Belly of the Beast

This was a fantastic bar. My wife and I visit bars all over the world trying different cocktails and the bartenders here really knew their stuff. To me, a great cocktail bar is one where the bartenders are able to be creative with drinks, and we saw that first-hand here as Jinny, Mariano, and Fillipo were creating new drinks for their next menu. We even got the honor of trying one of the drinks and giving our feedback. I recommend this cocktail bar to any looking for a great drink in a fun atmosphere.

The reception was very warm and welcoming. The €1 tacos special was super nice. Their drinks are the reason I scored the food as a 3 star. Watered down Palomas for my wife and I. Disappointed. We really love our cocktails and know this wasn’t it. Other than this, the place is has a nice layout and the server that served us was great.

Somehow this bar got into the review of the world’s best shots bars in 50 Best Bars. In reality no interesting shots here, only simplest vodka or tequila. They said they would do more interesting shots charging us as for cocktails.

Very fun, ambient atmosphere with tasty & fun themed drinks! Loved the siren’s call and kraken’s elixir. Great place to get drinks, would recommend!

Have had, and made quite a few vodka martinis in my time but - Jinny knocked my socks off - I think maybe the best martini I’ve ever had. Hats off to him. I’m a tough customer.

Extremely poor service. Booked for drinks this evening and was ignored the entire evening even though I was front of the bar. I fully understand being busy and I never try to rush bar tenders but this was unacceptable as the only other time i received any service was after my first drink and that was to pay the bill and the card machine was thrown to me to sort out without the deduction from my 20 euro deposit that I payed to reserve my spot. I would fully stay away and will definitely not be returning after a horrible evening. Three bartenders on service and was ignored by all of them

I really liked the concept and the design of this place. Cocktails are really good and you can order depending on the flavor profile you prefer: fruity, fresh, spiced or strong. Wine, beer and snacks are also available. Service was top. Good atmosphere. Definitely recommended for cocktails in Amsterdam.

Fantastic cocktails. While I highly recommend "The Flying Dutchmen" upstairs, if the wait is too long, Belly of the Beast doesn't fall short. Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful service, as well!
