How to Experience Tidal Bay, Nova Scotia’s Scenic Coastal Wine Region

"Benjamin Bridge offers a range of sparkling wines, including the slightly effervescent Nova 7 Muscat and a fresh, tangy Tidal Bay. The vineyard is family- and pet-friendly, open year-round with seasonal dining and activities, and offers guided tastings, including a full afternoon workshop with the head winemaker."

I've been living in Halifax since 2019, and how did I never know about this beautiful place? It's a wonderful place to spend a few hours with friends and family and enjoy great wines! I loved it and will always go back. Even though I don't really like winter, some friends told me it's also a very cozy place when the temperatures drop, lol.

This was one of many vineyards we visited In the region.Highlights of this one is truly the landscape and lounge ability of this place its truly lovely. Numerous seating options, inside tent , picnic tables, Fire pit, lawn games etc. Thou I was really surprised to not see or be offered indoor section or shop? And slightly disappointed in the limit in food menu and nothing cooked/ warm even the cheese dip was served cold. As for the wine it was lovely and the Nova 7 is a crowd pleaser I'm certain. Server was pleasant and heaters and blankets much appreciated to beable to enjoy in cooler temps.

We purchased bottle 204/400 of the Benjamin Bridge 2018 Underwear Quest this winter, from the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission. Yesterday we shared it with friends. We served it with oysters, which was the perfect pairing.

A girlfriend and I went for the sparkling wine tasting. Our host Ryan was absolutely amazing! He made us feel so welcome and had many laughs. Great experience overall! They also have a few games, so to entertain a bigger group

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Benjamin Bridge. The last time I was here was nearly ten years ago and it has grown so much. Enjoyed a fantastic charcuterie board and a glass of the Glooscap First Nation rosé and a Nova 7 slushie. We enjoyed the dog friendly section in the outdoor tent area, which was an added bonus!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Benjamin Bridge Winery and enjoyed a delightful experience. The atmosphere was charming, with picturesque surroundings that added to the overall appeal of the winery. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, providing an excellent service throughout my visit. However, it's worth noting that the food options were limited during my time there. The winery only offered popcorn as a snack, and while it was a tasty accompaniment to the wine, it would have been nice to have a more varied menu. Despite this, the quality of the wines and the pleasant ambiance made for an enjoyable outing. I look forward to returning and hope to see an expanded food selection in the future."

Scored major points with my spouse by taking her here. Beautiful winery with awesome staff. Faith and others took care of us. We felt welcome from the moment we got there. We loved the fire pit and blankets. Visiting the winery was the highlight of our day. We would love to return one day in the summer to enjoy the vineyard and valley in full bloom.

Google
After visiting a highly recommended winery where we were very disappointed, we ended up finding Benjamin Bridge's vineyard a little by chance, and the surprise was both very pleasant and delicious! The products' quality and the diversity of tastes and notes is to be highlighted, with my personal favourites being their Riesling and Tidal Bay. The offer lacks in red wine as it is not their speciality, but their sparkling, whites and rosés make up for it! Plus: the location is dreamy, set in a lush green valley with a small river below. And all members of the staff were super nice and helpful!!! Highly recommended if you want to enjoy fine wines in a laid-back, quiet, country atmosphere.

Yelp
The view was great and the service was quick! It was nice getting the flight and trying a little bit of everything. Would definitely go back again!

Yelp
Traveling through Nova Scotia we stayed in Wolfville and this was the most recommended winery. We didn't have enough time to go twice or we would have. It was a sunny, perfect afternoon and we had some of the signature wines while enjoying the grounds. The Nova 7 is especially fantastic.

Yelp
Very nice outdoor seating. Nice selection of wines. Flights available. Selection of non- wine drinks as well. Pretty setting amongst the grapes.

Yelp
I am a long-time fan of Benjamin Bridge sparkling wines. Did the terroir tasting. So great to experience a variety of wines paired with a beautiful charcuterie and very generous servings of wine ( there was a spitoon, does anyone actually do that??). The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely come back for more guided tastings.

Yelp
We did a terroir tasting with a focus on sparkling wine and had an amazing time! We had a private session for an hour and a half with a very knowledgeable and delightful staff member who answered all of our questions. We got to try several different types of grapes and wine making methods and the tasting was accompanied by a beautiful plate of local cheeses and meats plus fruits and vegetables grown on the estate. The honey from the estate was phenomenal. Beautiful setting, delicious wines.

