Bendigo Backpackers

I had the pleasure of a weekend stay at Bendigo Backpackers with my family. What a fantastic location!! The rooms were clean, with super comfy beds. Check in although contactless was easy, the accommodation was extremely clean, and lived up to the pictures on their website. Overall a great value, and very enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back.

Great clean and quiet place to stay, walking distance to the centre. My room was clean, warm and spacious, bed comfy, wifi working and with access to outside seating area. Kitchen was immaculately clean and lounge area looked comfortable although I didn't have time to enjoy it. Number of toilets and showers were adequate with no need to wait in line. It was very quiet when I was there, although you could easily hear others in the kitchen/living area. Great value and a view of the cathedral from the porch.

The room was very spacious and one of the loveliest backpackers we have ever stayed in. The bed were comfortable, lots of room to make ourselves at home. Centrally located which is a great bonus, great value for money accommodation, great amenities and easy and straightforward to check-in. Have already book in again in a few months time.

I'm well over 6 foot and came across a few issues within the shower, not to mention the rusted bar to hang the privacy sheet for the shower, the shower head didn't have a lot of presure which lead me to stand against the shower wall and the shower head pointing fairly high... then water leaked everywhere and only having one towel each, would of been nice to at least have an extra. And the coffee is the worst I've ever had for instant coffee... Whilst us being next to the shower room and toilet, loved finding no air freashener around so we got to enjoy the amazing smell from another backpacker taking a 2... Apart from those slight issues, it was a really good place to stay as you're passing through. Got confirmation and all the required info instantly and was happy overall with our stay. *Edit* Extremely disrespectful on honest reviews giving my partner a horrible message. Horrible customer service if you disagree with something... the shower by the first rooms has rust on the top bar... I can't be bothered going further with this but really disappointed in how it was handled!

Friendly environment and good menace from the owner. The room is big enough for a couple, very clean, quiet place and easy to walk down the city centre. Parking spot at the front and by the look on the street it’s very safe. Highly recommended, the bed was comfy. No air conditioning but they have a wall fun that does help a little bit. During the day the room can be hot if it’s hot outside but was cool over night. Thank you

I stayed here for two nights while working in Bendigo and simply couldn’t have picked a better place to rest my head! Access was very logical and meant the manager didn’t have to give me access when I arrived fairly late on my first night. My room was really well furnished, clean and comfortable, especially the bed. It’s in a quiet location considering it is very close to the CBD (5 minute walk) and I will definitely use Bendigo BackPackers again. Thank you!

This place is immaculate, and well worth staying at if in Bendigo for a few days. It's like a high class backpackers for adults. It's super clean and tidy. Close walking distance to everything, the beds are super comfy. Thank you Michelle, keep up the good work looking after this place.

ETA these people have attempted to now give me a misconduct review on booking.com. There was absolutely no misconduct. Literally the only thing they can be complaining about is the fact that I gave them a not positive review. AVOID! I've stayed in plenty of backpackers in my time. This is not a backpackers. It's more like an airbnb with shared facilities. Completely impersonal, no service at all. When you arrive you are confronted with a locked door and a sign saying check in at 2, absolutely no exceptions. I knew I couldn't check in early, but I expected a reception where I could leave my bag as I had to do things in Bendigo. At 1:58 I got texted keycodes for the front door and the bedroom door. So there is literally no staff onsite to check you in. The front door worked without issue, I had some difficulty with the bedroom door. When I called for assistance, nobody answered. About 10 minutes later I got a text saying that it should work. That's it. No call, no actual offer of assistance. I figured it out on my own. There is also no secured facility to leave your bag on check out either. They just tell you to leave it in the dining room or living room. Apparently I should not be bothered about the 5 other rooms with complete strangers in them having access to my valuables. The bed is so hard that my shoulders and hip were hurting after one night. The room is cold. I would not recommend at all.
