Aspen, Colorado Guide: Here’s Where To Stay, Ski, and Eat In America’s Chicest Mountain Town | Vogue

"Belly Up, Aspen’s premiere 450-seat music venue, has been bringing big-name acts to Aspen since 2005 including the Killers, John Legend, and Kacey Musgraves. (This New Year’s, the Chainsmokers took the stage.) Their concerts usually start later in the evening—doors for an upcoming Bob Moses concert, for example, open at 8 p.m.—making Belly Up the perfect choice for an après-après-ski night out." - Elise Taylor

"Aspen’s premier live music venue brings in the type of talent you’d normally find playing amphitheaters and large-scale clubs the world over. Think Sound Tribe Sector 9, Silversun Pickups, and Modest Mouse in a club that holds 450 people." - MATADOR_NETWORK

This is such a cute venue! We came to see Michael Franti and Spearhead and it was an amazing show! The venue only holds 450 people so it's a super intimate place and of course, Michael Franti is an amazing artist who engages the audience by encouraging us to talk to a stranger, do-si-do with others, and sings in the crowd!

Nick Sung: A Maestro of Music and Energy! I recently had the incredible opportunity to witness a truly awe-inspiring performance by the extraordinary DJ, Nick Sung, hailing from the vibrant music scene in Korea. From the moment he took the stage, it was evident that we were about to embark on a musical journey like no other. Nick Sung's talent, passion, and boundless energy transformed the atmosphere, leaving the audience in a state of pure bliss. Nick Sung's mastery of his craft is nothing short of remarkable. With an impressive array of mixing techniques, he effortlessly blends genres and eras, creating a seamless fusion that defies categorization. From pulsating electronic beats to nostalgic throwbacks and everything in between, Sung has an innate ability to read the crowd and curate a sonic experience that resonates with each individual on the dance floor

Truly one of a kind, must see venue. If you are a big time music lover then Belly Up must be on your list. (On a side note : beware of 20 something year old locals with very poor morals!) Very small intimate venue with a great view from everywhere in the house. The staff here is absolutely top notch in every way. Layout is extremely convenient to get around, and parking was easy to find near by. If you want to be close to the stage or get one of the few(non-reserved) seats then you better get there right when doors open. Doors opened at 9, show was at 10, Illenium came on at 11 and played unitl 12:30. As long as you get there in the first hour its not tough to get in at all. The acoustics were great and if your close to the stage you get whipped in the face with the bass at times. Will absolutely be back in the future and put it at the top of my list for favorite venues of all time. Well worth it! To have only seen Illenium at sold out Red Rocks shows or festivals of 25,000+ crowds before this . . . To see him up close in a crowd of only 400 people, It's hard to put into words how incredible it was. What this unmatched venue does, bringing A-list acts to such an intimate setting for deep fans is such a one of a kind thing. I seriously can't wait until my next show here, one if the best days ever!

You can see the best bands, DJ's, parties, and shows here. You never know who will be in town. It's a surprise! Large friendly venue small town vibes. Always a good time. Everyone was happy & rowdy.

Google
Fantastic, intimate, historic venue in the middle of Aspen. It was fascinating to be in a place where so many influential acts have played. Capacity ranges from 300 to 450 depending on configuration. Check their www to see the greats who have graced this stage. Staff was helpful and made feel welcome. Will return.

Google
Unique layout makes this venue a place where nearly everyone feels like they’re in the front row. Continuous wait service from two bars means you don’t have to get up and wait in line for a drink. We ran into the general manager before the show and he volunteered to save us two seats in the GA section, which were excellent!

Google
What a magical night at an amazing venue! We travelled all the way to Aspen to see DRAMA at belly up. We were surprisingly shocked by how great this venue is. The staff are all very warm and welcoming. The venue is super clean and put together. Everything moves like a well oiled machine. Thank you belly up for an unforgettable night! & Co.

Google
Best place to see a concert even if the band sucks amazing venue, book the ticket. Get there early so you can sit. Best night ever and bands weren’t great, but the venue made them a 5/5. Came all the way from Idaho and so worth ever penny! Book the ticket you cheap ass!!!

