Benihana –
I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this experience. Even though we got seated right away, we still had to wait around 5–10 minutes before anyone came to our table, and that was already disappointing. The tables around us were dirty, the busboy never cleaned them, and one table stayed covered in dirty plates the entire time we were there. For a place like Benihana, that’s unacceptable. It made the whole restaurant look neglected and poorly managed.
Now, let’s talk about the bartenders — a guy and a girl. Both were friendly, sure, but they had no idea how to take care of customers. The girl took our order without writing anything down, which sounds impressive until you realize she forgot half of what we asked for. I had to remind her multiple times, and it just made everything frustrating. For a restaurant charging premium prices, that kind of service shouldn’t happen.
The worst part? The lack of professionalism. Employees were horsing around and talking loudly while customers were still sitting at their tables. The bartender didn’t even use a tray when bringing out food — he carried hot bowls with his bare hands, spilling them on the table in the process. It was not only careless but also unsanitary. You could clearly tell they were rushing, probably because it was close to closing time, but if that’s the case, just be upfront and say you’re closing instead of serving customers half-heartedly.
The management clearly wasn’t paying attention to anything. No one walked around to check the tables, notice the mess, or make sure customers were being taken care of. It honestly felt like no one cared — not about the guests, not about cleanliness, and not about maintaining Benihana’s standards. For the amount they charge, I expected professionalism, good service, and at least decent food. Instead, I got the complete opposite.
The food was bland and rushed. It didn’t taste like what you’d expect from Benihana at all. It was like the chef didn’t even bother using seasoning — no salt, no flavor, nothing. Everything came out too fast, like they just wanted to get it over with. And that’s not the Benihana experience I’ve had before or what anyone paying a high bill deserves.
The prices, though? Still top-tier. That’s the only thing they managed to keep consistent — the high cost. For the price I paid, I would’ve rather gone to Popeyes or McDonald’s, where at least the service and food would’ve been better. That’s how bad this experience was.
To make it worse, this was the start of our vacation — and this place completely ruined the vibe right from the beginning. When you’re looking forward to a nice dinner with family to kick off a trip, the last thing you expect is to deal with bad service, unprofessional staff, and management that doesn’t care.
I won’t be coming back to this Benihana ever again. In fact, this experience was so disappointing that I won’t be going to any Benihana for a while. They need to seriously reevaluate their management, their training, and their priorities because what I experienced was beyond unacceptable.
Terrible customer service. Poor management. Unprofessional staff. Bland food. Dirty tables. Overpriced everything.
This location completely missed the mark on what Benihana is supposed to represent.
