recently visited the estate and had a great overall experience. The winery itself is beautiful and offers a relaxing atmosphere. I had the chance to do a wine tasting—most of the wines were quite enjoyable! A small tip for improvement: one of the staff members assisting with the tasting was wearing a bit too much perfume, which did interfere slightly with fully appreciating the aromas of the wines. Since scent plays such a big role in tasting, a more neutral approach would be ideal. We also dined at the Book Barn Restaurant, which was a real highlight. The food was delicious, well-presented, and the service was warm and attentive. All in all, it was a lovely visit. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

We dined in as a large group of 10, including kids, and absolutely enjoyed everything about the experience. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the wine was excellent. We loved the ambiance — warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up. The table was ready with activity books for the kids when we arrived, which was such a lovely touch. Everything was so well thought out. A fantastic restaurant and a truly great experience!

The Good: Visited for my daughter’s birthday lunch at the Berkelouw Book Barn and was completely taken aback by how beautiful the vineyard and grounds are — simply stunning. It’s a picture-perfect location that feels like a hidden gem. The estate is dog-friendly, which was a lovely bonus, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. We were even offered a wine tasting, which added a special touch to an already memorable day. Room for Improvement: None from our visit — everything felt seamless and thoughtfully done. Would I Return? Absolutely — for the views, the atmosphere, and the experience. The Verdict: A breathtaking estate with charm, hospitality, and heart. Perfect for a special occasion or a relaxed afternoon among the vines.

As we made our Inland road trip from Sydney to Melbourne, we decided to stay at Bendooleys Estate Cottages and extended our stay too, given we liked the cottage and it was a good location to get to a couple south highland towns to explore. It's a very pretty setting and relaxing to be in. ||Nice cottage, although next time, I would ask for one, not as close to the Hume highway. They have good quality hotel amenities, but cottages are not serviced every day, even though they did a mini service when we requested on our extended stay. ||Like at every venue, some staff are very helpful and engaging, and some are not, which is okay. Irene at the Vine room was very friendly on our first day, and we also had good engagement from Bianca with accommodation.||While they had pleasant breakfast options, I think they could explore variety and change it up for alternate days, but that's just detail. |We conversed with a few guests who all enjoyed the area and their cottage. Would return in the summer as the surroundings would probably be very beautiful and more enjoyable.

Everything about Bendooley is just magic. The estate, the restaurant, the cellar door, the book store, the food and wine, the staff... I cannot fault Bendooley! So much so that we will be getting married there next year. This is a happy place for us and each visit is always better than the last.

Really great food, lovely atmosphere, helpful and attentive staff. Very pleased with our lunch. Menu had some great options for gluten free celiac daughter. I recommend this great place…make sure you make a reservation!

Wow! Was so disappointed after looking forward to trying for some time. Fritters were super oily and soo so much salt. The linguine pasta was drowned in so much butter that it was all you could taste and the chicken burger was a sloppy mess - didn’t even bother toasting the bottom of the bun it was mush against my fingers. Food does not justify the price please do not waste your time.

Stunning and picturesque setting, fast service and wonderful waitstaff. The pizzas and sides were really tasty. The venue only lost a star because the beef burgers were very salty and almost impossible to eat. Can’t wait until we return.
