Google
What a fantastic experience. We took the tour and our tour guide Jennifer was absolutely superb. Two whiskeys to taste and we got a lovely little mixer glass to take home with us afterwards. Thoroughly recommended to all.

Loved the tour! Very informative and interesting, not solely centered on you drinking the scotch but really explaining how scotch is created. Hazel was an amazing tour guide, and we loved being able to bring the samples back with us!

We loved our tour with Tom. He was so informative about the distillery and the whisky making process and he answered all our questions! The tasting was also a nice touch at the end and we liked how we could choose the whiskys we wished to taste. we were also happy that we could take the tasters home in a drivers dram.

We did the tour and tasting. Make sure to book ahead of time as they were booked up and could not take walk-ins the day we went. Production is shut down every July so we didn’t actually see product being made but still got to tour the production facilities and it may have been better since no noise and could hear the tour guide easily.

A great tour led by our Guide Tom. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and passionately spoke about their unique product. A great advert for Scottish Whiskey, and. En Nevis Distillery. Well worth the visit, always go for the 4 sampler option.

We had a great tour of this distillery, very informative with a friendly guide. The tour ends with either 2 or 4 drams of Whiskey included in the price (depending on the tour version you go for). Very good quality Whiskey & 100% worth a visit

If you are looking for whisky that’s different from the usual stuff you get in the shops, then check out this distillery. You have 2 different options on the tour depending on how many different whiskies you want to try. It was amazing to see how the whisky is made, and all the staff are so friendly. Don’t forget to book your tour at least a couple of days in advance.

Our guide, Jennifer, was friendly and knowledgeable; took the Classic Tour option which included 4 whisky tastings and a free glass too!

Yelp
This was our first distillery tour in Scotland. I'm not sure why the low reviews from other people, maybe they didn't do their Scotland research but before coming to the country the first thing I came across was "always make reservations for distilleries". Never assume you can walk in on a tour. Especially for a small town, less well known distillery like this one. Well I emailed them several weeks in advance telling them I'd be coming in on the late train from Glasgow (turns out we came in early) but when we arrived, it seemed like they were going to hold the tour for us. ...how considerate (see what contacting in advance does, I was also interested in a higher priced tour so that might have helped) The basic tour is £5 and includes one whisky sample at the end, but you can upgrade to the tasting tour £18 which includes 3 additional samples (just one of us did it, my hubby was getting tired of whisky samples. ....crazy I know) Both tours are the same, Start with a cute, funny, but outdated and cheesy movie, then move through the distilling process which is both educational and a feast for the senses (does anyone ever get contact drink from all the fumes? ). After the tours we end up in the tasting room where each bottle they offer for sale was explained and we tried their youngest blended whisky. For those of us on the tasting tour we got to sample a 12 year blend, a very Peaty single malt ( made from a middle ages recipe) no longer sold, and their cask strength blended called glen Coe (great bouquet on that one). I ended up wanting to buy something on the sweeter side so they let me sample their blue bottle of dew (smelled fruity and like honey....didn't taste that way though) and I ended up buying that blended bottle as well as another bottle of something else. It's not that well known so if you see their whisky around you'll likely only get to purchase the 10 yr in stores but they have a great variety in their shop. I appreciate how they didn't rush us even though we (and another couple were the last customers) and when we left it had been clear they had been waiting for us to close up and go home. They were very nice and chatted and joked with us about whisky etc. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this distillery to others.

Yelp
A Taste & a Tour I noticed some of the very mixed reviews here. I think I know what happened. Our tour guide was an actual production line worker. If you are lucky enough to get him, you will have a very informative tour. Sorry, I don't remember his name. He answered every question, and he was thorough about the production techniques in distilling fine whiskey. Even with our large group, he conveyed interest and pride in Ben Nevis whiskey. I think a tour here depends on getting the right guide. Our guide made the tour for us.

Yelp
This place has a serious morale problem. It may start with the portly kilted man at the bar -- very rude.

Yelp
We visited the distillery for a tasting, not a tour. The tasting area seemed a bit run down and the two gentlemen who were there seemed overburdened; one was friendly, the other not-so-much. The whiskey was okay but the environment and customer service were lacking. We made it to Fort William after several days of whiskey tasting in Islay, maybe our expectations were too high. They do have a great selection of whiskey books to peruse while tasting.

Yelp
The long trip to this distillery from Glasgow could generate a very funny book. Or at least a hilarious blog posting. I headed there with the Glasgow Whisky Club and But I will concentrate on the distillery itself. The lovely and dry witted John Carmichael greeted and presented a lovely lunch for the group. After Lunch some of us went to look at the Highland Cows and Shetland Pony roaming in the paddock next to Visitors Centre (Ben, Nevis and Dram). The trip around the distillery was extensive and except for a look at the warehouses, every part of the whisky production process was shown in detail. The only disappointment was the state of the buildings. The new Japanese owners had obviously not paid attention to the infrastructure but the lads at Ben Nevis were producing excellent whisky despite the situation. The stories were plentiful about the colourful characters that have worked and not worked at Ben Nevis Distillers. The tasting showed off the variety of drams being produced including the gold award winning 25 year old. The buildings would make you think that this distillery is not worth it but the people of this place definitely make up for it.

Yelp
A pleasant stop to experience the process of how to make a whisky. The guided tour takes you around the destillery for about 1 hr. And finally you will enjoy the product you have been waiting for. I liked it !

Yelp
This was ok if you've never been to a whiskey tour. There is a funny video to begin with and you walk through all the rooms. Might depend on which guide you get, but ours seemed a bit unenthusiastic. Might be better to just spend your £5 on a glass at the pub

Yelp
Paid 5 pounds each for a bored tour guide and a short tour that didn't even show us the barrel aging space. I tasted one whisky that was their lowest tier (3-6 years). Don't waste your time even on a rainy day.

Yelp
The distillery is a must on any trip to this part of scotland, the staff are very helpful in explaining the process of how the make the Whiskys and you get a sample at the end. Parking is easy and they have a cafe there to for small snacks. It is not very expencive to get it and takes about 1 hour.
