Overall, this long-distance bus terminal is acceptably clean and offers many route to southern region like Vinh, Danang, Ho Chi Minh, Pleiku. There are many innercity bus that go to different district in Hanoi and you can download Busmap Hanoi to check their route. However, is a bit inconvenient that you have to pay 3k for public toilet at this bus terminal and there are many people who will keep following you to ask if you want to go with their bus operator.

Giáp bát Coach/ Bus station is for travelling province where are in South of Hà Nội: Hà Nam, Thái Bình, Nam Định, Ninh Bình, Thanh Hóa, Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh, Hưng Yên... Most vehicles have air conditioner and Non- Smoking. It is more convenient to go to province center because busses travels several times per day. In case you tend to go to provincial districts, there have fewer bus. And it is more passengers at weekends than weekdays.

Bus station is itself old but okay. Inside is clean for vietnamese standards... If you come here via taxi/Grab car, there will be a bunch of guys that will start opening your door and hitting the windows basically wanting you to book tickets through them. Wished the bus station would tell them to go somewhere else or restrict them from acting this way. Just a heads up

Big bus station, but careful with your luggage

Beware of some salesman shouting the destinations - they behave like zombies XD If you get out of taxi/car/bus, you would be surrounded immediately. They approached really near and even touched us - we didn't really feel safe 😢😢😢 Mostly time you could buy ticket on the same day, don't need to buy before. Vietnamese buses aren't comfortable and except of human the driver could transport everything. We travelled with few chickens and few boxes of cement to Ha Long. It took 5h. Recommended to take luxury bus ("limousine"). For a little bit more money the car would take you straight from your home and much faster - you don't have to come to this bus station anymore.

Laos bus. I think this is where Laos night bus dropped us off. There is a specific area to exit. There you will find #4 bus (blue color for us) that heads to old quarter. Cost is 7000. Takes about 1hr due to traffic. This is likely an international terminal given the number of busses.... But can't confirm.

A good choice for backpackers or whoever travelling on budget. Each ticket cabin sells specific route with price listed clearly. Sometimes the officials can be impatient, please do not mind as they are not really good at english.
