The Vegan Boos

Google
Very excited by the written as well as the oral propaganda around Ben Rahim‘s outstanding coffee, I went there this morning and ordered an Iced Latte Macchiato. In contrast to most cafes, they served it with a frozen cube of espresso. The problem with that however is: It takes quite long (like 30-45min) to get to taste the espresso, bruh. Which kinda forces me to conclude that this is not a place for ice coffee lovers… Also, I was a bit disappointed by the almost non-existent vegan food options… Nonetheless, the very friendly service, the laid-back vibes and their embodiment of love for coffee make a visit worth it. Well, I‘m gonna come back, give them another chance, try one of their other (non-iced) creations and hopefully have a more satisfying experience and potentially adjust my review.

Ben Rahim – A Hidden Gem Brewing Bold Flavors Tucked away in one of Berlin’s more discreet corners, Ben Rahim is the kind of coffee shop you don’t just stumble upon—you discover it. And once you do, you’re in for a treat that’s both refined and refreshingly different. The coffee menu doesn’t play it safe—it ventures out. From exotic beans to bold flavor profiles, every cup feels intentional. The Sidi Bou Colombian hand-drip I tried was a standout: layered, aromatic, and just the right balance of rich and bright. Paired it with their Dubai croissant, which wasn’t just a pastry—it was an experience. Sweet and beautifully flaky, it matched the coffee perfectly and felt like a cross-continental culinary hug. The space itself? Minimalist, calming, and just hidden enough to feel like you’re in on a secret. A true oasis for coffee lovers seeking more than just caffeine. If you're in Berlin and want a break from the usual flat whites and crowded corners, Ben Rahim is absolutely worth finding.

Google
Amazing coffee, perfectly brewed, and the Gouda crossaint was absolutely delicious. One of my favorite cafés in Berlin! Great vibe with seating options inside and out. A must-visit for every Berlin trip. 5/5.

Google
You can tell they work quality coffee and the vibe in the store is successfully created. However, I found the food very much overpriced, specially after trying the expresso cake and the banana bread, both were suuper dry and very much lacking of flavor. Also the portions are unfairly small having in consideration the prices. Nothing to complain about the attention but unfortunately not a place I would suggest .

Google
Very expensive… Iced Latte was 6€ and what I got was a cup of milk with an espresso Ice Cube… like did someone think this through? So I need to wait for my drink and when I get it I gotta wait another 10-15min for the Ice Cube to melt, so I have my final Iced Latte 😐 Doesn’t make much sense and when you first get it you kinda feel scammed. The pastries taste nice tho.

Google
Ben Rahim’s coffee is truly top-notch—rich in flavor, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with high-quality beans. However, their pricing feels unjustifiably high, with €5.50 for a flat white (€1 extra for plant-based milk), especially considering that equally good, if not better, coffee can be found in Berlin for less. The ambiance is minimalist but somewhat uncomfortable—the seating consists of hard wooden benches, making it less inviting for a longer stay. Additionally, the self-service concept (picking up and returning your cup, cleaning the table yourself) doesn’t quite match the premium price tag. The café also lacks a restroom, which can be inconvenient if you plan to linger. Overall, Ben Rahim offers excellent coffee, but the price and overall experience don’t quite justify the cost. If you're looking for better value for money, there are definitely better options in Berlin.

Google
Nice small place, very nice stuff. Tables are too small for anything else than two cups of coffee. Coffee today was too sour for my taste for espresso. There are no small cups for espresso and the cups are not heated before being served, so espresso instantly becomes warm, not hot, in a relatively large cold cup. Anyway will come again for a coffee latte.

I love supporting businesses with good story and strong authenticity. Ben Rahim is one of them. Love the way they promote yameni coffee.. coffee, atmosphere, staff, service, food, everything were excellent! I keep coming to this place every time I’m in Berlin.. well deserved a 5 ⭐️

Yelp
Cozy cafe that's great for breakfast! I ordered a cappuccino and shakshuka brioche. The cappuccino had a weaker espresso flavor than I preferred (maybe a lighter roast?). The sandwich was definitely the highlight. I love shakshuka but it's a bit heavy for breakfast. Having it in a smaller, sandwich form solves that problem! I felt like I still got the "shakshuka essence", plus the bread was amazing--so buttery and soft.

Yelp
Stopped by Ben Rahim this morning on my Airbnb host's strong recommendation. I ordered a flat white - superbly made with high quality beans. It was delicious! Best coffee I've had in Berlin. The owner and staff are lovely people, and the outdoor seating area was a delightful place to sit, relax and enjoy.

