This delightful ice cream parlor is truly a hidden gem for dessert lovers, offering an extensive variety of flavors that cater to all tastes. From classic choices like rich chocolate and creamy vanilla to more adventurous combinations such as lavender honey, sea salt caramel, and even local, seasonal fruit flavors, the menu is bound to excite both traditionalists and those seeking something new. Each scoop is crafted with care, ensuring that every bite bursts with flavor and a smooth, creamy texture. The parlor’s welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by its cozy, vintage-style decor, which adds to the charm and makes it a lovely place to sit and enjoy a treat. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, often recommending popular or unique flavors if you’re unsure what to try. However, due to its well-deserved popularity, especially during the warmer months, be prepared for a potential wait before being seated. Crowds gather quickly, particularly in the evenings or on weekends, as both locals and tourists flock to this sweet spot. Despite the wait, the experience is well worth it. Once seated, you can indulge in a delicious scoop or two, making it the perfect way to end an afternoon or evening out.

Google
Great place! They have 3 vegan/non-dairy ice creams!! Thank you for that. The cookies n cream was definitely my favorite with the Black Forest in second. There was a coffee chip as well at this time. I know those flavors change, but you should go try. Tons of regular daily ice cream, frozen yogurt, frozen granita, gelato and no sugar added ice cream. Their ice cream prices are higher than other places in the area, probably because they’re on Main St. They also have a ton of chocolates and candy so there’s plenty for everyone. It can get pretty tight in there when it’s busy, which is most of the time - it’s a popular place. Definitely go and enjoy for yourself! There’s a few tables outside and they take Apple Pay 👍🏽

Best icecream I've had in a long time. Lots of flavors abd they are all not too sweet. Kids loved it as did the parents.will definitely be back.

Limited to four stores in Maine and Massachusetts, Ben and Bill's Chocolate Emporium could perhaps be one of the smallest multi-state ice cream "chains." The Falmouth store brings with it an air of nostalgia, its narrow interior lined by shelves of hand-made chocolates on one side and a store-long ice cream counter on the other. Although Ben and Bill's offers many inventive flavors (including Moose Droppings and Graham Slam), their signature flavor is surely Lobster, a butter-flavored ice cream accented by chunks of real lobster meat. This is their most frequently tasted flavor; however, the question that remains is how many people follow up a taste with a full scoop order.

Google
A great candy and ice cream shoppe, they have an excellent selection of different candies, wonderful ice cream and amazing chocolates particularly the truffles, which are handmade in the shoppe. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and patient, no matter how busy.

Google
Stopped in for a snack on the way home. Ended up with ice cream and chocolate truffles. The chocolate was great and they had a huge selection! Only negative was the cost - pretty high at $31/pound... yikes.

Google
Try the lobster ice cream! And then post here to tell me about it, because I couldn't bring myself to do it... But my maple walnut ice cream was fantastic!!

Yelp
I've never been to Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium in person, but I've had their delicious chocolates thanks to a neighbor. Their gift boxes make for a lovely holiday present. I love the old-timey stamped logo, and the chocolate itself is wonderfully/horribly addictive.

Yelp
A staple in Falmouth Cape Cod! We go for the ice cream but there is so much more! Homemade ice cream Yogurt Gelato Taffy Homemade chocolate, fudge, you name it! Nice location, great consistent service. Looks and feels like an old time candy store. I normally get the " purple haze" which is my favorite. Today to try something new I had the rocky road. Excellent. Thank you for the treat!

Yelp
Never did I expect lobster ice cream to be this good! As someone who works on ice cream, I have very high standards, not just in terms of flavor, but texture and appearance as well. Though I consider myself to be an adventurous eater, I was definitely hesitant to try this unique flavor combination: butter ice cream with lobster chunks. The ice cream was so smooth and buttery; it almost had a sort of umami and decadence to it. The lobster chunks provided an interesting textural component and I thought the rather subtle flavor paired nicely with the buttered base. My boyfriend tried the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream and despite it being overly sweet for my liking, it was nicely done and definitely something I would recommend to those who have a sweet tooth. I did find the shop to be on the smaller side, but could not find anything wrong with the service or general atmosphere of the shop. It might've been because we went around lunchtime, before the dessert rush, but the line moved quickly and everything was efficient. We were both definitely satisfied with the visit!

