It’s always exciting when forced to lunch in a new area and you luck into making a new discovery. Needing to bide my time before a hastily arranged appointment, I decided to treat myself to lunch, and wanted something g fresh and different. Thankfully Benjamin French Bakery & Cafe was nearby. I enjoyed a lovely Bordeaux sandwich, a fruit tart, and an Americano. All were exceedingly delicious and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Google
it’s a nice little café. Staff seems friendly enough one to choose for breakfast or for lunch bathroom you do need a code to get into Sim. Seating can be limited depending on how busy they might be outdoor seating is also available. I had the bagel and creme cheese it was good and bagel was soft not hard which was great. My wife had the mushroom quiche and salad which she enjoyed. Fresh OJ and an Americano to top of off.

Google
Just came in for a chocolate croissant. Over $5 for a croissant. It's more expensive than ordering a bagel. Definitely splurge 3 more dollars and get a whole sandwich. Not enough chocolate inside, but that's me. Happy eating, my people.

The food is better than the service, and that’s not saying much. They have one pastry that my husband really likes and is the only reason I go back. The woman with the dark , long wavy hair is void of emotion at best, only time I’ve seen her smile or speak with affection is when she’s flirty with the cook.

We had a nice experience here! It's not in my top Orlando coffee shops, but it is cute. The food and sweets looked amazing, the service was friendly, place was clean.. not too much to say other than it was a pleasant experience.

Google
One of my favorite bakeries in downtown Orlando. The pastries are extremely good, my favorite being the Creme brulee. They also have great breakfast options from sandwiches to bagels to croissants. It's very unique and I love the calming atmosphere inside as well as outside. The outdoor seating is awesome, reminds me of the cafes in France. The workers are really friendly too. Would recommend it to anyone visiting downtown.

Peaceful, comfortable vibe and creatively delicious options - from sweet or savory crepes (and way more options) to baked delicacies reminiscent of a Parisian patisserie!

Yelp
An incredible hidden gem in Thornton park! Adorable little spot with ample inside and outside seating. We loved the bacon, egg & cheese croissant and the club sandwich (10/10 fresh baked baguette). Delicious tea selection -- I enjoyed the hot green tea & my husband enjoyed the iced ginger peach tea. A delicious looking bakery case of sweet treats; we are obsessed with the fresh baked chocolate croissants. Service was friendly & speedy. Can't wait to come back with girlfriends for salads & a bottle of mimosas for brunch next time.

Yelp
Excellent cafe!! I had the Parisienne sandwich and it was delicious. The chocolate croissant is amazing. Highly recommended! We drove here from Kissimmee on vacay. Totally worth finding it!

Yelp
A very simple little French bakery situated right next to lake Eola. I loved how light and welcoming the atmosphere was. I highly recommend their Americano with oat milk, and peppermint syrup. The service was fast and very friendly. Visit today!

Yelp
Place is so cute, coffee is amazing, food is amazing, service is amazing. Clean and friendly staff. We are visiting Orlando and went here both mornings to try some other stuff on the menu. Great experience! Dog friendly. Gave our dog a pup cup and a water bowl.

Yelp
Thornton Park is one of my favorite Orlando communities, and Benjamin sits right in its heart. Guys, this place is the sweetest; if you prefer sweet or savory, you are in for a treat. They freshly squeeze their orange juice! Worth the stop for breakfast or lunch; besides the great food, the countertop and outdoor seating make for great people-watching views. Try the Delice Du Sud Quiche, it hits every time!

Yelp
Fantastic cafe! Stopped here on New Years Day and has a wonderful lunch! The Bordeaux ( Butter, tomato, brie cheese, apple, grapes, and balsamic dressing) was perfect! Served on a delicious baguette, I was thrilled with the flavor profile. We also had several coffee drinks, macarons, and a breakfast sandwich. All great! Staff was very friendly. Nice ambience with lovely French music. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stopped here for bfast before walking around Lake Eola. Nice little place in Thornton Park, nothing fancy. Some items are made fresh to order, others are premade in the bakery case. We had the ham and cheese bagel, and the egg, cheese, and spinach croissant. Both were made to order, hot and delish. We also had a coffee and a latte, both good. Service is pretty bare bones, you have to get your own utensils, etc and remove your plates and things when done. Lots of seating inside and a few tables outside as well.

