Bells Beach Backpackers

Wow. Where do I begin, this hostel was beyond far more than what my friends and I were expecting. The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds were so comfortable. The staff and Sean, the owner, were amazing. They were all very friendly and so accommodating, along with the bonus of having Bella and Cindy, their dogs, to cuddle everyday. The hostel is in a great location, within walking distance to the outlets, beach and Main Strip of restaurants and bars. My friends and I will definitely be back.

Fantastic Location, great service, extremely clean!!!,.. Probably the cleanest hostel I ever stayed!!! Sean the owner (and the lovely stuff) , is a real hardworking person! You can tell he really cares about his guests and you can tell his is doing everything to make sure they have quality time at his stay! Also people at the hostel are extremely nice so the vibe is great and it feels like a big share house if you stay for a bit longer! would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back!!! Only 1 word to describe Bells Beach Backpackers and that word is AWESOME!! Location: What more could you want from location. You've got all the cool surf clothing outlets super close, a coffee shop around the corner that has some of the best damn I've ever had, a brewery that's maybe a 5 minute walk (try the Endless Summer Lager) oh and the beaches!!! Man the beaches around here are just awesome! Plenty of surf areas and walking trails with great views. Staff: All I can say is thank you so much to the great people who run this place, Sean & Court! They are some of the friendliest people I have ever met who love this place more than anyone and they really try to make it feel like a home away from home. I cant forget about their sidekicks either in Bella & Cindy, couple of well trained, gentle and beautiful dogs you'll ever have the privilege of cuddling on the couch. Amenities: Everything that you need from a hostel and more. Hot water in the showers, kitchen has everything you'll need for a delish meal, beds are super comfy, the hammocks outside were a favourite of mine to sit and chill, great deck area to enjoy those beers from the brewery with the other guests. They also have a bunch of board games and movie marathon nights which is awesome in bringing everyone in the hostel together. Cleanliness: Holy cow this place is spotless. The whole crew go into a lot of effort to keep this place clean which is really important with everything going on. All in all one of the best places I've stayed! Normally I miss the places I go but in this instance I think I will miss the people more. Have already booked in my next stay at the end of the month to see all of their smiling faces again!

A great hostel vibe in a great setting. All amenities are in good condition and tidy. The staff are super friendly including the house dogs! Only a short stroll from the centre of town and the beach. There is a little bit of traffic noise as it's on the main road but not unpleasantly loud.

My boyfriend and I came across Bells Beach Backpackers when looking for a place to stay near Bells Beach to surf. We arrived to our hostel with our keys and nice letter in an envelope to check in immediately, which was great as we arrived earlier than expected. Shortly after, we met the owner Sean and sweet dog Bella. Both were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful if we needed anything. We booked for 3 nights but had to change to 2 nights due to a flight change, which Sean happily refunded us back the extra night. We would have loved to stay a 3rd night as everywhere was spotless, rooms were exceptionally clean with very comfortable beds. We could not ask for a better place to stay and great area surrounding. Awesome coffee shop up the road, brewery, cafes as well as outlet shopping for apparel. If you want a clean, relaxing place to stay that is reliable- go to Bells Beach Backpackers! Very clean hostel but not much of an atmosphere. Still nice people though and a lovely dog Bella. Lots of people seemed to stay here for a while to surf, there's a few beaches to choose from, closest 1.5km away. The town has everything you need but not a lot going on. Others just used as a quick stop passing through for the great ocean road. The town seems to have plenty of work available in hospitality in the summer.

I had a fantastic stay. Sean and doggy Bella are very welcoming. The kitchen/lounge facilities are great. The bed was REALLY comfy. The place was all very clean. The showers wouldn't mind a facelift, but I wasn't bothered in the slightest. Would definitely recommend to others!

One of my favorite hostels! So warm, welcoming, and friendly. All rooms and bathrooms are clean and well kept. Both Bella and Sean are amazing and Sean has some great travel tales himself. Even though my stay was quite short (2 nights), I would highly recommend this hostel for anyone passing through and I hope to return again.

Nice and paceful place to stay in Torquay. It is very clean and near to the beach and the city center. It has a nice livingroom and very useful kitchen. It also has a cute garden.
