"A chic deli to be sure, Belmondo serves American-style sandwiches like Reubens, tuna melts, grilled cheeses, etc.—about which its young, fashionable adherents rave—but the menu holds some surprises as well, like a barbecued brisket or a chicken curry on peasant bread. The salad selection is varied and creative, in everything from an old-fashioned Cobb to exquisite local beets with goat cheese and avocado. Breakfast (weekends only before 1:45 p.m.) is also about greatest hits; think eggs Benedict and French toast or one of the very few bagels with gravlax you’ll ever see south of the Rio Grande. The place, in Roma Norte, is famed for celebrity sightings and generally crowded, yet the vibe is low-key, cool, and friendly."
Wonderful restaurant with fantastic breakfast, warm service and chill / cozy atmosphere. Shortly after being seated we were offered a selection of pastries, which we were delighted to try. For our mains we had the ricotta pancakes and eggs Benedict, both of which were lovely, although the hollandaise on the Benedict was a bit heavy and could have benefited from a bit more acidity.
Overall a wonderful choice in a delightful neighborhood. Warmly recommended.

Quality breakfast, all of the American staples and in large portions if you’re looking for a break from Mexican breakfast. Nice coffee. You’ll be offered some sweet pastries (at a charge of course). My ricotta pancakes were average. I thought they might be topped with ricotta. My friends eggs Benny was good and the pastries were high quality.

Wow! Delicious sandwich. I had the short rib sandwich and it was perfect. Great bread, perfectly warm, not dry. I was so happy with my meal and the service.
Very kind people with delicious food and a nice atmosphere.
And the carrots were also fantastic!
Thank you!

This is a great spot and located on the corner with outdoor and indoor seating. They have fresh green juice or orange juice, which is delicious. The favorite part was the pickled carrots delicious 10 out of 10 definitely were stopping by if you were in the area looking for a simple meal or entertaining guest.

I had the “revueltos con tocino” and the cold brew and finished off with an espresso. It was all cooked perfectly. Lots of bacon and the sourdough was amazing. Highly recommend.

Feb 2024 The English muffins and the French toast were 2 or 3 days old. Tough and dry in The Taste. The English muffin hollandaise sauce was very vinegary. This used to be our favorite place, but we will think twice before visiting again on our next visit to Mexico City
2019 Review was 5 stars. The quality and taste of the food is very good. Popular place on a Sunday but service was fast and we didn't wait long for the food. Smoothies are very tasty. Simple 1 page menu.

Hands down favorite restaurant in Mexico City Roma district went 2x in 4 days. Incredible breakfast! I don't know why you would eat anywhere else. Every dish is made with quality ingredients, super delicious! And generous portions. Best French toast I have ever had. Service is good. They have an English menu if you request it. It's nice that you can sit inside or outside. Because it's on the corner of the street, there is lovely sunshine in the windows. all so wonderful that you can get coffee with coconut milk if you are dairy free.

Yelp
Wow, this spot is busy for Sunday brunch! A lot of folks had large parties or wanted to sit inside. Luckily we were a party of two and were able to find a small table outside.
There is an english and spanish menu. The menu looks great. You should note that you can't order lunch items until after 1pm I think (review the menu beforehand). After you order your meal, you get some spicy pickled veggies to snack on until your food comes.
We got the tuna sandwich and croque madame. Both are delicious!
Restrooms are inside (one for men and another for women).

Yelp
Breakfast review:
We came here for breakfast as it was close to our Airbnb. They had a cute patio and seating along the front. Service was pretty fast.
We ordered coffee, topo chico, hot cakes aka pancakes- the cheese one with fresh berries, and 2 egg Benedict's with bacon. We honestly ordered what we can read. The Benedict's were great, the crunch of the muffin was good. Eggs poached right and the bacon gave it the saltiness. We both enjoyed it. The pancakes were very sweet, the cheese stuffed into the pancake. Good ending to breakfast!

Yelp
This place is under rated. The food is delicious here. I enjoyed the service, the food is beautifully curated, and the coffee was good too. The egg Benedict has very memorable bacon on them and I loved the homemade bread. I was impressed with our overall experience. Restrooms were also very clean. Great little spot. I didn't like the busy street though. We sat outside and I felt like a truck was going to run us over. It was a bit louder than other streets I noticed.

Yelp
-FOOD POISONING-
So I wanna preface by saying that I've visited Mexico many times, and while I usually tend to get semi sick the first couple of days (just weird bowel movements, nothing crazy) I have never experienced intense vomiting like I did after I ate here.
I also was already feeling a bit sick a few days prior to my visit here, however as I mentioned it was only weird bowel movements. Take this review with a grain of salt - I could've gotten sick from contaminated water or other food I ate.
On this particular day, however, my boyfriend and I sat down to eat breakfast. He ordered the huevos revueltos con tocino and i ordered the chilaquiles con pollo. About ~2 hours after eating our food, my stomach started feeling unsettled and I remained bloated for hours before the puking began. This was also my only meal throughout this day. I fell violently ill once we made it back to the airbnb, and could not even keep liquids down. My boyfriend did not get sick at all.
I'm not sure if it was this particular batch of chilaquiles that made me sick, but I would proceed with caution with this place.
I'm giving this two stars because the service and coffee was good. However, for an establishment in Roma Norte where many tourists visit, I'd expect a lot better from here.

*FOOD POISONING*
I really do not recommend this place. We went for dinner one night and ordered the bowls --- I got the general lentil bowl and my boyfriend had the chicken bowl. The lentil bowl tasted beyond disgusting (sour and cold, the vegetables were soaked in some white opaque but strong vinegar sauce) and the kebab chicken was also equally gross. I did not eat the bowl at all-- in fact I pushed it to the side of the table so they could clearly see it was not touched (they still charged us for this meal while saying sorry). I thought it smelt strongly of vinegar, but it could have just gone bad. My boyfriend fell very ill the next day, we went to the hospital, got testing, and he was diagnosed with SALMONELLA and PROCTUS bacteria. Please stay away.

Yelp
El lugar es muy caro, cada cosa por separado. Muy lento, no pueden atender con rapidez cuando hay mucha gente. Está rico, si, pero caro.

You need to write orders down when you have a party of 10 hungry men. It's unacceptable when food comes to the table and you've forgotten to place the correct order

Yelp
This place is good. None of the food really stood out enough for me to recommend anything BUT I highly highly recommend the chocolate cake. It's very moist and full of flavor. One of my favorite places to go to for dessert, will definitely be coming back just for desert!

Yelp
Very good service and food. I was wanting a French dip sandwich and this was a very good one. The Au Jus needs to be a bit richer, was a bit watered down, but the crunch roll and melted cheese and tender meat were just what I was looking for with my craving.

Yelp
This is such a great place to have brunch! They have mimosas, great eggs benedict, and a delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich made on a biscuit. This location has a slightly better ambiance than the one in Condesa as it is bigger and more open. However, they are not dog-friendly at the one in Roma (aka cannot enter with your dog). It is still one of my new favorite places to have brunch.

Yelp
This is another nice chique place in the city. I've come on two occasions, and everything has been pretty tasty. I think my favorite was the curry chicken sandwich. The rice bowl was filling, although I didn't particularly like the taste and texture of the rice. I really enjoyed the beet salad. The carrot cake was delicious. On my second visit, I found the waiter to be a bit abrasive.
