Absolutely loved my experience at this place! The food is exceptional, and the service is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. You definitely get your money's worth here. The ambiance transports you straight to Europe, creating a truly delightful dining experience. Highly recommend!

We had a nice experience at this Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Quebec City. The atmosphere was lovely, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. They use a wood stove, which adds to the authentic feel, and they serve fresh olives on the plates—such a nice touch! The food is high quality, and they offer good options for kids as well. We ordered pizza—although it wasn’t exactly to my taste, everything else, including the service, was great. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. Beautiful location and worth a visit!

This was our last night in Quebec city. We had walked by the restaurant earlier in the day and the menu looked good so we made a reservation for later that night. We got there about 10 minutes early and the restaurant was actually quite lively! When we walked in, it was very warm inside. Even though the windows were open, it would’ve been nice if they had some fans blowing the air around. Air conditioning would’ve been better, but I guess everybody doesn’t have that in Quebec city. With the air being so warm it made it very uncomfortable in the restaurant. I don’t know how the wait staff was running around like they were, they were working very hard. Anyway, my partner set it out with a glass of wine and I just had a diet Pepsi. He ordered bread and he ate all of it, I passed on bread tonight. We both shared the meatball appetizer and we thought the meatballs and the sauce were very good. The tomato sauce was very simple and very tasty. My partner ordered the rigatoni and sausage and I had the rigatoni with Bolognese sauce. Both dishes were excellent. We ordered half portions because we were super hungry. Nice restaurant, and if we’re ever back in the city, we will check it out again.

Google
Bello did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the evening. We were seated promptly. The service was spot on and the meal, one of the best we have ever eaten. You will not regret a meal here.

Google
The atmosphere is very cozy. The server was friendly and knew about food allergies. The food was high quality hot and tasty. Lots of gluten free options, just none in a cream sauce.

Google
The food, service and atmosphere were all equal in every way. We were a little early for our reservation but they were able to accommodate us without making us feel like we were inconveniencing them. The food was cooked perfectly and everything the waiter suggested ended up being big hits. The Bolognese pasta is by far one of the best meals I had while I was in Quebec City. I would definitely suggest making a reservation as this seems to be a local hit.

Google
Make sure to book your reservation! Such a classy place atmosphere top-tier! I love that they had the option to get a smaller size plate specially because when you’re on your vacation, you’re not trying to bring food back with you to the hotel food was delicious. I waitress was so nice and beautiful 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend.

Google
We are from North Carolina, USA and we’ve been here twice; first time in 2023 and again just last week. This is by far my absolute favorite place in Quebec City! Everything from the food to the drinks to the service is outstanding! This place alone is enough to make me travel back for a perfect meal in every way. And we will absolutely be back soon!

Yelp
Oh, Hello Bello! If you love Italian food, definitely make reservations for Bello in Quebec City. Luckily our hotel made these last minute bar reservations for us and we were so glad that he did. Sexy ambiance, with their low lights and clubbish-vibes but in a good way. The music mood was an excellent one. Servers are very distiguished and polished. Extreme elegance here but don't worry you don't have to get all dressed up but I would recommend wearing something nice. Upon being greeted by a friendly host we were seated at the bar which is usually our normal spot. Our bartender was very friendly and efficient. We started off with a glass of Montepulciano red wine and Arancini. My husband also had French Onion Soup which he said was the best ever. I ordered a salad for myself. Since they are known for Italian we shared their Proscuitto Pizza. It was well cooked and crispy just to our liking. The dough wasn't all that heavy either. We also ordered one of their coffee drinks which was half Baileys, half Frangelico topped with Espresso. They were so good and perfect to end our meal with. I know I am going to try and make them at home sometime. Bello is definitely a restaurant to dine in while visiting Quebec. It was expensive but again definitely worth it. I know we will be back hopefully next year again. Cheers!

Yelp
Good service, nice ambience, and the best veal I have had in my life! If you're in Quebec go here. And on the edge of the old city so great location.

Yelp
Little did I know that Quebec City had such great Italian food until our tour guide told us. We tried Bello since we thought it was cool it was the same name as the Minionese word for hello. We were beyond impressed and had such unique food we haven't had before including the Tagliatelle All'Anatra which comprises of Tagliatelle, duck confit, cloth-wrapped foie gras, pine nut, mascarpone, and fig chutney and the Tonno Cotta A Metà which contains Seared tuna, mango and tequila emulsion, grilled vegetables, quinoa, almonds, artichokes. We also had Canadian beer and red wine. The service was great and the ambiance was similiar to La Buche, their sister Quebecois restaurant, but with an Italian flair. The newspaper style menu was a particularly amazing touch.