Yelp
The Red Rocks lineup for summer 2019 wasn't really my jam, but that forced me and my husband to seek out shows in other venues around Colorado, including Belly Up. What a cool, intimate space to see a concert. Band of Horses is an oldie and a goodie, so when tickets went on sale in at Belly Up, we snatched a pair and booked a hotel to spend a Saturday night in Aspen. I don't believe they were terribly expensive, as they were GA and not reserved VIP seating. Even if you're a regular ol' attendee to a show, watching from the floor is not bad at all! People were pretty polite, no pushing or shoving, or my biggest pet peeve: tall guys who stand directly in front of short women and completely blocking their view. Nope, it was a middle aged, bearded-dude-with-their-lady (or best bro) kind of crowd. Mellow for sure. I forgot earplugs but really didn't need them. Show started pretty much on time and we were out of there right as the encore was about to begin, around 11:30 pm. Given their location, there's likely a specific time that music has to end... maybe midnight? Because the venue is so small, getting a drink at the bar was really easy and surprisingly drinks were pretty cheap. So really, it's an ideal venue if you're not looking to get too wild. Though I've seen other acts that come to Belly Up and I'm sure they get a bit more turnt than my Chardonnay-loving self.

Yelp
What an iconic night! From the outside, it doesn't look like much but once you descend down stairs and enter you are welcomed into the most intimate, unique venue I've ever been to! Even though it is small, you have views from every angle..even if you're 5"4' like me! It was a blast and the bartenders were so friendly! Can't wait to make it back here for another show soon!

Yelp
On Jan 4th, I had checked my jacket with coat check and at the the end of the show I had gone up to retrieve my jacket with my claim ticket and they had lost it. I had just purchase this coat the day before for $1,600. I spoke to Connor who is one of the managers and we exchanged information that night. He confirmed that he did review the tapes and I did arrive with a coat and that it was lost or stolen. He then told me he would have general manager Elizabeth reach out to me to talk about some compensation. When she called she was really sweet and asked for the receipt of the coat. I sent her the receipt and I never heard back. I called a and messaged but she blew me off. Terrible experience, no communication. No apology and had to walk home that night with out a jacket in 15 degree weather. I've given them plenty off time to make it right.

Yelp
buyer beware - among the worst customer service I have ever experienced. the venue improperly advertised a show date, and when we asked for a refund within a few hours of buying tickets (before any tickets were delivered and weeks before the show), we were met with malicious threatening responses on how the venue will never grant a refund. pretty unnecessary for a venue to act this way.

Yelp
Saw Steve Aoki here. Came back a changed man. Highly suggest. Honestly prices weren't bad. Wasn't very crowded.

Yelp
Love everything about this venue. Amazing DJs and performances. Def keep an eye out for their calendar because tickets sell out fast. You have to be 21 to get in. They have 2 cops at the door and they checking your IDs...so don't even try to enter if you are not 21. Drinks are pretty cheap... That was a nice surprise

