Simply stunning design inside and out, and incredible staff. The Belroy Vintage was my dream apartment, and four years ago I finally had an opportunity to move in. This place truly feels like a community, and everyone seems to have so much personality here. The staff is outstanding. Jake is everyone’s best friend and keeps us all feeling safe, heard and happy. Any time I have a maintenance issue, Bill is here to help ASAP. This is truly my home, and I would live here for life if I could!

I love living at the Belroy and my vintage apartment is so cute and so me. The staff is very friendly and communicative and the community is really nice, however, the vintage units are not properly insulated (if at all) on the exterior walls and I lose a lot of my heat through my floors, since I’m on the first floor. The heaters are definitely not powerful enough either and they run constantly, but rarely ever reach the legal minimum requirement of 68 degrees in the Winter. I have been complaining about this for two years now to no avail from the landlords. The vintage units are slowly being renovated and will get major updates that will rectify this, but in the meantime, the tenants that are living in the vintage units are freezing. Some people have even told me they just don’t use their heat because it’s so useless. If you are unable to provide the legal minimum heating requirement, then you need to provide rental discounts for us.

The on-site staff has been the cornerstone of our experience at the Belroy. From day one, Jake, Bill, Ernie, and the Belroy team have gone above and beyond to ensure that every resident feels valued and heard. Whether it's swiftly addressing maintenance concerns (thanks, Bill!), organizing community events, or simply taking the time to greet everyone with a smile, their dedication to fostering a sense of belonging is truly commendable. In particular, Jake’s commitment to the well-being and happiness of the residents has been unwavering. His warm and welcoming demeanor sets the tone for the entire building, creating an atmosphere that truly feels like home. Jake's genuine care for the residents transcends the typical duties of a building manager, making him an integral part of what makes this place special. It's rare to come across someone who not only excels at their job but also exudes a genuine passion for creating a thriving community. Jake and Bill have played a significant role in why we've chosen to stay in this building for over four years. We are truly grateful for their presence and the positive impact they have had on our living experience.

I have been here for about two and a half years and it has been my favorite apartment building (and apartment) that I have ever lived in. It’s clean, secure, beautiful and the staff is beyond helpful, accommodating and responsive. Jake makes living here amazing. He goes above and beyond and stays true to the best interest of the individual, the community and the property. Bill is just the best. Ernie is the newest addition to the team and is following suit. I hope to never have to move.

Belroy is an awesome place to live! The management team (Jake, Bill, & Ernie!) is nothing but amazing, attentive, and caring. They are proactive in ensuring the community is safe and well-maintained. Jake, otherwise known as the Jake of All Trades (and rightfully so), is an incredible human and always goes out of his way to ensure residents are happy and comfortable. Bill is extremely kind and takes extra great care of the property - all maintenance requests were addressed within a day! Ernie is very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. I attribute the home-y & community feeling to this wonderful team!

When the apartment was initially rented we were told the apartment would be cleaned and paint after the move in date dirt and cobwebs were still on the walls. Needless to say it was not painted and we cleaned. it. Before cleaning it we told management about the remaining condition of the apartment To add salt to a wound we were told if we did not like the condition of the apartment go elsewhere. This year back water came up through the sink drain which was described as a burp. This time we were assured the maintenance crew would clean it. They wiped it it up but never cleaned the sticking back water mess. Lastly as I was parking in the loading parking space a Belroy employee threaten to call the police because he was expecting a deliver. We were ready to drive on within the three minute allotted parking time. Obviously there have been several negative experiences

I loved living at the Belroy. I spent over two years in the Vintage apartments and loved the art deco details. I only occasionally heard my neighbors above and with the way the stairwells are, almost never heard neighbors to the side. The hot water was always super fast and hot. The location is a great blend of being walkable to Pike/Pine and the perks of Capitol Hill, while being far enough away that you're not front row to the chaos. There were some tense moments with houseless neighbors and thefts, but they were rare and the management team always were fast to make improvements/fixes. The management team was the best I've ever experienced in almost 20 years of renting. Jake in particular needs a shoutout as they were like a combo Sorority Mom and Belroy Mascot. They were always welcoming and open in the office and seemed to know each resident on a personal basis. I am certainly missing the attentiveness and care of this team in my new apartment..

I’ve just renewed my lease at the Belroy apartments. It has been a fantastic 1st year in Seattle in one of the BEST apartments available. When I first saw the location I was mesmerized by its proximity to locations and beauty. Although Capital Hill does have some safety issues infrequently, the staff have identified and resolved any of my concerns immediately. What led me to apply and renew my lease at Belroy is the staff. They have consistently made my new home feel welcoming and achieve the deciding factor between other apartments. Thank you Jake for setting the highest standards while having a professional relationship with all of the residents and their pets :) Thank you Bill for always ensuring the grounds are clean and any maintenance is addressed before it becomes a potential issue with a friendly smile. I’m happy to call Belroy my home.