Yelp
Yummy ice cream and tasty chocolates. Small store with candy on one side and ice cream on the other. Friendly staff.

Deborah L.

Yelp
The BEST chocolate! Talk about your most delicious candies,...the chocolates are divine. Smooth and creamy with yummy fillings. It's all a little pricey but definitely worth it! This place also sells ice cream and gelato which are very popular during the summer.

AJ L.

Yelp
Local, busy ice cream spot on the main strip. There was a lot of variety and the staff was quick was serving. The ice cream was good but not out of this world phenomenal. For that's available, it's decent.

David K.

Yelp
Great iced coffee, good vegan ice cream, amazing choices of chocolate etc. Nice helpers. Glad they are there for all my sugar needs.

Yelp
On a Cape Cod get away and oh my goodness, this place is amazing. This is a cute little ice cream, gelato, and candy shop.We taste tested butter lobster ice cream, peach gelato, lemon cello gelato, cookie dough gelato and Blood Orange gelato. I ended up getting the peach gelato and it was delicious. It was so good that when I was finished, I turned around and went back and got the KBB... Kahlúa, Bailey's, Grand Marnier ice cream. YUM! They even make their own candy on-site and I highly recommend this vacation spot. The service is a 5 (so friendly)~Nini

Yelp
What drew me in was the lobster ice cream. Look. I saw it on the sign and curiosity got me. So here's the deal. They let me try a small sample spoon of it. And at first I liked it a lot. The ice cream itself is pure buttery goodness. Any lobster flavor wasn't clashing or off putting. So I decided to go for a cone. I was really enjoying it. The butter flavor of the ice cream was a winner. But I will say that a couple of the lobster chunks were big. I went in to see what that would taste like. And that's where it clashed a bit. It's real lobster. It's frozen like the ice cream. But for much the same reason I wouldn't eat a frozen chunk of lobster on its own I really don't enjoy it in ice cream it turns out. The texture is jarring and it adds nothing to the flavor. It detracts slightly, actually. I enjoyed everything else around it. But eventually the gimmick caught up to me. I mean the store is charming. The chocolate looked wonderful if not overpriced. And I'd say if you stick with more traditional ice cream you're going to be really happy.

Monica B.

Yelp
Amazing store!!It's impossible not to find something you like. From chocolate fudge till lobster ice cream!Yes ,you read that correctly! They have a lobster flavor ice cream with real chunks of lobster! My favorites were the frozen lemonade and the Jamaican iced coffee.

Samantha H.

Yelp
Took my kids here to get ice cream. Nice little ice cream and candy shop on Main Street in Falmouth. We all just got ice cream. They have tons of different flavors. They even have a lobster flavor which I wasn't brave enough to get. I got the peanut butter cup flavor ice cream which was good flavors but the ice cream was freezer burned. My husband got a different flavor though and said his wasn't freezer burned though. The portions were huge, they seriously give you a lot of ice cream for your money. Overall, ok experience, ordinary ice cream place.

Rozet S.

Yelp
Perfect spot for dessert after walking down Falmouth's Main Street! It's super busy at night, so be prepared to wait in line! I got a scoop of rocky road and it was amazing.

Laura M.

Yelp
I won't lie - was totally drawn in by the sign outside for the lobster ice cream. We ordered the lobster ice cream, and the chocolate almond in kiddie cup size (their kiddie cups are huge! The lobster ice cream was very buttery (so much so that I had a small bite of butter) and creamy. There were small and large chunks of lobster that were frozen (texture was interesting) - but added a super unique sweet and umami flavor. The chocolates/other items looked really good as well - will have to come back and try more of the menu!

Alex M.

Yelp
I love this place! We went back two days in a row because the chocolate is so good. Definitely worth checking out.

Katie N.

