Belvédère Strandhotel

Pros: View from balcony is stunning. Lovely and Helpful front desk. Nice spa facilities and outdoor heated pool. Have I mentioned the view is absolutely stunning. Cons: Location is a bit inconvenient if you have activities to do across the area.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience dining here. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Each bite was full of flavor, especially their signature dishes, which were both unique and satisfying. What made the experience even more memorable was the stunning scenery surrounding the restaurant. Whether you’re sitting indoors by the large windows or outside on the terrace, the view creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere that perfectly complements the meal. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind—enjoying good food while taking in the beauty of nature. The service was also excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the entire visit. This spot is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a special gathering with friends and family. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for not just a meal, but a full sensory experience. Great food, great views, and great service—what more could you ask for?

We stayed here during the Spiez Triathlon and had a really enjoyable time. The hotel offers a secure bike room, a beautiful terrace, and a fantastic outdoor pool. Our room had an amazing view and everything we needed. The breakfast featured an excellent Zopf, and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and good food at the bar. Some minor points we addressed directly with the hotel, and overall, we would definitely return.

My husband and I loved Spiez and our stay at the Belvedere Strandhotel. The rooms had plenty of space, comfy beds, and gorgeous views. Wonderful food (and delicious breakfast included!) and amenities - incredible spa that you can access as a guest! We found the town to be beautiful and peaceful - and very walkable. this hotel was a perfect location to easily get to marina, castle, vineyard, lake walk, and train. I think this was our favorite place of our entire trip!

Excellent location!! Convenient parking. Very comfortable to visit all the iconic places of Lake Thun and not only. Near the hotel there are paths for walking through the forest or along the lake. Very beautiful and well-kept hotel territory. Silence, relaxation, comfort) Excellent breakfasts from local products and a very tasty restaurant! Thank you very much for the surprise on my birthday!! It's very nice)! Special thanks to the hotel staff, caring, professional and just very charming employees! We will definitely come back, your hotel is love)

This was a horrendous experience for our family. My daughter, who had stayed there previously, booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. She had had a decent experience the first time and rebooked for us because it was air conditioned in a nice setting. With a baby in tow and a family accustomed to comfort when traveling to a 4 star hotel, we figured we should try staying here again. HUGE mistake. ||As we were checking-in, the front desk agent shocked us by telling us that our two rooms were the only rooms in the entire hotel that did not have A/C. And on top of it, the rooms were located in their conference center level in the basement. Our rooms were the ONLY rooms on that floor - very unsettling. Contrary to the room details on their site, there were also absolutely no views except of tall grass (online it listed the rooms as having spectacular views of the lake). We were told that NO A/C was clearly stated on their site when we booked, which it was NOT as we confirmed. My daughter pulled up the reservation and asked the front desk agent to show us where this information was listed but he was unable to do so and had to admit that he was wrong. We were then promised extra fans, which we did not get and nobody bothered to let us know. The rooms were incredibly hot and stuffy. There were also no screens on the windows and there were bugs in our rooms as a result (as we needed some fresh air in the stifling heat). ||No one from hotel management ever contacted us, no one apologized, and no one even so much as addressed the problem in any way. I have been an executive in the Travel & Tourism Industry and I have never witnessed such appalling behavior from a 4-star property. Be aware that this hotel does not operate with integrity. Dining Room staff was helpful and service was good but the food was average at best and the menu limited. Cleaning service was poor - my husband ended up with a wet set of boxers when a cleaning person left a wet cleaning cloth INSIDE the suitcase which was closed. We had also killed a bug on the bathroom floor and it was never mopped up. Given how we were treated, we did not bother to let front desk know - it was clear that nobody cared.

Spacious and well-appointed room with serene lake view. The spa pool and steam room helped with relaxation after a long day of sightseeing. Great room layout and clean. Easy drive to see old town and River Aare before heading to Bern. We looked at several areas to stay near Interlochen and glad we made a good choice!

Should be a 2 star with a warning label!||Ready for this….a room air conditioner is considered an option! Travel agent booked a lake view room. Room description does not say it has or does NOT have A/C. You see you need to individual select the other rooms to see if AC is listed. If I was buying a BMW is it reasonable to expect it comes with tires? ||My room was 24.7 c. Asked for another room. Front desk was nice enough to accommodate, don’t care about view, being able to sleep is a priority. ||This room has AC…amen. Of course both rooms key cards did not work the first time. Had to got back to front desk again. ||New room not have a proper mattress, just a hard foam pad. ||All they need to do is clearly note on the room description N0 AC.||Manager blamed it on us for not seeing in the description that ac was not listed. |Funny, towels were in the room as it was not listed. Manager elected to hold our meeting in lobby ( not smart). Took everything personal instead of understanding it about the hotel and not him. He did not make this poor decisions. ||The he follows me outside with the final bill. I don’t have my luggage, I am getting away from him. He is asking me to pay before I check out! I told him I would pay when checking out. Another manger stepped in and allowed me to continue my walk without paying instantly. Wife wanted breakfast anyway. ||Also I think I am on the not allowed list now. Not like I would return to this property|I guess having a disagreement on a significant room feature is unreasonable. |||Great view, balance of staff was excellent. One of the best hotel we stayed in. Front desk staff actually asked us if we need a towel when we come in; it was raining outside. Fine dining, great staff, great view across the water.