Yelp
We had a bit of a mixed experience here. Bread was delicious. Caprese was good. My seafood risotto was also good. My husband really didn't like his chorizo risotto. And the restaurant is super tight--they really pack people in. Also the music choices weren't great.
google avatar

Anita A.

Yelp
Service was a bit lacking for this type of restaurant. They forgot my drink twice and never got my water. Scallop risotto - was good, but I've had better. I would try something else. Scallops were overcooked and risotto was a bit too salty. Tiramisu - the lady fingers weren't soaked in coffee and it's a dry lady finger.not impressed.

Lauren K.

Yelp
We ended up here on our first night in Quebec City and it was the best experience! The pasta and pizzas were amazing and the waiters were all so friendly and kind. Skip the other tourist traps around here (cough couch Polina pizzeria) and go here instead! We would definitely go back if ever back in the area.

Yelp
Great Rigatoni Carbonara and Taglatelle Canard. Arancini appetizer to die for. Taste buds exploded. Maria very good and attentive.

Yelp
We had a terrific meal here tonight - had to go early, as we could only get a 5:00 reservation (and they said we would have to be out by 6:30). My husband and I shared the Caesar Salad for 2 (actually could have fed 4!). It was excellent. He had the veal scaloppine with mushrooms, and I had the tuna with a mango tequila emulsion, served with quinoa. Excellent. Oh, and the Bello cake (chocolate with sea salt caramel) for dessert :) Beautiful place, full to capacity by the time we left.

Yelp
Inside the old walls of Quebec City at dinnertime I was skeptical of almost every restaurant I saw. Desperate not to wind up in a tourist trap with awful food, as had happened recently in Montreal, spotting Bello was a relief. It traded in Italian fare, not French, had a buzz about it owing to a modern ambiance, and sported enough diners that I feared I might not be able to get a seat. Happily, I was seated here without a reservation but the first seat they supplied was at the bar (no problem) and right in the heat path of the nearby pizza oven (huge problem). When I said there was no way I could sit there - voila - a table magically appeared. So speak up. Bello's pastas aren't, unfortunately, made in house but they make up for that with comically large portions. Seeing the volume of pasta on other plates, I was happy to have ordered only a half-serving of Linguini Bolognese. Accompanied by a bottle of wine and a Calamari Fritti starter, it was clear I'd made a good choice this time. Perhaps you're not in French Canada seeking Italian fare but if what you really want is a place where you can get a satisfying meal inside the walls of Old Quebec, Bello is a very good option.

Yelp
This place was packed! The seating was near each other, it was pretty loud to me and it was on the dark side. The service was top notch and the food was worth it! I'm not a big Italian person but I do like to try new things. It was a little difficult for me to decide on what I wanted since I normally don't eat pasta so I asked the server what he'd recommend for me. He asked a couple questions and steered me in a direction and it did not disappoint. I ended up with the seared veal with lemon sauce. The lemon was pretty strong so once I got the balance of sauce, veal and pasta right it was great. They serve little bread loads. All the bread in Quebec was great! You can't go wrong any where getting a fresh loaf and this was no exception. Seared Veal 8.5/10 Seafood Pasta 8.5/10 Bread 9/10 The overall experience was a little much for me with the noise, close proximities to others and dim lighting but I'm not going to let that negatively impact the score as it's just my personal preference. I only mention it for others to consider. I would return because the food was great and would be worth the experience again.

Yelp
Beautiful building and I am learning that most restaurants in this city are open space with no AC so it was uncomfortably warm. Service was efficient and food came out of the kitchen fairly quick. We had the linguini meat sauce bolognese. Light on the marinara sauce but delicious. They offer half or full portions. We also had the scallop risotto. The sautéed scallops were tender and sweet. This dish also was good. Overall, good food not great but worth a stop in. So many options in the city to choose from making a second trip here unlikely for me.

Yelp
Well came over to Quebec City and visited Bello ristorante and it was a great experience quite content with the food and service. Victor was great at our needs and always making sure we were taken care of. Will visit again when in Quebec City. The ambiance was superb they did provide a small amount of light but it provides the ambience more romantic
google avatar

Tony T.

Yelp
Very crowded, but the staff remained attentive and friendly. We both had pasta dishes, and everything was super fresh. Really liked the cozy vibe, and never felt like we were rushed, even knowing that was going to be another round of seating after we left.

Yelp
Visiting Quebec and had a dinner reservation with my partner and their parents. Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. Our water was refilled regularly and everyone was so kind. I love how the restaurant lights kept becoming a bit dimmer as the sun went down, it was beautiful and set a calming mood for the night.