Yelp
Wouldn't you know I've found a new favorite new indoor music venue but it's all the way out in Aspen! The Belly Up is a fantastic intimate venue with excellent sound and a fun atmosphere. At some point, you're sure to spend time getting an eyeful of the hundreds of photos that line the walls and even spill into the bathrooms (hot dudes in the ladies' room and hot chicks in the mens' room). I seriously wonder how they are going to fit any more framed pictures in that place! Reserved seating, with its many perks, is most definitely the way to go. Use your reserved ticket to enter through the out door and skip the long line at the general admission entrance (go downstairs near the corner of Durant and Galena). The reserve section is a combination of rail seats in the front and tables behind. Security guards manning velvet ropes make certain only reserved ticket holders gain entry to the reserve section so it never gets too crowded. Our server also told us that usually every show entire reserved tables won't even show up. During our show, the table beside us stayed empty, even though the show was sold out. More dancing space for me! The tables aren't cheap so we guessed those tickets must be corporate gifts of some sort. Be warned, the reserved seating policy is a bit strange and confusing. For instance, the tables are advertised to hold six people but fitting even four at one table is quite a challenge. In addition, the venue will seat different parties together at the tables as seating is based on the time of purchase and the configuration of groups. Which is how the two of us ended up at a table with two strangers, even though we all bought our tickets immediately when they went on sale. Our tablemates were nice and friendly but next time I think rail seats will do just fine for the two of us. Our show was a combo of reserved and general admission tickets but you can reserve a table for a GA show starting at a $250 minimum food and beverage purchase (pricing depends upon the show). Bottle service is also offered if you are so inclined. We ordered a couple of snacks before the show and found the food surprisingly fresh and tasty. The menu listed several great options. I had the house salad and we shared the hummus plate. Portions were large. Drink prices were not bad for Aspen. Our waitress treated us to awesome service all night long and we never had to wait too long for anything. If you have the chance to catch a show here, don't pass up the opportunity! I'm happy to have finally checked this one off my Colorado bucket list and hope to make it back one day in the not too distant future. Yelp Review #500

Yelp
Great venue - small and intimate. You can't beat the show experience itself at a place like this. My rating is entirely based on the way the staff handled something in particular, and I have a serious problem with it a plenty of negative sentiments that will continue for some time.

Yelp
**Came to enjoy some quality music but they were blasting it up as if it was staples center, and it's actually pretty small and intimate space. Even with earplugs it was painful and when I went to the restroom the walls were shaking like the place is going to crash. ** ordered the kale salad, it was gross. ** when concert was done I waited in line 10 min to get my coat, just to discover that they have two windows of coat check and being sent to the top of the other line behind 40 people. Ridiculous. They could be so much more affective and explain you that shit when you check your coat. As a live music lover I gotta say it was my 1st and last time at Belly up.

Yelp
This place is the best live music venue in Aspen. My favorite one is to dance right in the front and dance to the end of the concert, love... love this place. There is no other place that you can dance or stand less than 4 feet away from the stage from your favorite band/singer, but this place rock it! I like that Michael Goldberg the owner love taking photos of the band/artist and hang their photos on the wall, it's so cool!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
This place is the shit. I've been to music venues all over the world and this is easily one of my favorites. Great sound, great sightlines, friendly staff. Drinks and tickets can be over priced but hey, it's Aspen.

Erica H.

Yelp
Amazing venue, incredibly rude staff! We had will call tickets (never do this here!) - the staff was so slow and rude finding our tickets!! Same story for the door guys, acted like they were doing us a favor letting us in! Great spot, terrible management!
google avatar

Monica G.

Yelp
Came to see Lupe Fiasco at Belly Up and it was a great experience. You are literally face to face with your favorite artist even if you buy general admission. If you like to budgie it up a bit get the reserved seating which is half way between the dance floor and the upper level but you're roped off from the riff raff of Aspen (which basically doesn't exist). We got there an hour early and were able to find a place to sit without a problem. Staff was friendly but the drinks were expensive so get ready in your room if thats your thing.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite music venues I've ever been to. I've been fortunate enough to see three great shows here and the layout of the venue makes it so everyone has a good view. The sound quality is amazing! For some shows it's not too pricey to get a table so it's definitely worth it on busier nights otherwise it can be pretty tight. I've always had good service and drinks and I make an effort to come at least one night when I'm visiting Aspen.

Yelp
Simply the best concert venue in the USA. Where else can you buy a general admission ticket and then stand right up against the stage for a Chris Isaak concert. Do yourself a favor and see a concert at the belly up. Five stars.
google avatar

Jake G.

Yelp
This is a cool venue with awesome shows but whoever is working the door and in charge of all that needs to go. I've been going to shows here for a while but the last few times has been a huge hassle to get in, especially tonight the tall dark haired door guy working the door Tech9 concert who denied my entry on the guest list when all my friends were there to confirm who I was, I had a valid picture ID, and multiple second documents but no "state issued ID" so he wouldn't let me come in to confirm myself because "I can print anything on anything" so I won't be going back until it's a headliner that I really want to see or until the tall dark haired kid is gone.

