This was our second time at Belmar Spa & Resort, and sadly it will be our last.
On arrival, our first room had an ant infestation. We had to sleep there overnight with a baby and a toddler, which was extremely stressful. The cleaning staff came over to inspect and confirmed the issue themselves. They even offered to spray chemicals to deal with it but of course that would have been unsafe around a crawling baby. The following day, we were moved to a top-floor apartment, which was far from convenient with two small children.
Management told us that £50 would be taken off our bill as a gesture of apology, but when we checked out, that amount had actually been added onto the tab instead. Very disappointing, and I wish I had noticed before leaving.
The restaurant staff were mostly lovely, and we appreciated their kindness during our stay. However, on our last day, one of the male waiters was unprofessional and aggressive toward a young waitress, creating a really uncomfortable atmosphere in the dining area.
Having had a much better experience the first time we stayed here, this visit was a real letdown. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be returning.