Yelp
My wife and I visited on a very busy Friday evening and luckily we had reservations. We scored a nice quiet table in the corner where it was quieter and less foot traffic. A very trendy and modern vibe. After you place your order, we received a complimentary basket of bread with dipping oil and vinegar. We began with a very tasty order of grilled calamari. Cooked fresh and served hot. Excellent start. Our entrees consisted of a full order of the Linguine Bolognese and a half order of the Linguine with Pesto. If you have a healthy appetite, go with the full order, which I finished. Both dishes were very impressive. The Linguine Bolognese had an impressive amount of meat in their sauce and it was tasty. My wife loved her linguine pesto and was able to finish the half order. Both orders came out fresh and hot. No room for dessert. The service was excellent and friendly. Our waiter spoke fluent English. The prices were very reasonable considering you are within the walls of old town Quebec. If you are staying in the upper town, it's a short walk from most hotels.

Yelp
This place is absolutely fantastic, perfect ambience, quiet, little settings. Service and management very attentive. We've had the best fried calamari we ever had! Manger and staff were amazing!! Cocktails were great!! Highly recommend dining at this restaurant!

Rhonda L.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The food was delicious. They have an amazing Caesar salad for two which I strongly recommend. I particularly wanted to give a shout out to manager and staff, who were incredibly hard-working and professional. It was by far the best restaurant we went to in Quebec city. We liked it so well we went there twice.

Michelle H.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance all 5 stars!! Staff is incredibly friendly and responsive.
google avatar

Ellise C.

Yelp
Service was good, but the food honestly wasn't worth its price. You can tell that quality ingredients weren't used and the noodles in the linguini pasta we ordered were a bit undercooked. If I'm paying over $100 US dollars for food, shouldn't it be good quality? Ambiance was good though as Quebec is beautiful. If I'm being honest, I don't recommend this place, find somewhere better.

Elly P.

Yelp
We order two different pasta and one pizza but all of them were just too salty. Only thing we liked was bread.

Lora B.

Yelp
I felt like they select who to place where. When we came in they judged us and gave us the worst table in the back corner exit when they had plenty of tables available. Maybe because we didn't speak FrenchThe people we spoke to didn't have a reservation and got a nice table. We had ants on our table. Of course I didn't say anything to cause any problems. The food was ok. I think just the way we were treated ruined it all.

Yelp
My friends and I saw the crowd outside Bello Ristorante the day before we decided to come to this restaurant. Food and drink here didn't make us disappointed. We had a bottle of Verema Seleccion (Red wine). Sharing of food, - Caprese: Italian salad, made of sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes. - Minestrone: is a thick soup of Italian origin made with vegetables. - Zuppa di Cipolla: French onion soup. - Salmon tartare - Vongole: spaghetti with clams. Service was very friendly and nice.

Gail M.

Yelp
The food, service and ambience was lovely. Three of us had French onion soup followed by a delicious pizza. We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon.
google avatar

Tim R.

Yelp
First, the service was excellent, second, the appetizers were top notch. We had the creamy fondue breaded parmigiana thingy and the Sicilian rice balls. The caprese salad was also delicious. The evening was going great until the main dishes arrived. The pizza was wanting. Odd acidic sauce, flat, lifeless crust and mediocre cheese (we even got the buffalo mozzarella). The pesto tasted like it had vinegar in it or maybe it was filled with preservatives. Not, sure what was wrong but it was positively rank. Now, back to the service, the waiter didn't even blink and remedied it. However, once chance to make a first impression means we were left unimpressed. Funny, but we had a far superior pizza in the center Royal Place at the most touristy restaurant there was.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Elegant, yet kid-friendly, this place has delicious pizza and pasta. The service was great, and we loved the ambiance.
google avatar

Teddi M.

Yelp
It was an average visit. We had a pizza which was good. And the pasta carbonara which was good not great. The atmosphere was very nice to sit outside. Service was average.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Here!!!!! This is the Italian restaurant to go to. We went through all the reviews of all the Italian restaurants. We decided to stop here because it was the closest to where we were and the menu items sounded tasty. Generous portions. Delicious food. Great service. My wife and I were over the top impressed with this restaurant. When I eventually come back to Quebec, this will be the spot we eat with our friends.
google avatar

Neelam P.

Yelp
Solid pizza options, 4 cheese was a little too cheesy for us but the Margherita was really good. Linguine with tomato sauce was flavorful as was the linguine with mushrooms.