Yelp
Great place to see bands in a more intimate setting than in Denver. The prices are a little higher-but it's Aspen. We camped nearby or stayed at cheap hotel that is walking distance. All the seats have a great view & you can bring your younger nieces & nephews. The food is decent too. It's a fun mini-vacation to drive up from Denver & see a show. You might even bump into a celebrity if you're not careful.

Yelp
Belly Up is my favorite venue of all time. The small and intimate setting of this venue makes it the perfect place to see any type of show! Located in the heart of downtown Aspen, Belly Up serves great drinks and even better sound and acoustics. We came in October to see Bonobo and I was super excited because he always plays a great show. I was even more impressed when I realized how great this venue was. The sound was fantastic and it was so nice to be so close to the stage! No matter where you are sitting in Belly Up, you can see the stage. The seats are plush and comfortable. There is a gorgeous bar and the building is softly lit. The waitresses were very nice and fast with our drinks. They had some great beer on tap. I would highly recommend seeing your favorite artist at Belly Up, you will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
My experience at The Belly Up was great! The friends I had come with said it was a little unusual, but because it was a smaller act the place opened up there usual VIP seating areas for general admission. Drinks are decently strong, but $10 bucks a piece...not too uncommon for a live music venue and definitely not uncommon for aspen. The music sounded great. Their sound system was perfect for our show. Lots of clears and good distortion to go with it....you could hear it all. The seats and table we had made it comfy for a show and the we could see perfectly because it's tiered. I look forward to more shows there
google avatar

Terry L.

Yelp
Great venue for live music. There is a raised level with bars surrounding the main area -which could be used a s dancefloor or pack in the crowds for a sellout show. Granted it is a bit of a drive from Metro Denver- but if you find yourself up in the mountains for a couple days- check the schedule for this venue as it hosts top acts in a great atmosphere. Being that is IS Apen it seems that everything is laid back but upscale. The Belly Up fits this description as well.
google avatar

Robert E.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff during our show, unecessary to the point where we were questioning why we were still at the venue. Not booking or attending a show here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Great venue. Been waiting an hour and a half for Bone thugs and Harmony. They came on and we left after two songs. Wasn't feeling it.

Yelp
We had so much fun! Great venue, really affordable prices and seeing Goldfish was amazing! This is the best venue in Aspen hands down! They bring big names, check them out!

Yelp
I visited for the first time last night to see Modest Mouse and was really disappointed in the accessibility of this venue. I'll preface this with the fact that I broke my hip a few months ago, can't put any weight on it and have been getting around with a wheelchair. They did not offer ADA seating to purchase so I got GA. Knowing this would create complications, we arrived before doors opened and waited outside in the freezing snow (why did they only open 30 min before the show??) to try and get a good spot. The elevator doesn't even go down to the main floor and there are only stairs otherwise, so my wheelchair had to stay on an upper level. They sat us behind some of the reserved seating, between the bathrooms and the merch table, so there was an endless crowd of chattering people hovering over us which is not super fun. Also, the guys in the $500 reserved "seats" in front of us literally never sat down the entire show so I could not see the band at all. We even asked a bartender if they could sit down (she couldn't ask them to) and then my boyfriend asked them personally if they would be willing, explaining the situation, and they would not. (I guess that's Aspen for you... rich entitled old white people who dgaf about any of the other people around them.) Since the place is so small and it was crowded, there wasn't even anywhere else to move to try and get a better view. So we basically paid hundreds of dollars, bought a hotel room and drove seven hours from Denver in terrible traffic through a blizzard to see part of one song when they went outside to smoke. I know we had a difficult circumstance, but we've been to tons of other venues around Denver that handled it much much better. This is my all time favorite band and the most I've ever spent on a concert and I honestly wish we didn't even attempt it and won't be doing so again.
google avatar

Jay P.

