Nice clean rooms with comfortable beds. Very friendly staff gave me great tips and advice on the surroundings. The kitchen is stocked and also has an honesty box for the road. Great place to stay!!

Whilst undertaking the WHW we chose to stay here - my expectations were exceeded.. The welcome was great, very helpful, everyone was very pleasant. The rooms are clean, and quite large, this is especially helpful when you have rucksacks requiring rummaging through to get 'stuff'. There's plenty of hot water, although the bathrooms are across the corridor. There is both a 'lounge' and a kitchen (with large table); there was everything you need in the kitchen to prepare and eat food. There was quite an array of food available to purchase (very cheap), including large pizza's, chocolate bars, dried foods, tea, coffee, etc

This was our second night on the West Highland Way. The shared room was great. Bedding provided for bunk beds. Simple breakfast is provided. The honesty fridge with the pizzas was a great bonus.

Amazing! I stayed in a few hiking hostels and mountain huts, this one is hands down my favourite. The beds have decent matresses, you get bedding and thick fluffy towels. They even have a bath tub with bubble bath. All employees i met those two days were wonderful. I got great advice on hikes. Free breakfast and they would have had gluten free bread in the freezer (i carried my own). The lodge lives by its guests... The big group on day one may have liked to drink, but the fully cleaned up after themselves. The second morning I did the fun little history trail behind the lodge and when I came back everyone left and left the kitchen as if a maid service was included (it is not). I really hope I can come back.

Amazing place to rest from the walk, if you don't mind sleeping on bunk beds in a room with other travellers. Everything was clean as can be, and maintained well. Included in price are some basic ingredients to prepare a meal, which is essential since there is no grocery store in miles. Alex is a lovely host, we had the best time, met incredible people.

Stayed here after summiting Ben Lomond on Day 2 of walking alon the West Highland Way. Staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Beds were comfy with only 4 bunks to a room. Excellent showers and huge kitchen facilities. The bunkhouse was technically 'full' but you wouldn't know it with ample space in the lounge and kitchen to relax. The well-stocked honesty shop was much appreciated for our supplies over the next few days. After dinner at the hotel in Rowardennan, we came back and used the log burner before turning in for the night. After collecting our washed clothes from the drying room we were ready to set off refreshed for our 3rd day of walking. An amazing exprerience that I hope I'll come back to one day.