Jeanette W.

Yelp
Oh my! What a fabulous way to spend a special evening in Quebec City. We got reservations by calling earlier in the day, and from the moment we walked in we felt like royalty. I whispered to the host it was a birthday for my sister and it was the most Wow night. On top of the food being the best. Can't go wrong with anything you eat. Thank you to the staff for an amazing experience!
google avatar

Natalie R.

Yelp
Wonderful lunch spot with 1/2 size pasta portions that are huge. Delicious salad and pastas and fresh warm bread. Had a great server and experience.
google avatar

Nadia N K.

Yelp
Well- this was a little treasure find. Amazing service-not rushed at all. Calamari was yum-arugula salad was yum. Clams and linguine were perfect!!! Love the staff!!

Samantha F.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice and wine was good but that's about where it ends. Maybe we're spoiled by amazing Italian food at home in NJ, but both of our meals tasted like nothing at all. I ordered the tagliatelle frutti de mare and my husband ordered the pan fried cod. The fish and shellfish was technically well cooked, but tasted like literally nothing at all. There seemed to be no salt or seasoning of any kind on any element of either dish. We normally leave with clean plates, but left about half of our meals because there was just no point in eating when it was the most bland meal we've ever had. Not worth the price tag for sure.
google avatar

Beth D.

Yelp
Thankfully I had made reservations ahead of time because it was very busy! Despite the full restaurant, we had impeccable service the entire meal. We were given time and space to enjoy our meal but never felt neglected. In the reservation, I noted we were celebrating our anniversary. We were brought glasses of champagne immediately after being seated - great touch! To start, we shared the insalata di rucola. It was a crisp salad with a great dressing. The salad was light and flavorful. We then ordered the half size of the penne al pesto and the ravioli all'aragosta. The penne was perfect with full flavor pesto and we wished we would have ordered the full. The lobster ravioli was good, but not our favorite. It was very heavy so be prepared should you order it. Highly recommend a stop here if you are in Quebec City!
google avatar

Diane M.

Yelp
rude manager. had reservations for 6, confirmed then said we had no reservation. sat at the bar and could not even sit near my husband... we all left! same thing happened to the couple before us.

Sandra O.

Yelp
You do need a reservation! You get a time limit reservations sitting in which case they can get really busy all at once, affecting the service when ordering and again when it's time to leave so paying your check takes a while and is annoying. But the ambiance is beautiful and the food is really good.
google avatar

Juana V.

Yelp
Came to Bello ad my teenage daughters, husband arrived to old Quebec. We did not make reservations as we were just arriving from Montreal, but they were able to accommodate us. I ordered the black ink squid fruti di mare pasta, cesar salad, mackerel special and wine. From the moment we arrived the service was superb. Our waiter Louie was great! As tourists we needed to clarify some information and he was very helpful. The food was delicious and the half portions were perfect. However, you can have full portions too. The ambiance was elegant and hip, ideal for families. I definitely recommend.

Claudia D.

Yelp
Pretty good Italian fare: I'm Italian and I did think their mushroom tagliatelle was authentic, which is not a given for most Italian restaurants this side of the pond :-) Im giving 4 stars because the arancini did not taste right to me (risotto felt slightly undercooked and the flavor was...peculiar)
google avatar

Saturn M.

Yelp
I booked the reservation a week before and we made it to the 6:30 time slot (other time slots are full) When we arrived, they asked if we have reservation. We heard someone walked in and they told them "sorry we are full for the night". So make sure you make a reservation before going:) The floor manager is very nice and he gave us two tables to choose from. We prefer the low table. We ordered quite a lot to try out everything, especially the more expensive ones with less reviews - starting bread: it could be better - cappuccino: average - beef tartare: best I've ever had! They taste so good and slightly salty because of the smoked bacon/thick cut Parma ham in it. It'll be chewy (like when the steak is tough and not tender enough ) for some people. The beef tartare is good, but the salad on the dish is outstanding! This starter is a must try! - onion soup: what would be better than a boiling soup in a cold night? Onion soup is boiling hot so please drink slow. The cheese is so good with the soup. It's sweeter than most restaurant but I like it - scallop risotto: scallop is a must try!!! They cook it to the perfect temperature perfect timing, absolutely stunning! The risotto taste really good but it's too salty for me. I might try scallop with pasta next time - seared tuna: beautiful plating and good choice of using veggies and quinoa. Very healthy dish for a city person like me, the tuna again, cooked to the perfect. I would recommend this dish to everyone - dessert: bello cake is the most popular dessert so we gave it a try. It's good but not for my Asian taste bug haha. Coated with chocolate which I like, and the inside is like sea salt and caramel cream. The bottom is like cake with crushed nuts? Hard to describe. You can give it a try. Overall, the atmosphere is 5/5, service super 5/5, food 4/5, improvement could be made: less salt for main dish, less sugar in the onion soup, and maybe have in house baked bread? Btw don't know why they put 3 clients on my bill when we only have 2 people, and I think they charged us $2.5 for the bread.. thought it's free cause they gave it to every table before their appetizer (like east side Mario haha)

