The revival of Belmont Tavern near the corner of Belmont and Kimball is something special. This historic corner spot—with roots going all the way back to 1890—had been vacant for 25 years, and seeing it brought back to life has truly revived the whole block. You can feel the neighborhood energy the moment you walk in.
The new owner did a great job honoring the tavern’s legacy while giving it fresh, welcoming vibes. Affordable cocktails and beer, relaxed atmosphere, and just an easy place to settle in and hang out. Five of us stopped by during the grand opening, and even though it was busy, we had no trouble snagging a table.
Huge plus: we were able to bring in tacos from Mazamitlas down the street, enjoy a few rounds, and soak it all in. Great drinks, good vibes, and a meaningful comeback story—this place is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. Highly recommended. 🍻🌮
