I recently had the pleasure of being at the Benaki Museum - Pireos Street Annexe in Athens under unique circumstances: I was there to host an event where I had to deliver a presentation. While my professional commitment regrettably did not allow me the time for a complete tour of the collections – a real shame – I was still able to appreciate the museum's beauty and importance. The artwork on display, particularly the pieces by modern and contemporary Greek artists, are of remarkable beauty and undoubtedly warrant a dedicated visit. The selection is clearly curated and reflects the excellence of Hellenic creativity. The true highlight of my experience was the Auditorium area and the event organization. The auditorium is very large, modern, and incredibly well-organized. The setup and management of our event, including the crucial soundcheck, proceeded flawlessly, demonstrating a standard of professionalism that is second to none. A special note of praise goes to the museum's staff and personnel. Every member was not only extremely competent and prepared but also incredibly helpful and courteous, ensuring our presentation ran as smoothly and optimally as possible. In summary: This is a venue that successfully combines a splendid artistic heritage with state-of-the-art event spaces, all managed with excellence. I highly recommend the Benaki Museum at Pireos, both for a cultural visit and as a top-tier location for professional events.

I went to visit the museum today to purchase Xmas gifts … 150 gifts to be exact and was waiting to be served. The lady behind the counter with a grey bob was indeed serving a client however then the conversation started to get personal. She did make eye contact with me with a blank expression not even to say I will be with you. Maybe it’s time the organisation looked at hiring new blood that’s not complacent. Selling beautiful things equates to beautiful manners. Wouldn’t you agree?

I really enjoyed one of the 2 exhibitions. Particularly, the "protolia" one; presenting the evolution in the art styles of some of Greece's most famous artists through the decades. The exhibition theme is such that even non art connoisseurs can really engage, understand and appreciate. Cudos!

We went here to see a photography exhibition and we were also treated to a lifetime retrospective of George Hadjimichalis. It's a beautiful space and the exhibitions were very well installed. The museum is huge and handicapped accessible. We spent the entire day and enjoyed lunch at the cafe. Extensive gift shop, helpful staff, spotless restrooms. Highly recommend.

Lately, at this museum, I've been enjoying photography exhibitions. Today, I saw the Spirits Unseen photography exhibition by Myrto Papadopoulos that was well installed in a modern, simple setting. 😊👍 The museum is huge and handicapped accessible. It has a nice café/restaurant ... where I and friends enjoyed good cups of coffee after seeing the photo exhibit! 😍😋 The museum shop is also really nice ... offering a wide range of quality gift items, many in the higher price range ... but beautiful & tastefully displayed. 😍 I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

One of the best museum in Greece. You can get some idea about Modern Greek society by visiting here. Especially, now they are exhibiting "the life before and after 1821" to celebrate 200 years greek independence war.

The photos were very beautiful, together with helpful descriptions. I’m happy I could visit during my stay. I would definitely recommend. The building itself is very beautiful. With AC.