Yelp
Dinner at this bustling and crowded restaurant was pleasant. Good food, good service and friendly environment

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service. It's a must-try!! Very authentic food. The ambience was perfect on a snowy night.

Elle L.

Yelp
If you are in old town Quebec City, I highly recommend Bello Ristorante. Ask for Diego the server. Amazing service! The food, ambiance & service were absolutely impeccable. We so enjoyed our experience here.

Yelp
My husband and I ate here on the first night of our honeymoon, and it was by far my favorite meal. Great atmosphere and staff!

Yelp
We walked past this restaurant headed for a tour and it caught our eye with the beautiful decor. I looked at the menu outside and we agreed to come back later. We sat outside in the shade, took a deep breath, and relaxed to the sounds of summer. Our waiters did their best to understand us and communicate (we aren't the best French speakers). The menu was beautifully laid out in a newspaper style and the selection was incredible. We started with the beef tartar entree (appetizer) which was phenomenal. I ordered the Carbonara and my fiancé ordered the lobster ravioli. He loved his and I loved mine (for once, I enjoyed my meal more than his)! This was a nice romantic meal in between sight seeing.
google avatar

Susan Q.

Yelp
Everything good looking, decent meals, clients, waitress and waiters. Rich tastes, fresh material, a wonderful experience.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at Bello. I walked up and was immediately greeted at the entry. I asked to sit at the Bar and was promptly greeted by a server behind the bar. I started with the Tuna Tartare and then had a half portion of the Linguini Nero with seafood. It was all delicious. There was a nice wine selection by the glass at reasonable prices.
google avatar

Richard I.

Yelp
I was in town for business and came across this bistro near my hotel. I had been eating French cuisine all week and was ready for a change. I sat at the bar and ordered the Tartare di Vitello as a starter then had the Risotto al Frutti di Mare. Both were excellent and the food rated as one of the best I've experienced. I went back the next day for dinner and had the Zuppa di Cipolle and Linguine alle Vongole. Again, an incredible meal! The staff were great and attentive even though they had a full house. I would highly recommend this culinary experience to anyone that enjoys excellent food at a reasonable price.
google avatar

Yelp
We were looking for a great place for dinner for our 10th wedding anniversary and Bello was recommended to us by Bob's business associates. We had made reservations the day before so we were seated immediately. The decor is nice, the ambiance was a bit more lively that I had anticipated. I thought it would be more intimate. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We ordered a lovely bottle of Valpolicella, our glasses were continually filled as necessary whenever our waiter was near. :) Nice. Hubby ordered veal scallopini which came with a side of pasta and veg. He did allow me a taste and it was very good. I ordered the lobster special over risotto. Oh yum! Check out the huge chunks of lobster in my pic! Seriously go look, I'll wait. Looks awesome doesn't it? It was. The big pieces of claw meat were tender and delicious, the risotto was creamy and full of flavour. As a bonus we received a complimentary chocolate (mousse?) dessert with a festive sparkler on top. It was decadent and rich but not too heavy. The perfect end to a perfect meal.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast and lunch place for my tourist family and friends: reliably delicious food and great service and clean spacious atmosphere. Must recommend: Caesar salad Soup Beef dishes

Yelp
This is a great place for a romantic wine-and-dine! The street it is on is breathtaking with quaint little businesses lining the street. At night, especially in the winter, it feels like a scene from a Charles Dickens novel. Inside, the restaurant is smartly decorated with modern, stylish touches throughout. The lighting is low and romantic. The menu is cleverly done and looks like a daily newspaper. Inside, you find a huge selection with reasonable prices. The fresh bread is warm from an oven. I ordered the duck confit spaghetti and a drink called "punch party". I'd never had duck confit before, and I actually ate it wrong! There is about a tablespoon of duck fat that is served on top of the spaghetti that you are supposed to mix in. I ate the scoop by itself- tasty but kind of disgusting, too! The spaghetti and duck meat were both excellent. I finished the meal off with a very rich tiramisu that was served in a jar and a strong frothy cappuccino! Highly recommended!