Yelp
I rented a modern 1 bedroom plus den with a courtyard view and absolutely loved it. The apartment was a great size, had great light and lots of great amenities (blinds, washer/dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, package delivery, attached garage). Cafe Barjot next door is excellent for espresso, pastries and dinner/drinks in the evening. Joshua and Jessie, the managers, are really nice and super helpful. I highly recommend this apartment building.

Yelp
Love the vintage studio and building in general. Management is fantastic. Jake, who is the on-site manager is amazing. There's never been an issue that hasn't been resolved immediately. They are great, the building and community are great, too. Good place to live!

Yelp
Loved this place and only moved out because I graduated to a house. I lived in a 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom + den in the modern section of the building. If you like a danish style design aesthetic, you'll love this place - natural wood kitchen and euro style appliances, walnut floors, clean lines. I also had a nice patio and my apt opened into a courtyard with tables, chairs, and a grill. The apartment was clean, spacious, quiet, and full of natural light. They even come with pre-installed window fixtures that fit the aesthetic perfectly. Loved! The grounds are kept up weekly (great landscaping that changes with the seasons) and there is a great little cafe attached to the building called Cafe Barjot. (good food, drinks, baked goods, and espresso!) The building also does a lot of nice things like holding your packages for you and hosting happy hours for all residents - this was especially nice for new people who had just relocated to Seattle. There's also an attached garage and an elevator. I think you get a lot for your money here - and if you work in South Lake Union area (Amazon, Fred Hutch, SCCA, etc) you can even walk to work.

Yelp
(this is a review for the vintage unit(s), not the modern) Love everything about Belroy (the view, vintage feel, quiet/nice neighborhood) except for couple minor issues and one MAJOR problem: - Washer/dryer and dishwasher (or at least a bigger kitchen sink) would've been nice in the units, but understand the limitations since it's a historic bldg etc. Still a major inconvenience. - The 'secured' garage is NOT safe, there's literally a break-in every week. I believe the owners of the bldg FINALLY hired an evening security guard to monitor, but can't believe it took literally a full year that we were there (and now that we're moving out). We've had our vespa damaged in an attempted theft, as well as the car broken into and stuff stolen from it. With the security issue hopefully addressed I'd give Belroy vintage units a 4 out of 5.

Yelp
I've live in this building for several years now, love the location and charm of the vintage apartments. Management has been great too, service requests get addressed quickly and love the happy hours thrown in the courtyard. Also great to have Barjot (coffee and food) in the building, super convenient for the caffeine seekers and crepe lovers!

Yelp
I loved living in the Belroy! After living there for more than a year, I only moved out is because I took a job on the east coast. I lived in the vintage building and my 1 bedroom was extremely spacious, had great light, beautiful and efficient windows, vintage wood floors, little Art Deco details. The building staff were always FANTASTIC and I never had any issues with packages, laundry, secure building entry, etc. Utilities were not exorbitant, and I loved having access to the grill/outdoor space. I wish I was still living there!

Yelp
Stayed in the modern apartments for one year. We left when they raised rents, despite prices in the neighborhood dropping. Pros: 1. responsive, personable and professional staff on both admin and facilities 2. good groundskeeping & enjoyable courtyard 3. nice ambience overall and apartments were in good condition Cons: 1. overpriced compared with comparable square footage 'luxury' apartments in the same neighborhood. Seriously, look around. 2. the water billing methodology is fraudulent. You are billed not on your actual usage, but on an average for the building. I recorded our meter readings over the course of 6 months, with an average monthly consumption of 320 gallons for two people. Our bill upon departure was for an average monthly consumption of 868 gallons. This is 2.7X what we actually consumed. Not a big deal, until you're stuck with a $400 water bill deducted from your security deposit upon move-out. 3. they will raise rents on you regardless of market value. Prices were dropping for luxury apartments of equivalent square footage, but Blanton Turner raised prices regardless. 4. insufficient storage space for a 'luxury' apartment building. One closet is not enough for anyone. 5a. lack of AC and lots of windows mean you'll bake in a greenhouse in the summer unless you have reserved an AC unit, but they don't have enough to meet demand so get on the list early 5b. windows don't open more than 4 inches so you will get no fresh air when you need it most. 6. parking is obviously a pain in this area. They'll rent a space to you for $200 or so.

Yelp
Really solid place to live. I've lived here for 6 months. VERY responsive and friendly leasing agents and maintenance. The (modern) apartments have a very airy Scabdanavian feel. The windows are a double edged sword tho- you can see thru them even when the shades are down. Can easily be solved by a home made curtain. Never had any major issues and I recommend living here. Bumping to 5 stars because they gave us our whole deposit back!