Yelp
They say it's one of the best venues in the country but I don't think it's even in the top 50. The sound 2/10, drink pours/prices 3/10, staff 4/10, sight lines 1/10, cost 1/10, proximity to band 10/10, visual lights potential 4/10, bathrooms 4/10, entrance procedure 1/10, crowdedness 1/10. People think that because you're close the band that that makes it the best venue. Well it's not. If you can't hear or see the band because the sound is terrible and the sight lines are non existent then what's the point. Also stop selling so many damn tickets. That place is packed, you can't move anywhere in there. This place is also probably the biggest fire hazard ever. Shit if there's a fire in that place people are going to die, a lot of people. Maybe that's why they have that weird policy of only letting in 5 people at a time from the outside. They know if they block that entrance people could be in real trouble.

Yelp
Call me old and boring but I'm so over the mosh pit days. I like to see live music in a venue where I can sit down, order a nice beverage (preferably a little bubbly) and relax while listening to some live tunes. The Belly Up is an awesome music venue. Seriously intimate, laid back and fun. We saw Jane's Addiction here on NYE and it was the perfect beginning to 2012! It's large enough to feel like a party but small enough where there isn't a bad seat in the house. Definitely worth checking out while in Aspen!

Yelp
What deadmau5?!? January 26th?!? Missed him by a week or so... We walked down the stairs and spoke with someone about the concert that night. The SPAZMATICS from Los Angeles were in town and the locals were raving about them. The locals were dressed in 80's wear and the older women were pinching our young male friends' asses. Apparently a good time all around. My friend and I opted to get some rest while 3 of our friends went and had a blast. We hadn't slept in over 24 hours and had just flown from CA, then drove up to Aspen but deadmau5 was playing we'd pull an all-nighter, I know that for a fact. I'd give up my left tit to see deadmau5 is Aspen.

Yelp
I saw Social Distortion here and that show sold out in a day. Not surprising considering the Belly Up can only hold 450 people at maximum capacity. It's an intimate venue with a bar and elevated floors for viewing the stage at every height. There's free coat check and it's great area to park in with surrounding stores and restaurants which is awesome. You can really get close to the musicians as they perform here unlike most venues who hold the crowd back 100 feet from the stage with an iron barrier. And as a merch girl, I always think it's awesome when venues have designated areas for bands to set up their merchandise. Belly Up takes care of the bands that way. Makes it easier for the fans and for the bands and everyone in between. Drinks are expensive. I wasn't surprised. I met the manager that night, she was super sweet and helpful. She pointed out the coat check area without me asking and was helping people sell their extra tickets to other people waiting outside to (hopefully) get in to see Social D, who sell out every venue they ever play. I'd drive another 4 hours from Denver to Aspen to see another band here. Though there were some useful features to the venue it gets 3 stars because seeing a show there doesn't make me feel like it was a collective experience like how the Bluebird or Marquis in Denver makes me feel. Must be the surround-sound ground shaking chest thumping audio I like that Belly Up doesn't totally excel at.

Bryan B.

Yelp
My wife and I visited Aspen (during hiking season) and we went on adventure looking for Mary Swanson. Unfortunately we did not find her and found this place instead. I loved the setup of the place not a bad seat in the building to watch live music. I would go back to catch a beer and watch bands play forsure.

Yelp
Belly Up in Aspen is about as perfect as you can get. There is nothing bad I have to say about this place. It's worth the drive and the cost of a room to stay overnight if you are coming from out of town. If you really love a band, you won't want to miss them here. You can get up close and personal with the band. I literally stood underneath moe. and have some amazing pics to show off. One of the band members even turned his fan onto me because I was dripping more sweat than he was from dancing! There is no other venue that is as intimate as this. It's not just because of how small it is either, it's that the stage is a few feet off the ground. The small floor area directly in front of the stage is general admission. Above that there are raised levels with bar tables and booths. This is the reserved area which was scored a spot in. Looking onto the band from up there was super fun, because you are still so close. We had amazing servers that kept our drinks full the entire show. There was enough room to dance up there too. I never went to the bar because we had such great servers so I can't comment on them. I keep my eye on the schedule now by following their facebook page and plan on doing more shows here in the future. There are so many great bands that play here before they come to Denver or Boulder so you can make a run of it! The only thing is that this creates weekday shows at the Belly Up because the bands play on the Front Range over the weekends.

