Belvedere Swiss Quality Hotel Grindelwald

Elegant rooms surrounded by high Alp peaks.Spa, sauna, heated outdoor jacuzzi, indoor pool were extra-special. Views from every window were spectacular. Easy access from the train station. Staff was accommodating and pleasant. Worth the price to be treated so well. We made it a base camp for easy visits to nearby villages.

For the price, we expected more First of all, our ‘garden view’ room had a view of a roof and an apartment building. If you leaned over the balcony and looked to the side, you could see the koi pond and the outdoor hot tub Our ‘welcome drink’ - my wife wasn’t able to get a simple rum and coke. Beer or wine only- not a big deal, but why? No coffee or tea in the lobby- no coffee maker in the room. A kettle so we could make tea, and instant coffee packets. Awful. For the price and supposed quality of the hotel, we should be able to get an afternoon coffee. Room itself was ok, bed was terribly uncomfortable. Laundry service is available but at OUTRAGEOUS prices. 5 CHF per pair of underwear or socks. Insane. Why even offer it at that point honestly? Service was ok, not super friendly, the main bartender was a little rough around the edges and not very welcoming. Pool and outdoor hot tub were very nice when not busy. Didn’t even try one of the restaurants, other than breakfast which was pretty solid. Eat at the burger bus, Basecamp in town- both amazing, and walking distance. Location was great- main positive of the stay Everything else about it was just a bit of a disappointment.

The Belvedere is a fantastic hotel! Was recently there and could not have asked for better accommodations, service or location. It was a quick walk from the train station, the room was comfortable, and the view was great! Be sure to make a reservation for fondue in one of their outdoor gondolas, it's a fun experience and the food's delicious! Special shoutout to Damian, who looked after my friend and I, he's was so personable, and a great sport with all our questions :-)

Wonderful four night stay in July with my husband for a Babymoon. Lots and lots of families here but we were also happy as a couple. Gorgeous terrace looking at rolling hillsides/Mt. Eiger. 5 minute walk from a train station and 20 minute from main/bigger train station. Great restaurant on site (there are two, including one that is Michelin ranked). Good, solid breakfast (not luxe). Wonderful indoor heated pool, two hot tubs, and spa facilities. We didn’t book a room with an Eiger view to save $$ and were still happy with our room—we got plenty of views throughout our stay and the room was spacious and clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our family of four enjoyed four nights at the Hotel Belvedere, and it was fabulous in every way. The breathtaking view, the delicious breakfast, the proximity to the train station while not being in the over touristed part of town, the peaceful lobby lounge where we enjoyed tea and dessert every night while sitting by the fireplace and looking out at the stunning alps view, the generously sized rooms, the relaxing hot tub, and so much more - it all added up to a perfect stay in Grindelwald. The hotel is family run with lots of attention to detail. Special shout out to Javier the bartender!

My husband and I spent 6 nights in the Executive room with Eiger Views and it was the perfect room to celebrate our 10th anniversary! We loved our spacious room with balcony overlooking the Eiger and slept incredibly well in the bed. Hotel staff were very friendly, especially Vanessa who made us feel right at home! I highly recommend the fantastic breakfast buffet, which has a large variety of food. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Grindelwald!

We had stayed at the Hotel Belvedere 30 years ago on our wedding trip and loved it. For our anniversary, we returned--and it was just a better version of our first experience. The Hauser family has hôtellerie in their blood--and the new generation is doing a fabulous job of continuing the tradition. Every detail of our stay was carefully managed by the Belvedere staff. The views, the room, the food, the spa--everything was perfect. Thank you to Philip and Carole Hauser and their excellent team! Highly recommend!

Three generations of our family have been coming to the Belvedere on a regular basis for decades - we can't imagine staying anywhere else in Grindelwald. The rooms, food, service and facilities are all of the highest quality. The hotel's dining room and terrace look towards the south side of the valley and the iconic North Face of the Eiger. For us, it has come to feel almost like a second home, and it has been an amazing base for enjoying the mountains and trails around Grindelwald.||The Hauser family, who own and run the hotel, have always been extraordinarily welcoming, and they and their staff work hard to ensure a truly special guest experience. Management of the Belvedere is now in the hands of the fourth generation, siblings Philip and Carole, two delightful and energetic individuals leading the hotel into the future. We had many enjoyable interactions with both of them (and their parents) during our stay. A particular shout out to Philip, who was a regular presence in the dining room at breakfast (a spectacular buffet with something for everyone), quietly keeping an eye on the detail, as well as chatting to guests in various languages, catching up with regulars and offering helpful tips for the day ahead to those less familiar with what Grindelwald has to offer.