Yelp
Only tried their iced latte with oat milk. For 4.40€ it comes with oatly oatmilk and a big espresso ice cube that includes two espresso. You have to swirl and stir it until it melts inside the milk. It's creamy and tasty! For those who love it creamy and strong espresso taste it's the way to go

Yelp
Amazing coffee place with great coffee and cakes. The ambiance both outside and inside is very relaxed and the personnel is friendly

Yelp
This place is a quaint little spot in the middle of the concrete jungle. Everything here is done with care and thought. The Tunisian coffee was prepared to perfection and the light roast drip coffee was super smooth and floral. The pastry options were vast but we tried a couple and they were all delicious. We really enjoyed discovering this little gem.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee, solid flat whites and iced drinks - this is some of the best in Berlin. The drink called "Rose Latte" is reminiscent of a drink from Philz Coffee (in the US), it is lightly sweetened and has hints of rose and green cardamom. Expect your drinks here to be strong!

Yelp
Good solid flat white in mitte. This coffee shop can be hard to find since it was not on the main street. The menu was very simple with limited options. Pricing was competetive with craft coffee shops nearby. They had an oat milk option too which is a huge plus. The baristas cared about their craft and spent the time between orders experimenting and cupping. There was free super fast wifi without passwords required which is a lifesaver for a foreigner in germany.

Yelp
This is our last leg of this winter trip back in Berlin for another 4 days. Today is the day after the holiday weekend, Monday, we have trouble finding cafes in the Hackesche Hofe, but this one is open, we come back again and we are delighted twice!

Yelp
Small and cozy, with a relaxing ambience. Hidden in the yard, away from main road noises. A great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and some snacks, even if I'm not into filter coffee.

Yelp
Best coffee in town! Quite small bit quiet and lovely. They really love the art of barista. Enjoy!

Yelp
I was here on a rainy day. I liked the coffee and the server was very friendly. It is tucked away from the busy Hackscher Markt in this open roof back alley, sort of undisturbed and hidden away you could say. Space was crammed and I sort of had to wait for a seat to sit down. It might be because everyone was indoor to avoid the rain that day. I can imagine myself enjoying this space in the summer as well, maybe even more so. It was kind of hard to use my laptop here though because of the crammed space, so I would only come here to read a book or something but not to work. I don't remember wifi being exceptional here and I didn't have a lot of data on my phone, but I was productive while I was here because I brought a book with me.

Yelp
Coffee is definitely good (but not the best I've had in the area) - but the size is really small, a tiny (maybe 150 ml) cup for latte macchiato - for 3.30 euro. Butter croissant (good) for 1.80 euro is definitely overpriced. But at least it was good. Tiny but pleasant place. Just make the latte a normal size for that price!! I won't come here anymore, pity - it's close to home.

Yelp
Edit: Below complaint was handled very nicely by the owner and another person of the staff! After I posted it I was contacted, received an apology and a voucher. That is really great (and unexpected) customer service. I will keep enjoying the good coffee there! Thanks! First Post: Way to expensive!!! 3,90€ für an Espresso Macchiato today... :-( - after I used to pay 2,90€ before. I asked for an explanation why from one day to another I was supposed to pay for a small Espresso (which is 2€ at that place) suddenly 1,90€ for an extra shot of milk. Instead of telling me what they really charge I was cut off with: "Extra milk for an Espresso is more complicated than for a Latte Macchiato" (which costs 3,50€). - Sorry, but that is ridiculous!

Yelp
Even being tucked into a corner of hyper touristy hackesche höfe this is a Berlin gem. Fantastic coffee, levante snacks, good croissants. They use square mile coffee and the place attracts people working and living near by. Nice little Israeli touch to it. Enjoy!

Yelp
The coffee was phenomenal! It came with a full explanation of the beans from the barista. Be warned, the restaurant is tiny and so the seating is minimal.

Yelp
Great Flat White. This place is the real deal if you love high quality roasted beans. Knowledge and friendly baristas. If you enjoy great coffee, you'll like this place.

Yelp
This is the best coffee I have found in Berlin. Expert baristas. Excellent Flat Whites for all you antipodeans. Even their tea is carefully brewed. Hi there for a great experience.

Yelp
Cosy and sweet cafe hidden in Mitte. EXPENSIVE though. Its very small and not good for big groups

Rand E.

Yelp
amusing coffee snobs. will not allow milk or cream in their coffee. very polite about it :) the coffee is fine, poured a little short and a bit overpriced. and a bit precious...

Yelp
The atmosphere excellent , Coffee I feel excellent might be an understatement. The head barista takes his craft very seriously and it pays off. I recommend the V60 or the espresso. The service was brilliant , the barista was attentive informative and most importantly genuinely kind and friendly someone who seemed to really care about his product and his customers. I think this is a relatively new speciality in Berlin and well worth the visit before the secret gets out and the place has queues for miles.