Yelp
This IS Aspen!!! If you don't come here you haven't experienced the best of this town!!!! Concerts, nightlife, entertainment and people watching at its best!!!

Yelp
This venue thou, I bought some tickets to see diplo during general release day for me and my friends. I received an email today that my order was cancel due to violation of policy???. I followed up with a call today, and they were not able to give me any explanation why I got them cancel... I would not recommed anyone buying tickets for this place if your outside Denver / Asian ... I really believe they discriminated due to my name. Y'all did me dirty.

Yelp
Great concert and performance venue. Outstanding layout that lets you either sit back and enjoy the show from away or get up close and personal in front of the stage. Lot's of great performers, big and small, coming through all the time and a lot of events in between makes this a locals and tourist fan favorite. There's always people in, and most of the time it's busy enough to have a great atmosphere. The place is quite small so it can get crowded, especially for more popular acts. Drinks are alright, but just enough. The drinks are alright, though maybe a bit on the pricey side.
google avatar

Lilani E.

Yelp
Kudos to you Belly Up. You hosted an outstanding event on Saturday of F&W. You booked THE most amazing 80s/90s cover band (The Spazmatics) and catered to food professionals (including world renowned chefs and "celebrity" chefs) and all of our closest friends. That is NO easy task but everyone was happy, well fed, and politely buzzed enough to interact with each other and enjoy the show. I've been disappointed many times with these sorts of "post event" gatherings and am more than pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth being tired the next morning!

Yelp
The Belly Up is the greatest thing to come to Aspen since snow. I've seen around 100 shows there in the past few years. Reggae, Rock, Hip Hop, Hippy shit, they get it all. The concert tickets and drinks are expensive (the only reason why I only rated it 4 stars), but hell, it's Aspen. What do you expect? They serve food until 10pm so if you get to the show early have some pizza. The sound quality is AMAZING for such a small venue. This place puts a lot of money into the concert experience. If you are in town and there is a show GO SEE IT! This place should not be missed during a vacation to Aspen. FYI - Get your tickets at least a couple of days before the show. Most everything good sells out.

Yelp
Music choices are a thumbs up, but the security acts like they're babysitting a bunch of newborns. Checking in a bag is a little absurd, especially when the staff is given the choice to search it like a regular venue. Won't be spending any more money to support condescending twats.
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
I been everywhere, man. Not really. But I have been to a lot of places. This is one of my favorite music venues that I've ever been to. Maybe the best one ever. At least for an indoor show. We saw Minus the Bear and Everest. Had no problem getting right up next to the stage, one person from the stage floor. Had no problems getting back to the bar, either. Or the bathroom. Super convenient. There were maybe 250 people there, so maybe that was why. Capacity is something like 450, I think. Ron Zacapa?! Are you kidding me? One of the best rums you will find at a bar, I was so excited when I found out they had it. I had it on the rocks. Heavy pours. Loved it.

Yelp
Alright, take two. I have stopped in two more times now: once with a friend, and again alone. I got over my insecurity of the whole age thing and learned to just find humor in everyone's awkwardness. It's actually quite liberating! One of the bouncers recognizes me now, and is incredibly polite and pleasant towards me. I went to see Nervo [a badass sexy sister dj duo] perform, and they rocked my socks off. They're incredibly popular, but I couldn't understand how the venue was so dead! There had to have been only 40 people there at the most. Whatever! Everyone elses' loss, and all the more intimate with me! I can't wait to come back to this venue when I'm in town again!