Yelp
The desserts were all so delicious and very cute looking. The staff were all very sweet and patient with us. Ambience is very calm, but bright. Cute little French bakery if you are in the area.

Yelp
This French Bakery is a hidden gem tucked away in Thornton Park. I have been wanting to check this cafe out, and finally had the chance to. They have a variety of desserts in the display cases including crossiants, quiche, tarts, napoleons, and an assortment of Macarons. They have breakfast sandwiches and serve lunch as well as drinks including lattes, tea, hot chocolate etc. I had to get some Macarons. I got a raspberry and a dark chocolate Macaron. They were both soft with a nice cream like filling with a perfect crunchy yet cake like consistency. However, they were $3 each which I think is a bit absurd for one Macaron. I got a Pan Au Chocolate Crossiant. This was delicious, soft and fresh. I also got a bagel with cream cheese. I am a pretty harsh critic regarding bagels and this bagel was different than typical NY Jewish bagels, but still good! It was grilled with a panini press so it was soft and a bit crispy. The cream cheese was whipped, but still creamy. I will say the service was a bit slow, but the cafe was pretty busy with alot of people waiting and it was after an event at Lake Eola. All of the employees were extremely warm and friendly. I definitely want to come back and try some of the other desserts. It's a bit expensive, but a nice addition to the Thornton Park area!

Yelp
The best!!! The Normandie salad and ginger peach ice tea are my go to. The croissants and quiche are delicious. Great place to sit outside for lunch.

Yelp
The Benjamin French Bakery Cafe is a great place in Thornton Park to grab a coffee and maybe a bite to eat. The staff is friendly and I enjoyed sitting at a table outside and just watching life pass me by. Be advised that the prices are a little bit higher than what you might expect to pay, but it is in Thornton Park and they are not outrageously high priced. But it is a noticeable price difference. I came over here before taking a walk around Lake Eola park. It is definitely convenient to that Park and to the neighborhood surrounding it. If you are looking for a place to grab a coffee and something to eat, this is not a bad option. Again, it is not inexpensive, but that is to be expected in the downtown Orlando area, especially Thornton Park. Overall, I will give them four stars.

Yelp
Quaint, cute, slightly romantic. Benjamin French Bakery gives off that vibe. Located in historical Thorton Park district of Orlando, this French Eatery is a fun find in an area full of the same. The French Bistro music transported me back to France. It is an Americanized French Bistro, with individual quiches instead of a full one. I had the Quiche Lorraine which although small was very good and just enough for a Sunday Morning. Also had the Salmon Bagel which was quite exceptional. I almost gave Benjamin French Bakery 4 stars, but that Salmon Bagel alone was worth the extra star. It was the highlight of the morning meal. Only one hiccup, made the mistake of ordering a Mango smoothie. It was absolute horrible. Mostly sugar with a hint of Mango. Remonded me of baby food from the 80s. Just not good at all. I sent it back and they exchanged it for a French coffee which was quite good. This was a really great experience.

Yelp
I ordered breakfast this morning from this cafe through Postmates. There were three breakfast sandwiches and two almond croissants, all arrived crushed and cold. The almond croissants were crushed flat in a paper tray inside of a paper bag? The eggs inside of the bacon egg and cheese croissant as well as the spinach and feta croissant were overcooked, crushed and packed the same way as the almond croissants. I would like to think that if I was inside the restaurant it might have had a better experience.

Yelp
Get the Parisienne sandwich on baguette, AMAZING! Delicious coffee and pastries as well!

Olga S.

Yelp
I live by the bakery and will stop by to try to support local small businesses. This is the second time when I have arrived for something quick and it states they open at 8 am. It was 7:57 am and there are 2 people behind the counter talking. For a small business one would think they would open their doors and say come in , it will be a few minutes. They did not, so I went to Starbucks around the corner and spent my $ there.