Yelp
This is cream is amazing!! Best ice cream in Falmouth. We came here during COVID but they did a great job of keeping only 5 people in the shop at the same time. They have a great array of just about every kind of chocolate that you could think of! They have tons of different ice cream flavors. I got the mint Oreo and the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough. That was the best flavor-an incredible mix that I've never seen anywhere else. All of their flavors have chunky toppings like big chocolate chunks, peanut butter cups, caramel slabs, etc. Perfect combination of the classic flavors plus some very unique ones. I also love their sizes. They do kiddies (1 scoop), smalls (1 1/2 scoops), medium (2 scoops) and up. There is a size for anyone! Such a cute street in Falmouth. Must go if you are anywhere near!

Devin R.

Yelp
Really impressed with this store. It's small, but has a lot to offer with chocolates, jelly beans, a large variety of non-chocolate candy (like gummy fish, etc.) and gelato, ice cream, and more! Although Maps said it closed at 6pm, they were open later - I'm guessing extended summer hours. I don't believe I saw the hours posted though. Either way; I was happy they were still open and I could get some ice cream after dinner. Usually peanut butter cup ice cream is chocolate based and way too heavy for me, but this one seemed to be more of a vanilla base and was EXCELLENT. Plus, the size pictured in my photo is a kiddie... which is hard to believe. Will definitely go back and bring others. Very nice staff as well.

Yelp
just now NEW As I walked in, someone was walking out saying "this place is a shit-show". I should have realized then... After looking at all the flavors, I asked if they had soft serve. The woman that was helping me stated that they did, and proceeded to hand me my half-half cone I ordered. It looked SOOOOO bad that I had to ask- "what's wrong with this ice cream?" To which the woman responded "it's dairy-free". I stated that I didn't realize, and asked if I could switch flavors, to which a second woman intervened quickly and stated "you have to pay for that one". I was shocked because it looked sooo bad, but she stated that I had ordered soft serve and didn't specify "not dairy-free" (I didn't realize I had say "dairy" when ordering my ice cream. I assume they are all dairy unless it says "dairy-free"). They finally allowed me to get a different ice cream, after making me feel awful. They also put so much fudge on the outside of my cup that everyone around was looking, laughing, and offering wipes since it was getting all over the counter myself and my clothes. I would not recommend this place. So many other places to choose from. This place WAS a shit-show.

Dov S.

Yelp
If you want the best gelato around this is the place for you! Expensive, they let me order a large cup of whipped cream! Other places don't Edit: turns out I'm lactose intolerant ‍

Kelsey N.

Yelp
The ice cream here was really good. I got the peanut butter cup which was really tasty and there was a nice variety of flavors that even included vegan options. There was a wide variety of chocolates you could choose from as well. The line was long, but it moved and was definitely worth it. The staff were super friendly and made sure we got everything we wanted. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

Ilene S.

Yelp
There are too many things that I was not pleased with over that I almost didn't even post a review but I know the point of yelp isn't just writing about what you like but also what you didn't. First off the ice cream I wanted had only scrapings left which looked unappealing yet would have been served. After ordering we decided to share and they weren't willing to return the half scooped ice cream which had just been placed in the dish. So I ended up with my flavor not one I could share with my husband. The cookie dough ice cream had little pieces of cookie dough which were far and few between bites. The vanilla based ice cream was smooth but not a flavorful as I would have hoped for.

alan P.

Yelp
Got some ice cream here yesterday. It was the best. Had the chocolate and coffee. Both were delicious. They had a ton of assorted chocolates also, so I'll be back to try them next time.

Katie D.

Yelp
After seeing the website and reading reviews that had highlighted their variety of vegan flavors, we were excited to try Ben & Bills, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed to learn that they were completely sold out of vegan ice cream. The only option available was fruit-flavored sorbet, which was obviously not what we were hoping for. Only 2 of the 5 people in our group actually ended up ordering ice cream that day (well, actually frozen yogurt) - the mint chip was not my favorite. On the bright side, they did pack them up in a nice freezer bag to help us get them home without melting! (visited 7/25/22)

Mia P.