Belly Up has a good vibe, and the locals that go there would probably agree. My friends and I saw Super Diamond over the 4th of July weekend, and although I wasn't all that impressed with the entertainment, the bartenders did a fantastic job. The free coat check is a bonus :)

Yelp
Awesome venue! Get a table or get in the crowd and watch world class performers of all genres right in the heart of Aspen. And you don't miss a beat while ordering a drink with the flat screens mounted behind the bar displaying the show playing 50 feet behind you. Love this place!

Yelp
It's a good venue and it gets a bunch of big name bands. The bar is good and the drinks strong. If the show is sold out, the place is going to be a huge screw pile with people bumping into each other all over the damn place, but if you have strong drink in hand you won't care. I saw Hieroglyphics and Blue Scholars there and it was a good show. However, the doors were supposed to open at 10:00 and didn't open 'til 10:43. Not a huge deal, but Aspen in the winter is freezing ass cold, so walking to find a bar is not ideal, plus, I definitely spend a bunch at their bar, so they're turning down business. Secondly, I suspect that they didn't let an encore happen because they had to close down, so that was a bummer because Hiero killed it. Overall, I was highly satisfied, but I didn't find anything too exceptional.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible management. I arrived for my favorite band of the year, the California Honeydrops, expecting a fabulous time like I have experience for years at The Mish. I grabbed a beer and headed directly to the dance floor. Barely had I stepped on the floor and someone knocked a beer out of my hand. It happens, I shrugged it off and kept going about my night, but apparently someone knocking the beer out of my hands really irritated some Aspen twerps... then as I am at the front dancing in my own little space, this gal starts shoving me and my sister in law- full on two open hand shoving in my the chest. My sister in law walks away, I continue to dance and ignore the offending broad. Then like 30 min later I am still just standing in my spot dancing and the manager has a bouncer come kick ME off the floor. You have got to be kidding me! So I traveled to Aspen, get a hotel, on one of my most exciting nights of the year, only to have the manager kick me off the dance floor for other people's foolishness. I will never attend another event there, and I encourage you not to either unless you happen to be the Aspen friends of the manager.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place but the bartender Paxton really ruined it for us. I don't understand how someone so rude and unpleasant could be in the service industry. Unwelcoming, unattentive, and makes terrible drinks. Maybe she was having a bad day but it's unacceptable especially when this place was slow the night we came and the music wasn't creating much excitement.

Yelp
Attended a Food and Wine Classic after-party at Belly Up on a Saturday night. The venue was packed to capacity with the Spazmatics from LA entertaining the crowd. The band was amazing playing hits from the 70s and 80s for 3 straight hours! That must have been the longest encore I have ever experienced! The entrance is located on the besement level, but there are 3 levels inside. The dance floor is on the lowest level and gets you pretty close to the band. Great venue for live bands in Aspen!

Yelp
So this is where all the twenty and thirty somethings in Aspen hide out! My only complaint about Belly Up Aspen is that it isn't in Denver! We saw BoomBox and Cherub here and you could definitely tell we were the ones who traveled to see the show! We had the dance floor to ourselves during Cherub and then rocked out during BoomBox's two and a half hour jam session! This venue has great sight lines and sound. It has the dance floor and then two raised areas with a pretty good sized bar. I am still in shock at the type of acts they can bring in and the ticket prices they charge! I cannot wait to be back -- Dance Party At My HOUSE!

Yelp
This is an unbelievable venue for music. So many great names playing in such an amazing location. I came here to watch the Kyle Gass band play and it was my first visit there. The bar was fully stocked and large. All around the venue there were photos of all the artists that had played there before and it was quite the impressive list. The sound system rocked. The service was great. And the bar makes a killer Moscow mule. Great spot for music and drinks!!!

Yelp
One of the coolest venues I know. We stopped by after seeing Clint Black at the Wheeler and caught Sleigh Bells. They get amazing acts here despite being a smaller place.

Yelp
Was here for the Kygo concert over the X games and had a great time. We had VIP tickets which was well worth it. The cocktail waitress was amazing, she always made sure you had a drink and was comfortable. If they had a VIP restroom then I would have given it 5 stars. The sound was okay at the venue but Kygo killed it.