Yelp
I had a Groupon for here and finally decided to try it out. We started with the blueberry croissant which is filled with vanilla cream which was delicious. My husband had the build your own crepe with chicken, mushrooms and goat cheese. There was plenty of chicken, but it was a little dry. I had the St. Tropez sandwich, salmon, cream cheese and greens on a baguette. The sandwich was very filling. If we are back in the area we will return.

Yelp
Ownership is super rude. Had a really bad experience a couple years ago and haven't forgotten it, it was that rude.

Yelp
Croque Madame, this little place is a gem! Cute little area to sit outside and the workers bend over backwards to make you happy. The pastries look amazing, can't wait to taste them!

Yelp
My first time here. I'm living the vibe here. I was greeted by Zoe with a warm and freshly smile. I had a delicious cappuccino and a fresh warm croissant. Yummy!!! Come and enjoy Benjamin's French Bakery! Bon appétit

Matt T.

Yelp
One of the best croissants I've ever had. The lava cake is to die for too. The atmosphere is very quaint and in a very nice area.

David F.

Yelp
Benjamin Bakery is an absolute gem! Good luck finding a better croissant. their freshly squeezed orange juice (real orange juice) should also be on your radar. The cozy vibe on the inside with nice window facing high tops gives the perfect people watching perch.

Yelp
The Deauville is just such a great baguette sandwich! I make a special trip regularly just to get it. Love this place! Merci mille fois!
google avatar

Kristen H.

Yelp
Incredibly slow... 10 minute+ for a pastry & a cold tea? And that was with 5 people working.
google avatar

Santina R.

Yelp
Freshly squeezed orange juice that is super refreshing, would be nice if they served it cold though. Sandwiches are phenomenal, their bread is really tasty and fresh. Creme brûlée was phenomenal and tarte was pretty good.

Yelp
This little bakery is just down the street from where we stayed in Orlando. I bet we went there no less than 3 times in 5 days. They have the best pastries and croissants I've had outside of Paris! On Saturday and Sunday they make the most amazing raisin au pain. I first had in France and literally can't find anyone in Birmingham who makes so when we saw them at Benjamin bakery I was thrilled! You must visit on a weekend to try them! French bread is fantastic too!

Yelp
I came here for lunch on a beautiful sunny day and sat outside. I ordered the Monaco sandwich with a side salad. It has chicken, hard boiled egg, greens, tomato, and Mayo on a crusty French baguette. I found it delicious! I love a good baguette, and the sandwich was huge--basically 2 sandwiches. I took the other half home to go. The salad wasn't anything particularly unique, just some greens, cherry tomatoes in a vinaigrette. I also got a few macarons to go. Those were nice too. Soft, fresh, very decadent. I am a bit disappointed that I haven't stopped here sooner. I'll be sure to return.

Kerry C.

Yelp
Service was good. The staff that helped me was attentive. The croissant was good but wasn't crispy like most. It was a touch soft but maybe that's because it was 10:30am and wasn't as fresh as earlier. The Americano was good. I ordered it iced but she didn't hear me so brought me a cup of ice and even offered to remake it (nice but not necessary). Small store but cute.

Yelp
Love my crepes here. And the French wine, delicious. Sit outside enjoy the people watching