Yelp
I'm so impressed by the vegan options at Ben & Bill's. From its exterior, it seemed like such a traditional ice cream and chocolate shop that I confidently told my boyfriend "no way we can eat anything here". I've never been so happy to be wrong. The vegan ice cream options looked nice- especially the peanut butter chocolate one, but we were feeling chocolate so we ordered an assortment of the options in their separate vegan chocolate case (!!!). We tried the horchata truffle, coffee truffle, hazelnut truffle, peanut butter truffle, and sesame coconut truffle. We agreed that our favorite was the horchata truffle, which had a lovely almond flavor (avoid if you don't like the taste of almond extract!), but my boyfriend's second favorite was the coffee, while I liked the hazelnut truffle. In total, we got 8 truffles for 6 dollars, which felt like a great deal. I honestly wish we had ordered more to go, because of course we had finished them within 15 minutes. The staff was also super friendly, even though it was 4 pm and the shop was busy. If you're vegan or looking for a dairy free treat, definitely check out Ben & Bill's. I'll be back.

Mark Y.

Yelp
Busy spot- chocolate selection is great- ice creams and gelatos are good- I had the lobster ice cream which is really a butter flavored ice cream- it's good despite some boring people opinions...

Julie M.

Yelp
Great ice cream, great chocolate! The only thing is that the the store is very small, can get very cramped. Would recommend to go during not busy times.

Chrysanthemum A.

Yelp
Ben&Bill's is a year-round hub. It's an amazing chocolate factory squeezed into a little shop. Their truffles are rich&chocolatey. They've not only added coffee to their menu, but it's fancy too- hip Speedwell Coffee out of Plymouth. Ben&Bill's is famous for its lobster ice cream (that surprisingly tastes like strawberries&cream). Only spot in town with lobster ice cream, and it's seasonal. Another seasonal flavor that's worth it ($5 for a small) is the KGB (Kahlua - Grand Marnier- Bourbon) - if only that ice cream were available in the Russian River area! They have great gelatos like Donatella and pistachio. Their vegan and frozen yogurt, while low (or no) fat or dairy, are packed with flavor. Purple Haze is a delightful grape-flavored frozen yogurt. The service varies on how busy it is, and they do stay busy. A Falmouth landmark.

Food Without Borders ..

Yelp
If you are in Cape Cod, MA, you must try their ice cream. We have been to a lot of ice cream parlors. Theirs is one of the best. I and my wife had chocolate chips and lobster ice creams. Lobster was unique and vanilla ice cream based. We liked them a lot.

Chris K.

Yelp
Wow, was this place incredible. There was a large line waiting to get into this place for most of the night (pre-COVID), and once you were inside it was easy to see why. They had a line wrapping around the shop, so you passed by a wall of chocolates of every type before moving through the candies. Mini jawbreakers, gummy sharks, everything you can think of. From there you wrap around to the ice cream counter. Super interesting and decadent flavors, including the infamous lobster ice cream with what appeared to be pretty nice chunks of meat in it. Wild. The prices may have been a little higher here, but you paid for a superior product. They were clearly cleaning up in the business department, so people know this and don't mind paying a few bucks extra. Such great ice cream, great service, so much variety. Well worth going!

Jack I.

Yelp
It's a pretty good spot for ice-cream in town with a nice selection of other chocolate treats. The service is decent, considering they're young kids--sometimes you get a new or slow one who takes a while to complete the masterpiece ;) My real big complaint is the outdoor seating. It was always mayhem and fight for an inch of space, but now that it's "cleared" up because of COVID there's no excuse for the filthy mess outside. For God's sake, have one of the workers sweep it and hose it down at night. It's starting to smell and look like a dirty sewer.

Logan D.

Yelp
Pros: -Fun flavors--they even have Lobster ice cream! Cons: -Long line to get in -The line inside is quite confusing, maybe due to the narrow space. When you walk in, there are clear shelves of all types of chocolate piled high on your left and a long freezer containing a multitude of ice creams along your right. The choice is yours: left or right (or both?) We weren't sure where it started/ended as it seems you can get your ice cream and pay anywhere along the counter. -Little chaotic to interact with staff at the counter. I asked to try the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Dough flavor and was given the Triple Chocolate Flavor (I think the server was confused because right beforehand I had asked what the Triple Chocolate flavor contained). -- Chocolate PB Cookie Dough ($4.50 for a kiddie) Kiddie size is huge (at least 2 scoops)--easily a a "small" or "medium" at other places in Boston. The PB is not well incorporated--it's more of chunks of hardened PB rather than a smooth swirl, so when you get a chunk of it all you taste is PB, not a choc/PB combo. The cookie dough bits were pretty tiny and not very doughy (more grainy). The chocolate base itself was not bad, though not particularly memorable, either. However, I would definitely recommend it over the vanilla. I tried some of the regular cookie dough and I found that the vanilla was seriously sweet and had a strange aftertaste.

