I am not one to write poor reviews but our visit to Bennys was horrible. The service was slow, rude and unprofessional, our waiter actually left the restaurant after serving our drinks and could be seen shopping in the store across the parking lot! He returned 20 minutes later to get our appetizer order which took another 20 minutes to receive, against my better judgement we stayed. We placed our order and it was another 35 minutes before we received it. The Mofongo was dry and really was just OK. Never were we asked if we wanted refills or if all was well. All the hype about this restaurant is is just that, "hype" . We drove 2 hrs to eat there and consider this a waste of time. Don't waste yours.

I have been 3 times in almost 16 years. (Giving them another chance and coming back to see if there is anything better). The experience has not changed too much since 1999 at their original location. The restaurant on a Friday night was basically empty. I cannot understand the fact why I can't get a mofongo with carrucho AND pulpo. I have to pick one or the other. Staff is not very professional and knowledgable. This new location I must say is nicer than the old one. About the food ... It's OK! I'm a Puertorican that lived in PR for 26 years, so I will say that the seasoning is ok! Nothing out of this world! And to top it off ... It's on the expensive side!

I went at lunchtime 1:30 pm 2 weeks ago. I broke my rule of trying new places if they are empty unless I already know the food is good. The restaurant was nice with a fountain but empty except for another patron at the bar and my food took 30 minutes. I thought the food I had was OK. A little pricey for lunch. I had mofongo, consumme and passion fruit juice and it was nice but for almost $30. IF THEY ARE ASTUTE THEY WILL OPEN A REASONABLY PRICED LUNCH BUFFET WHICH WILL GET PEOPLE IN THE DOOR. Being a newby to PR food would have liked to try several things without breaking the bank. I will try another PR restaurant in Miami before returning here.

Waitress was really friendly and knew everything we asked but the food was terrible. Ive been to many Puertorican restaurants but this by far is the worst. It started by being empty on a Sunday!!! And it was 1pm that should just give you an idea. We ordered mofongo to go and what we got was crumbles mofongo all over a to go plate!!!! Anyhow not going back and it was pretty expensive for what we ordered.

We ordered Mofongo but dident specify what size. The waitress did not ask us what size we wanted. She gave us the more expensive large Mofongo. We were expecting the small. We were disapointed. The waitress would not appologize for the lack of communication or change the price on our check. We felt like the waitress tricked us on purpose. I would recommend the Rinconcito Latino Boricua "Casa de Mofongo" in Hialeah.

This place is by far my favorite Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant in the area. The mofongo is delicious, appetizers are incredible, the sangria is sweet and flavorful... give it a shot. It is truly good! Hey! te lo dice un boricua ;)

Staff was being rude food was mediocre (based on food I ate in PR when I lived there) air conditioner wasn't on for some reason. everyone at our table was sweaty and gave us attitude when we asked to lower temperature when came time to pay we asked them to separate the bill for us and he abruptly said no and gave us a calculator and told us to do it on our own WILL NEVER COME HERE OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!