Yelp
Went for a walk around the lake and wanted a coffee somewhere that offered indoor and outdoor seating options. After looking up a few options, I selected this cafe and made the short 3-4min walk from where I was at the lake. Right away, I noticed a few smaller tables outside under an awning and most having umbrellas. It was pretty hot at this point and I had worked up an appetite so I opted to sit inside and order a coffee and try a croissant. The coffee tasted pretty good, and I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk. I chose a plain croissant but asked for a side of Nutella - yum! My husband and I just came back from 3 weeks in Europe, where we definitely had our fair share of croissants and this one was just as tasty. Light, fluffy, just good! I didn't pay attention (or ask) if they make them in house, just know I appreciated them! I also ordered food to go, which took about 10-15 min or so from order to when it was ready. The cafe had picked up a bit so that was to be expected. They have a bunch of different items from pastries, to savory pastries, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, salads, etc. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich and a vanilla latte for my husband. While they forgot the vanilla, he still enjoyed it, and said the sandwich was very good as he left zero bites for me to try. All around, this place is cute, cozy, and I'll definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
Had an absolutely delightful lunch at Benjamin. Service was great and the food was beyond delicious. We were just in Paris a few months ago and Benjamin brought us right back there. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
We did a baguette taste-test today comparing La Boulangerie, Benjamin's Bakery, and the Sunday Farmer's Market baguette. Benjamin's and La Boulangerie were a tie - both great baguettes: crusty outside, soft but springy inside, both a nice golden color. (Farmers market's baguette was bad, didn't compare at all.) But Benjamin's was a better shopping experience. At La Boulangerie we felt pressure to tip: we held out cash but the cashier still made us look at the tip screen rather than saying the total verbally which felt to us like pressure to tip. At Benjamin's we didn't have this problem so felt more pleasant to buy here.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time here! We ordered the salmon quiche and the spinach quiche, a chocolate croissant, crème brûlée, and croque monsier - all very tasty! I also got a salted caramel iced coffee. Not as strong as I usually like, but everyone has their own coffee taste! It was nice and quaint on a Wednesday afternoon and they have a lot of seating, so it's a nice place to go and do work if you prefer a quiet space. Some seats are by windows, which is nice! Shoutout to Deacon, who answered a bunch of our questions patiently and was very friendly. Everything came out quickly. At the end, another gentleman came and took our plates so we could keep chatting without having them in the way. I wish I asked for his name, too. Anyways, definitely try this local business!

Yelp
Delightful pastries, terrific service. Looking forward to stopping in for a kitchen prepared breakfast sometime soon.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed the assortment of food here. They were all prepared fresh and were delicious (raspberry macaroon was my favorite). Highly recommend

Yelp
Benjamin's in a hidden staple in Thornton park. If you've never been, please do yourself a favor and give it a try. This adorable French bakery is absolutely delicious. You feel like you stepped into mini France, with the employees speaking French as well (don't worry, they speak fluent English too!). There is both indoor and outdoor seating. You place your order at the front and then they bring your food to you. Drinks - get the Fresh squeezed orange juice. I drool just thinking of it. Directly behind the front counter, you'll see a magnificent orange juice machine. You can watch as they put a handful of whole orange into the machine as it does it's magic to create the most refreshing orange juice. Doesn't get any fresher than this. Food - All of the pastries and desserts are superb, as well as the crepes. The one food option that we keep coming back for are the bacon, egg, and cheese bagels. Not necessarily the most "French" item on the menu, ha! But the way they are prepared, every bite is absolutely perfect . Highly recommend. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that nearly every time I visit Benjamin's, they are out of a few very staple menu items (like croissants or crepes). Luckily they haven't had a bagel shortage!

Yelp
We were pretty excited at trying a new place...as I usually am, but on this case, I wished I would have stick with the Devil I know! This place is in an area bustling with hippies, reggae playing from across the street and many small businesses. It's fun and has a cool vibe. But unfortunately that's the only cool thing about it! We got the spinach feta omlette, the frenchie sandwich and a bagel with cream cheese. The eggs were so eggy...like that taste that you can't continue :-( The frenchie was decent-edible...but nothing extraordinary or anything I would recommend or return to. We enjoyed sitting outside and the cool vibe of this area...kinda like key west.

Yelp
Had a confusing experience here the other morning. When you walk in there's a case of delicious looking pastries, but no signs indicating what is what, or how much anything costs. Bought a dozen macarons (also no price listed anywhere), only to get them home and find that they are stale and hard as bricks. Maybe I'll give them another shot as a coffee shop, just because I like supporting local businesses, but my experience with the pastries is a 1/5. Disappointing.

Kamayla K.

