made fresh. Unfortunately after we received our meals we could immediately tell it was not fresh pasta at all. Asked the server, and she said only some of the dishes are made from fresh pasta, neither of which we ordered. Seems outrageous to pay $30 for a plate of box spaghetti.

If I could leave a 10-Star review I would. I want it to be known. I consider myself an Alfredo connoisseur. I’ve tried probably over 100+ different restaurants over the last decade. None as good as this place! It was fate. One of my favourite meals is stuffed pasta (preferably with chicken or beef) with Alfredo’s. They had it as a special this fine evening! Their drink special, another favourite — Strawberry Moscow Mule. This meal could not have been more catered to my taste palette.

Best Service and meal I've had in a long time! Wedding anniversary supper. Friday, Sept.1, 2023, 6pm. It was busy! Wait staff were genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. Sarah was our server and was great fun! Bruschetta to start, excellent! Bomba sauce, made fresh in house, is the best! Chicken Parm and Braciole for mains. Delicious and perfectly cooked. Dessert: affogato and cannoli. I cannot wait to return!

Great service, great food, nice little casual local gem. Would recommend if your looking for a well cooked meal.

We had a very long wait for our dinner which was a simple salad and spaghetti with meat balls. The chef was cooking one meal at a time and even for a small place it took a while. The spaghetti was good, didn't care for the balls. Our server was great and the atmosphere fine. I would go back to try the espresso side of things.

So we woke up after the Saint Patricks celebration and we were starving for brunch. The friends where we were staying suggested us to go to Bellissimo, that was nearby. We looked at the menu on Yelp and the brunch menu looked very good. We arrived at this cozy restaurant (I think it was built in a house) and were greeted with a friendly server. We started with a very good cup of coffee. From the choices on the brunch menu I took the skillet: hash brown potatoes topped with eggs, cheese, mushrooms, onions and bacon with hollandaise sauce. Every bite was perfect. I even took the traditional toutons on the side. My boyfriend took the traditional breakfast and fell in love with the peameal bacon. The server always made sure that everything was ok and that our coffees and water were refilled. I recommend this place for brunch, but apparently it's even better for dinner!

Opened only 3 weeks ago this Italian Torontonian transplanted from Hog Town for family. Italian roots are evident in the menu and his Italian mom's traditional Cold Expresso shows up gratis for the sampling. Breakfast was good and the service warm, fast and very friendly. They don't make their own desserts but the cinnamon bun was outstanding! I'd be curious to try the other pastries when they sort out the offerings. A simple dinner menu bodes well for a start-up. Keep it short and do it well. I say give it go and hopefully these guys will knock it put of the park!

Excellent service at lunch, and the 3 itemcombo was quite good, and the portions were generous. Looking forward to going back for dinner.

Best Italian food. Chef Joey is the best. If you want great food look no further. Great service and quality food. I eaten everywhere for pasta and I will only come to bellissimo for my fix. You will not regret it. And their cannoli yum yum.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch after touring the brewery. We were pleasantly surprised with our lunch. I had minestrone soup and my husband had olive tapenade with crostini. We will definitely visit again for a larger meal when and if we return to St. John's.

Back visiting from Ontario, doing the tourist thing around the city. Stopped into Bellissimo Bistro for a coffee break and light snack. From what I remember there isn't a whole lot of neighborhood places like this around the city so its a delight to support one. Very casual atmosphere with excellent coffee choices. Met an owner, Joe who shares the business with other in the family. Very nice guy that was helpful in deciding on what to eat and drink. We ended up sharing a bruschetta as a snack and it was very tasty and refreshing. Thanks for the lovely time and we will be back for dinner on our next trip home!