Rich L.

Yelp
A staple in Falmouth for chocolates and ice cream. A must visit for anyone visiting here. I go for the chocolate as plain as that may sound. But have tried hood, friendlys, B&J, JPLicks this chocolate has a unique flavor that hard to explain but if is Def a good difference that brings me back every yr.

G L.

Yelp
The ice cream is certainly creamy and you get a LOT in a kiddie cup. But their flavors taste a bit artificial/chemical for my tastes. For reference we got: Carmarsh, coffee heath, pistachio, salted caramel, strawberry flavors. I think the best was the coffee heath and the salted caramel from these, and I would get these again if I came back.

Sean A.

Yelp
Came here a little before 5 on Sunday. There was no line. The ice cream freezer goes all the way to the door, so space is a little cramped. People checking out the ice cream and people going in and out get in each other's way at times. I tried a few flavors, mud pie, etc. I ended up choosing the Butter Crunch. It reminded me of eating popcorn. It hit the spot and was a good, solid, delicious choice.

Natalie S.

Yelp
Ben and Bill's is a staple place and visited by us every time we're in Falmouth! The best part is that there's one a town over from me at home so I'm never far! Guess that's not too good because I spend too much time there.....anyway! The line here is always crazy long but it's worth it. Whether you're buying chocolate, candy, fudge, or ice cream, there's a sweet for everyone's tooth! Came here twice in the four days my family was just in Falmouth. First time I go, I ALWAYS get the mint Oreo ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Always. It's so good!! Second time I tried the kahlua brownie ice cream. Holy cow, deelish!! Another positive is their sugar free chocolate/candy selection. A member of my family needs to eat the sugar free stuff and usually she's got one or two options....they have lots! They even have vegan ice creams too, if you're into that kinda thing!

Matthew L.

Yelp
This is the place to get ice cream if you are in this area. I had been to the Ben and Bills in Bar Harbor and also when it was open, Northampton and this location it has been a while but this ice cream is so rich and creamy and it hits the spot! Plus the fudge is great here too and is nice and buttery and thick! The service here is awesome and prices are decent and it is just an all around great place to get a sweet treat!

Amelia S.

Yelp
Awesome ice cream candy shop with everything you can imagine. This was a fun stop while sightseeing in the Cape Cod area. Also check out their lobster ice cream! It's not my cup of tea, but it is unique and interesting!

Linda A.

Yelp
Adorable little shop with tons of candy and chocolate options. The ice cream was super delicious -- they even had lobster ice cream! The prices are a little steep, but it's a tourist location, so understandable, I suppose. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions nicely. I ended up getting the oreo ice cream since there were too many choices, and I got nervous, ha! My son and I loved it -- very tasty. Great spot!

Don V.

Yelp
Yelp says they are open til 10, they close at 9. Probably open later during the summer season. They are on the main drag in Falmouth, along the same street as many nice and causal restaurants and shops. Wanting a treat we stopped in for the icecream. But they have so much more. They have quite a section of candies and icecream. In addition they have coffee of all sorts. They have fudges also, they will sample the fudge and icecream. It doesn't seem to bother them to allow you to sample some. After some prying I was able to get out of the clerk that the icecream is in fact homemade. All the candies are done by weight and the fudge is sold in 1/4 increments. We chose peanut butter fudge and pumpkin spice flavors. I chose coffee icecream and salted Carmel in a size medium. The Salted Carmel was meh as was he coffee flavor. A medium is big. The hubs ordered a medium Butter pecan. His only complaint is that there was wayyyy too many pecans. It's also not your basic shop. Be prepared. It's not cheap, but your likely on vacation. So no worries! We walked in during the day thinking we wanted coffee but the employees basically ignored us. Irritated we walked out. We came back later only because most of the other places in walking distance were closed.

Shannon B.