Yelp
Visiting from Atlanta and this place blows every place we have ever been to. It's an homage to french eatery and it's all perfect! We ordered the St Tropez, Bayonne, Automne Quiche, Custom Omelet, Cappuccino, and Latte. All were so delicious! I recommend this place to anyone coming through Orlando.
google avatar

Kathy K.

Yelp
A very cute place in Thornton Park. The counter service was wonderful. My spinach feta crepe with an egg could have been better. I think they use frozen spinach and the feta tasted a little funny. The crepe and egg part was great. Also good coffee.
google avatar

Chelsey S.

Yelp
Wasn't 100% what I was expecting. This was a recommendation based off our Airbnb and when we arrived it was the only place open around it. I got a basic bagel with cream cheese and it was $4.09 for cream cheese and a bagel. The lady was not wearing a mask during Covid which I thought was odd. No one greeted us at the door when we entered. Nothing special at all. My bf is to nice not to tip Update: received food and there was no salmon on the food! Uhm, what? They told us to never come back again.
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
Even delivered this sandwich was absolutely delicious! And why have I never thought to put a hard boiled egg on my sandwich before! Mind... blown... my only complaint is it was a little pricey but was worth it just based on its fresh tastiness.
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I order from Benjamin's I wish my belly had room for more. I've had great service and mouth watering food with every visit. Your choice of sweet and savory items, coffees of choice, sandwiches, salads, breakfast and lunch. A small seating area outside and inside. There are an assortment of delicious sweets eyeing you the moment you walk in. Crème brûlée, chocolate Éclairs, tarts and macaroons in various flavors. The baked items are always hard to choose from.. so why not order a few?! The croissants are the right amount of crisp and flake. You can choose plain, with Nutella, and also almond dusted with powdered sugar. Let's not forget the Tiramisu, Canneles or Napoleons... oh take me back to France.. or Thornton Park.. for more! You can drop in for a coffee and take a baguette to go. Or hang around and enjoy your food and beverage. There is limited outside seating along the sidewalk but this is my favorite spot to sit. The outside area is dog friendly and good for enjoying a great sunny day. The lunch options are just as yummy with choices of salads and sandwiches. Various quiche and of course more croissants - croque Madame. All this talks makes me want a warm croissant with Nutella now !!
google avatar

Josh L.

Yelp
The price point does not make since, $12 for an omelette with zero sides. For a croissant, 1 egg, once slice of cheese, one slice of ham $10 no sides. The food tasted good but the price point was not worth it at all.
google avatar

Byron R.

Yelp
Everything about this place is AMAZING !!!!!! The croissant sandwiches, the pastries, the orange juice phenomenal. The girl behind the counter was also super sweet and nice. We live about 3 minutes away, walking distance, and will be coming back for more. Great little breakfast/brunch spot. 10/10
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
Great location and wonderful pastries! I've been here a couple of times, and I've never been disappointed. We decided to grab a few pastries to go after our brunch outing, and I'm so glad we did :P We got chocolate croissants and the Napoleons to go. The chocolate croissants were good, but the napoleons was hands down amazing! Light and flaky puff pastry filled with a delicious pastry cream and strawberries. The décor is simple and cute. They offer indoor and a couple of small café style outdoor seating... right at the corner of Washington and Hill. A lovely small French café with friendly staff that offers great, fresh pastries, café, breakfast, and lunch. A little Thornton Park gem!

Ziqin C.

Yelp
The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy and quiet. The barista was super friendly.

Yelp
I love this neighborhood French bakery in Thornton park. I feel so lucky to be able to walk here and grab a baguette, chocolate croissant or any of their amazing sandwiches (the tuna is my favorite).
google avatar

Victoria W.

Yelp
The tart was absolutely delicious and I honestly wish I had gotten more than one! That being said the bagel wasn't anything to write home about hence the the four stars. I will say making the egg in to an omelette (bacon is cooked with the egg) is an interesting choice that I don't know how to feel about it yet
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
The crepes were amazing! My husband had the croque monsieur, and also enjoyed that. I would have given 5 stars if they used real china for dine in customers.