Yelp
Winning over wine snobs and cheap drunks alike, Benjamin Bridge is the home of the glorious Nova 7, spectacular Tidal Bays, and sparklings that are well outside of my personal price range. In a rare glimpse of what heaven must be like, I was able to visit the facility for their first private tour and tasting led personally by their winemaker Jean-Benoit Deslauriers. I know, right? I still can't really process all The Happy that swept through me that day. Certainly more focused on wine production than your average winery with gift shops, gardens and bistros, there isn't much to see at Benjamin Bridge outside of their very sleek decor and monogrammed lobby which I may conveniently steal seeing as we share the same initials. That said, when they open for tours, you won't be disappointed. We were able to learn more about their history, wine-making process, the unique local environment and how that impacts what ends up in the glass, and their many commitments to minimize their eco footprint on the area. And of course we got to try many, many wines. Easily one of the best experiences I've had so far this year!

Yelp
Amazing selection of delicious sparkling wines. Extremely hospitable staff, especially the lovely blonde girl from New Brunswick that was both knowledgeable and fantastic.

Yelp
Friends and I visited three wineries last week for wine tastings, and our experience at each varied greatly. We were so glad we finished our day at Benjamin Bridge with their tasting guide Ryan and we just can't say enough good things about him, his knowledge and the wonderful tasting tour he gave us. We also loved all three wines we tasted where the same could not be said about the others... so best wines and best customer experience hands down.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and view. Torrential rain while we were there an staff was great! No complaints that they had to run back and forth through the rain... and through huge puddles. they must have been soaked but kept serving with a smile. Chips as a snack is a bit expensive at $2.50 for a tiny bag is my only complaint. (But awesome they have covered bridge chips!)

Yelp
I was lucky enough to experience a private tour of Benjamin Bridge during a recent trip to the valley, and if rumors are correct soon others will be able to take in this absolutely fantastic experience as well. What I love about Benjamin Bridge is that they know what Nova Scotia does well when it comes to wine - sparkling wines and aromatic whites. And luckily, those are right up my alley! I loved hearing from winemaker Jean-Benoit Deslauriers about how all the wines are made. He clearly has such a passion for what he does and so much knowledge, I left with a much greater appreciation for the Nova 7 I so often consume!

Yelp
I've been a lover of Nova 7 for the past few summers so I was thrilled to get a chance to tour Benjamin Bridge's facilities. This tasting room is sleek, and we got to take a tour of one of the wine making rooms and it reminded me of one of the Champagne houses I visited in Reims. The winemaker was our leader during the tour and his passion for making wine really came across during the 90 minutes or so we spent with him. He had us try the Vero, Tidal Bay, the Rose, 2011 and 2012 Nova 7's, their red wine and their ice wine. All were unique and delicious. It was surprising how much difference there was between the two Nova 7's. Jean-Benoit also had us try a sample of the unrefined Pinot Noir grape juice to show us what it takes to become the delicious wine we know and love. This winery was the highlight of my wine weekend in Wolfville.

Yelp
Some good wine, but not a great experience and here's why. First, the tasting price vs. the pour. $12 for only 4 tastes, very small amounts, and no credit or partial credit towards a purchase. Next, there were 20 people who arrived for our tasting and were led out under their tent. The woman leading the tasting began with their best wine, the "non-vintage" sparkling white, which is better than many Champagnes I've had. That portion was good, but 15 minutes past before the Tidal Bay was poured and accompanying stories began. The pour got smaller and the stories droned on, with our hostess repeating herself not once or twice but three times. Some 15 minutes went by before the third wine, a Provence style Rose, got poured. More stories, much excitement, small pour. It was a decent wine but not particularly memorable. Finally, some 15 minutes later, their signature wine, the Nova 7, was poured. More stories, more accolades. I truly don't understand the attraction to this sweet, cloying wine, except to accompany very spicy food, but it's quite popular in NS. So... 45 minutes to taste 4 ounces of wine each at a cost of $24 per couple. While the view is lovely, the cost is exorbitant compared to other nearby wineries My advice... skip the tasting entirely or split the tasting and buy the sparkling white for $27. Have it at home where you can relax with some good food and not be subjected to those repetitive anecdotes!

Yelp
Love this winery. Some of the best wines I've had. If you're lucky enough to live in Nova Scotia you should definitely check this place out.

Yelp
Touring Benjamin Bridge is the most beautiful, decadent experience I've ever had in this Nova Scotia. Not only were we treated to some of the most beautiful vintage wines, but the infinitely knowledgable and personable sales representative Brendan was our guide. If you know wine, or you don't - this is an absolute must visit vineyard in the Annapolis valley. 10/10 loved the atmosphere, the wine and the experience.
