Excellent hotel, 2 bedroom apartment was gorgeous very spacious and well equipped. Service was impeccable. Tv had all the streaming services, great for kids. 5 pools, getting a sun bed was never an issue, spa was great - could use the pool, steam room (when in operation) and jacuzzis. Provided with towels to change when needed. Great access to a lovely beach. Pool bar fab and lovely staff. Buffet in restaurant nice but very expensive . We stayed self catering|Only negative to us as a family was location to anything else - 2 restaurants nearby- ok. Grocery shop about 15-20 min walk uphill. Great but then had to carry everything back. Lagos about 40 min walk through residential area. Uber were fantastic and used them regularly to get to Lagos and ponte de Piedade only €4 euro per trip|Overall fantastic holiday in a gorgeous place

Enjoyed our stay here. The only drawback for us was the distance to the old city center, but was close to the beach. We like to walk, but did a lot and didn’t want to add that piece. Two good restaurants at the beach too so that was good. The Belmar was nice, the staff attentive, and the restaurant was perfect for our last night there. Of course, the spa and an adults only pool out of 5 pools. If you go, enjoy yourself!

The location of this hotel is great, and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. Unfortunately both of the bathrooms smelled strongly of mold, and there was quite a bit of dark mold on the grout in the showers. We were excited to have a washing machine for this leg of our trip, but it also smelled strongly of mold. We mentioned these issues to the staff, and were told it would be addressed but it never was.

We loved staying here although I was a little sceptical after reading some of the reviews. We stayed in a 2 bed townhouse with roof terrace. I agree with some other reviews that the terrace wasn't particularly inviting although my older teenage son liked it up there for some of his own space. The rest of the accommodation was spacious and clean throughout. Our accommodation was serviced every day and the sheets and towels changed every other day which was more than enough. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The kitchen was well equipped and there were cleaning materials as well as laundry tabs for the washing machine and dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar were provided as well as coffee pods for the coffee machine.|The lobby bar was only small but was very inviting. Junior and Julianna were very welcoming and helpful. We only ate in the lobby bar and found the food very good and reasonably priced. |We did venture out on foot to the supermarket and there is a relatively steep incline as others have said but this does flatten out after a few minutes so we didn't find it too difficult. We also found a few restaurants en route which meant we didn't need to keep going in to town. Ubers into town ranged from about 4 - 7 euros so we were pleased we hadn't hired a car. An uber to the waterpark was 30+ euros each way but still reasonable considering the distance. We ate down at one of the beach restaurants which was OK, it felt like they were rushing around with no need to which spoilt the atmosphere. We did have to book though and the only other beach restaurant, Antonio's, was fully booked for most of the week we were there. Lagos old town is very pretty and was lovely to walk round during the day. It was extremely busy of an evening. Easy to still find somewhere to eat but still very busy.|The main pool did get busy and a little noisy, including a couple who thought it ok to play their own music over the music already coming from the pool bar (which was at a level of background music). Mostly people didn't reserve sunbeds so we were never not able to find one. There are other pools, including an adult only pool, but the views down to the beach from the main pool were the best.|The gym is quite small but perfectly adequate and air conditioned. Our only gripe was with the spa facilities. They were lovely to have, but not all of the hydropool was working, the experience showers only partly worked and the Turkish bath was out of order all week. This area does need a bit of tlc we felt. On the plus side, the changing rooms were lovely and we could change there for our flight home as checkout at 10am was way before our flight time. You are able to continue using all the facilities even after you have checked out, including beach towels. |We found the staff all to be lovely, friendly and helpful when we wanted to ask about trips.|Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Rooms are great for what we paid very spacious but you can hear your neighbours when it’s quiet in the evening, still comfortable and enjoyable though you can have any fresh food out lest you invite ants into your room! Service was mostly good save a couple sour annoyed staff who came across rude and made us feel like we were being stupid but then those that were good were lovely and made up for those less common bad experiences. Location was great imo so soooo close to the beach and decently close to town, super cheap to get a taxi if you’re not bothered to walk the 30/35 mins out. I would still return despite the small bad things, overall so brilliant!

The rooms are in a shabby state, the shower head holder is broken, the bathroom sink drains very slowly, the door lock is very difficult to engage, you have to lift the door in order to engage it. Room service changes towels on a weekly basis so don't leave you towels on the floor, they will not be changed. It takes forever to get hot water. The pool area is surrounded by wood planks which are not all well supported and some joints dangerously sink. The hallway carpets are stained and dirty. On the positive side, the rooms have metal curtains that block out daylight perfectly. The consierge service is amazing, they give great suggestions on things to see and are very knowledgeable on local tours. The restaurant's buffet style breakfast is great. The dinner menu is nice and the food is very good.

Great resort, close to the beach and a short cab ride to downtown. Nicely equipped gym and spa. Indoor pool facilities are in need of ventilation, the chlorine in the air stings the eyes after a short while. The hotel could also benefit from some clear signage as we were often left guessing which door led where. Our 2 bedroom suite had everything we needed for our stay, was very comfortable, and had amazing views of the pool and ocean.

This was our second time at Belmar Spa & Resort, and sadly it will be our last. On arrival, our first room had an ant infestation. We had to sleep there overnight with a baby and a toddler, which was extremely stressful. The cleaning staff came over to inspect and confirmed the issue themselves. They even offered to spray chemicals to deal with it but of course that would have been unsafe around a crawling baby. The following day, we were moved to a top-floor apartment, which was far from convenient with two small children. Management told us that £50 would be taken off our bill as a gesture of apology, but when we checked out, that amount had actually been added onto the tab instead. Very disappointing, and I wish I had noticed before leaving. The restaurant staff were mostly lovely, and we appreciated their kindness during our stay. However, on our last day, one of the male waiters was unprofessional and aggressive toward a young waitress, creating a really uncomfortable atmosphere in the dining area. Having had a much better experience the first time we stayed here, this visit was a real letdown. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be returning.