Yelp
Place was okay. I went for the chocolate not the ice cream. The displays of chocolate are not very inviting, looking like they have been sitting there a while. I didn't find the staff very friendly, but they weren't rude. I will say that their fudge is better than their competition across the street, less salty. I got their alcoholic truffles which were okay, but nothing I'd rave about. As far as packaging I just got all my chocolate in a white bag, not sure if they offer boxes that would be more appropriate for gift giving, as I was not asked.

David B.

Yelp
Chocolategasm! This place looks like it has great ice cream in many different flavors (they even have lobster...yes...lobster ice cream, which I did try a sample of...tasted like butterscotch and lobster!), but my review is for their chocolate. Yes, it is expensive, but yes, it is sooooo worth it. My two favorites are dark chocolate covered macadamia nut clusters, and dark chocolate covered almonds nut clusters; they are OMG awesome!

Disney H.

Yelp
Phenomenal coffee ice cream. Both the kahlua flavor and the coffee heath flavor were exceptional.

Zachary M.

Yelp
They make some great candy and ice cream with so many things to try and so many nice people, why not grab a bag and get some candy!

Sarah C.

Yelp
The smell alone wafting all the way outside from this place made me want to give it a 5 star - and possibly the next time I go it might be closer. The other reviewers were right when you walk in it does have a straight out of a movie feel or almost like maybe stepping back in time. The assortment of candies and chocolates is almost overwhelming (in a very good way!). We tried a few samples of ice cream. I had to try the lobster ice cream twice. It is such a unique thing that I couldn't get a proper feel on if I like it or not. The ice cream almost had a buttery taste to it. It is not something that I could eat a cone of but it was not terrible either. The gelato looked amazing even though that wasn't made there. The ice cream was OK - I have had much better homemade ice cream. The fudge choices were the normal choices (ex: with walnuts, peanut butter, etc). I took home a 1/4 of the chocolate with marshmallows and it was very good! If I am in this area again I will definietely pop in - if not to try the ice cream definetely to sample some of the amazing chocolates.

Kristen C.

Yelp
Delicious icecream! The best in town! We tried the rocky road and mint oreo and the flavors were amazing. If you're looking for a small, try the kiddie cup. The portions are really generous! Their chocolates are super tasty, too. You can tell they are made fresh. The dark chocolate is super smooth. Definitely recommend!

Casey H.

Yelp
Fabulous Peanut Brittle. It's rare you get it so sweet, yet so brittle. The crunch is so irresistible. Keep up the good work team!

Annabelle W.

Yelp
I just came in here the other day. The actual shop was super cute and the service was good as well. I got strawberry cheesecake and it was pretty disappointing. It tasted pretty gross. The other thing is that it was 6 dollars... way too much.

Alexandra S.

Yelp
It's absolute chaos in there. There's an overwhelming feeling of disorganization creating waves of anxiety, although it is mitigated by friendly staff and a line that moved quickly. The wide variety of ice cream is really good and there's a ton of candy to choose from. The cherry taffy has a little cherry on it, a cute cherry. I would recommend Ben and Bills to a friend and I will absolutely go back.

Katrina R.

Yelp
This place is a great spot to check out! So many ice creams and frozen Yogurts! The Purple Haze frozen yogurts we got are outta this world yum! It's technically black-raspberry frozen yogurt with thick dark chocolate chunks sold here! Ben & Bills only has a couple of weeks remaining before the majority of seafood and fudge places in Falmouth Close for the winter season... Ben & Bills is a rare, tasty find!

A L.

Yelp
Was here the other day and usually the ice cream is on point but I wanted to try something else-- so I ordered a granita. If you've been to Italy or even if not but had a proper granita, it is a softer version of Italian ice but still scoopable and made with real ingredients. I was so excited for blood orange granita.... But what I got was a slushie. - a pump of blood orange torani syrup into premier slushie and served with a straw. I would have thought the server would have understand j thought I was asking for something different when I asked for a scoop of orange and a scoop of kiwi but instead she pumped one flavor of each into a cup and I got a too sickeningly sweet slushie that I tossed almost as soon as I got out the door. I felt pressured to not say anything because they were just trying to Move customers through the door.
