Benci House - Luxury Guest House

We were very disappointed with our recent stay at Benci House. We booked the Rovere Room, unaware that it sits directly above Moyo Bar, where loud music played until 3:50 a.m. every night. The street below was always crowded with people drinking, surprisingly, that wasn’t the worst part. It was the constant boom that made it impossible to sleep even with noise cancelling headphones.||We asked to change rooms but were told they were fully booked. Based on the noise levels, I imagine this must be a common complaint, yet no warning was given at the time of booking.||We expected a small boutique hotel, but in reality, this felt more like an Airbnb setup. We never saw the owner or any staff in person, all communication was via WhatsApp, and we had to collect our key cards from the bar downstairs (Moyo).||Other issues with the room:| |Air conditioning was in the window, mostly blocked by long curtains.|Lighting was very dim.|The mini-fridge was warm and unusable.|The toilet kept flushing constantly unless manually adjusted.|The shower had no temperature markings, making it difficult to use.||I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I really wish someone had warned us about these things in advance.||To be fair, the location is excellent, a taxi rank just steps away and very close to Florence’s main sights. But unfortunately, that’s about the only positive for us 😔

Accommodation 646 The "place" is a converted floor above a bar with fancy decor. The service and experience was terrible after that. Would not stay again The room, Cypress, smelt of smoke. We requested a twin room and found a double with such a narrow gap to each side of the bed we bashed our feet and heads on the wood. We didn't sleep well (worst of the trip) - we changed accom the following morning. No sign from management where we arrived. We arrived at 4pm as agreed (they were insistent on a time even though check-in was fhe, already tight. 1-6pm (or 20€ fine) Despite them messaging all the time as soon as we saw it wasn't a twin bed it was silence from them :/ despite us repeatedly messaging them. The shower smelt. The room temperature was a constant 24c, same as the sweaty train. We tried to change the A/C multiple times but Breakfast states it is included yet there was no sign, either when or where. The bar below had no idea if seems (which turned out not to be the case later) The coffee machine water  wasn't changed, nor were the dirty cups etc, not enough cups either The hand soap pump didn't work despite being full (split in the hose probably) The slippers were fine. The robe too hot in the evening. The tea was nice. There's a narrow view of the sky and a wall. The balcony is nice in reception. You can't use the Mac. The shower temperature wasn't steady. The WiFi/router in the room didn't work, it kept flashing, despite waiting and turning it off and on again on two occasions. It's very expensive (even for Florence to stay here, and the location, while good is no better than others in the centre...and is in fact the further side of the centre to navigate past swarms of non-linear tourists as you haul your way with luggage from the train station) Someone had complained about the breakfast choices but each of the four options have multiple things and it was very tasty... However the lack of sleep caused by the room distracted from the experience. Even though breakfast is included, that seems a thing stated on the website.  Apparently there are two cards and one gives only 10% off. The breakfast increases a star review for me but the hot room, lack of twin when requested, lack of response when we arrived, plus the WiFi issues, the smoky room smell, the shower smell... Even the circular wooden dials were strange for the water.... Water makes them slippery! Plus you don't know where the hot/cold point is and you can't leave the setting for next time as you had to twist it to stop the flow. All for €279 :/

Best hotel Experience in Florence! We often come to Florence for business, and due a last minute cancellation from our ex favorite Place, we are glad to had discovered this Place! The room was a 5 stars, super confort and Also very stylish, and the host Raluka Is super nice and accomodating. Amazing value per Money!

There is a lot to love about this guesthouse and any critiques are more FYIs than true cons. ||As a guest house it isn’t like a traditional hotel but we loved it. ||Pros - staff was amazing. They used what’s app to communicate with no language barrier and were friendly and helpful. - free breakfast and serve yourself coffee - room was beautiful, the bed was so comfy and as we had an interior room, we didn’t hear any street noise at all. - loved the location near a trendier area away from the main tourist area. But still walkable from Tram 2 (but a bit of a hike!) ||Cons - second floor so not accessible - room was very small. We stayed two nights and had backpacks but if you are a heavy packer this may not be for you. - bathroom felt a bit dark. If you like brighter lighting to do your make up it may not be for you.

This is my new FAVOURITE place. Absolutely divine! The rooms are decorated to perfection. The vibe is warm, cosy and stylish. The location is perfect. The host is discreet yet friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Florence. Especially perfect for a romantic getaway 😉

Amazing bolt hole in the middle of Florence. Great location for all the major sights. Best night sleep all week, only slight small comment on the room we had, the bed was so big it took most of the floor space so opening 2 suitcases was a little difficult. Service impeccable and extremely helpful and attentive.

Fantastic location for a boutique hotel. Reception staff was very lovely and helpful with city recommendations. The hotel itself was immaculately cleaned, with great design, fully stocked minibar in room, good working air condition and smells great when you immediately walk in. I felt right at home. What I loved the most was that there are only 4 rooms and it's really quiet inside even though it's on a busy street in the city with lots of restaurants and bars on street level. You can't hear any noise. Will definitely be back to stay when I'm next in Firenze! Thank you for an exceptional stay.

Very nice, modern and clean guest house. Our host Sofia was so kind and helpful. She gave us advices and helped us with everything we asked for, including the garage and luggage. From booking to our arrival, everything worked great. The location is excellent. It is definitely to be recommended and we are looking forward to our next trip to Florence. Grazie ancora :)
