I recently had the pleasure of trying some authentic Russian food and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! From the savory beef stroganoff to the delectable pelmeni dumplings, each dish was bursting with flavor and left me wanting more.

Best Russian restaurant in the SF Bay Area. Wonderfully delicious food and great venue. If you're not Russian, find a Russian person to help you book and walk you through the entire event, because it's not self-explanatory at all and unlike most American restaurants. I've created lots of wonderful memories here and can't wait to come back.

Been there at my friend's birthday. That was really impressive! The food and service was just high class. The place itself is very luxurious and comfortable. Everything you see is made at its best level. I would gladly come back again and spend there some time, may be one day) So far, I want to thank the owners for this peace of heaven and to say that this place should serve for others as an example. We had a party of 15 people. While trying to make reservations, the owner (I assume) told us that they can only accommodate 12 or 24 people. When asked is there a solution to a 15 people reservation, he told us to find more people. He was serious about it. I have lived in America for 30 years, I had never heard of restaurant turning down business because the number of guests did not fit his table size. Ridiculous. I feel like I am back in Russia, rude owner and non existent customer service.

Just celebrated my father's birthday here this past weekend! Everything was absolutely incredible. Starting from the atmosphere, to the service, to the food, there was nothing to complain about. Everything was super fresh and beautifully presented at each table. The portions of each food dish were excellent as well. Nobody needed to fight over who would take a piece of food. The waiter and waitresses were always present in the room and constantly changing plates for all the guests. Anything that we needed, was always done in minutes. Absolutely wonderful place to have any event. The friendly service and warm atmosphere is what makes this place fantastic. If you're looking for a place to have a party this is the where you need to go! Thank you for making our birthday celebration extra special!!! We will definitely be back here :)

My family celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday at Beluga this past Saturday and everyone had an amazing time!!! This place is perfect for large parties and the price is great for what you get! I've been to other Russian restaurants and the food at Beluga does not compare. It was excellent! Everyone enjoyed the food, which was surprising because usually, my grandma's friends love to complain! For the main course, Beluga offered various meat kabobs. I don't eat meat so my mom requested for the restaurant to make me a seafood main course. I enjoyed a delicious piece of salmon - I know others were jealous, but I knew not to share ;). What really made this restaurant stand out was their amazing service. Masha was wonderful. So attentive and so sweet! I also loved the fact that the owner of the restaurant came by twice to make sure we were doing okay. When you come here, don't forget to bring your phone for any music of your choice. Although the restaurant offers to play their music, I loved the fact that we were able to play whatever we (well, my grandma) wanted! Thank you Beluga for an amazing experience! I will be back!

Used to be a nice place a few years ago. Now, very overcrowded, the food got worse. Owners are not friendly anymore. Participated in two events recently, will try my best to avoid this place in the future.

We went here yesterday. Food was pretty good - tasty appetisers and many of them. Unique presentation of the traditional European and Russian dishes. Kababs were kind of dry. Music was OK, the musician was taking too many breaks and stopped playing completely at the end - I wish there was more music - that's what Russian restaurants are known for. Our server was rude and very unfriendly. Overall it was a good experience, but there are some important areas for improvement.

The appetizer was the highlight of the meal. It went downhill after that. The main entree of shishlik (bbq pork and chicken) were dry and cold. The dessert was Napoleon cake. What the ?? Too boring. Too much $$$ for average Russian food. Entertainment was mediocre.

Delicious food, elegant setting and lively entertainment! Service was very good as well (which makes a big difference). Great place for special celebrations.

We attended a birthday party at the Beluga. The food and service were great. The music was cool too, but there were no slow dance music at all, so no couple dancing were possible. Overall we had a great time.

Cute little space but the food is amazing and the Russian Quinton Tarantino look alike playing cover songs on the keytar is even better. Awesome time!

We had Birthday party on Sunday. All our guests loved the place and the food. Very tasty and beautifully arranged dishes - even our Vegan and Vegetarian guests could not resist to try all items on the menu. We brought our music and some disco lights - it was fun. French and Italian wines offered on the menu turned out to be very good! The Event Coordinator Maria is very courteous and effortlessly efficient. Thank you very much Beluga Banquet Hall!

Yelp says open noon-midnite so went to check it out. Door was open so walked in. Nobody to greet at the door. Server walks out from back to tell us it's private party and they are not open. She also said they usually open at 5pm. They need to update their hours on yelp. I already fed the meter a few bucks and I'm in the mood to try russian so I guess we'll walk to red tavern and see if they're open.

Russian restaurant quality is on the decline in San Francisco it seems. I remember the days of Russian Bear and with Fandorin closing we are left with just a few. Beluga has by far the best food I've eaten at a Russian restaurant. Would definitely recommend for an event. I'm not that big of a fan for the circle tables instead of the long tables for events, but that's a minor glitch.

Celebrated 2015 NYE here.Nicely surprised with food quality and service. Delicious, classy, friendly. 5 stars. Want to see more places like this in SF.

THE BEST RUSSIAN RESTAURANT IN SF, by far. I've been to many and they do not even come close. Though the space may not be as large as some others, it is beautifully designed. But the main standouts are the food and the service. The food: delicious, beautifully presented and never-ending. The service: attentive, warm and accommodating (the management is always there and keeps an eye on everything to make sure all goes smoothly). I have now been to two different parties here and recommend it to all my friends and colleagues (our company is planning to have a company event here too)!

We had a private baptism party here last month. Went for this place mainly because of the sound system as we had some singers perform for us. I didn't expect much from it... I'm the only Russian in the group and none of my friends are Russian food fans. But WOW!!!! What a surprise ! It was better then my mom's! And she is a great cook! Cold Meats, cured fish, salads, kebabs...! It was never ending food fest! The very special for me was "khachapuri" and eggplant rolls! Lubomir- their manager was amazing, very accommodating to all our special requests.
