We fell in love with this place for its friendly staff and generous portions but these past orders we have gotten have been disappointing. Their quality isnt as good as it used to be. The amount of cream cheese is much less than they used to. Today I ordered 2 everything bagels, EXTRA cream cheese, bacon and tomato. Was a bit surprised to pay 28 bucks for 2 bagels only to find out there was lox in both bagels.

Horrible bacon egg and cheese barely anything the sandwich was hard and dry it looks like they fried one egg and two turkey bacon strips the bagel was ordered scooped and it’s stale and hard. Worst bacon egg and cheese on a bagel I ever had . Mine you I do t even think chesse was put in this sandwich . The picture is a picture of the food after just wrapping it I don’t take a bite or even pick sandwich apart I’ll never order from here again

Omg, really good Bagel. The staff very kind, the service is fast, the coffee is good I highly recommend this place for a breakfast. I got egg, bacon and cheese bagel and it was great.

Forget traveling to NYC for bagels. This Olive Cream Cheese Bagel is so good, it officially canceled my reason to go there.

The busyness with the line of customers waiting for food is worth it to come back each time. My go-to breakfsst is egg salad, lettuce, less mayonnaise on a roll. A good portion is given. the cut in half is much appreciated. Service is fast, efficient, and always friendly when we are next. No matter how busy they get, we don't find ourselves waiting too long. Each staff member is responsible for the specific order until ready and served. The atmosphere is comfortable and reminds me of walking into your kitchen at home. Decor is fun and coordinates with the current holiday. All payments are accepted, and the parking lot is available. Continue working hard, Ben's Bagel Barn staff . It's always good to know where to go for breakfast.

We came here 2 days in a row. Busy little place but staff was super friendly. My husband loved the pancakes and was surprised for "a bagel place". Bagels were yummy.

Their bagels are okay. But their Kaiser rolls are the best. So fluffy yet crusty. Best I ever had. So fresh and yummy, my egg sandwich was gone in no time!! They have many different sandwich items and their service is quick. I highly recommend their Kaiser roll sandwich.

Place was hopping during my visit but the staff were moving orders out quickly. This is not a place you would bring your date to for a candle light dinner but they do have 4 tables for anyone wanting to dine in. I did notice that most people were grabbing food to go. Ladies behind the counter were super cool and helpful. Lastly, let’s talk about the prices. Bagels were $1. This shop should get an extra star for keeping food affordable for the surrounding community and those of us who travel the country in search for a great bite. GREAT JOB GUYS!!

Delicious breakfast sandwiches prepared hot and fresh. Got the Taylor ham, egg, cheese sandos 1 on everything bagel 1 on Kaiser roll The ham egg cheese piping hot inside was very nice and comforting. Kaiser roll was easier to bite into and delicious, but I ended up preferring it on everything bagel that gave the added salty bites from the everything part lol. First time tourist and wasn't sure on condiments they put on, ketchup & mayo? I went mayo only since ketchup sounded a bit weird. But at checkout, the sweet ladies verified and I asked if good with ketchup and seems like thats what most folks get so got the bagel one with ketchup and mayo. Definitely tasted better with both ketchup and mayo:) Also got a bagel with plain cream cheese. The bagel was fine but the cream cheese had some vanilla taste to it which I didnt like vs the typical plain cc. Not sure if there was a miss or that's what the plain cc tastes like here. Either way I would stick with the freshly prepared breakfast sandwich. Maybe bacon egg cheese sounds better, but wanted to try Taylor ham that many reviews mentioned lol. Maybe even just egg and cheese would be great? since the main goodness came from the fresh hot egg and melting cheese I believe.

Nice small bagel shop near Meadowlands Sports Complex to grab some bagels and coffee. Friendly staff they also have some nice lunch specials on hand for those interested, haven't tried but price is very reasonable. Also decent size parking lot by the entrance to the shop.

They washed the floors. They replaced the rugs. They may have painted as well. I felt much better being a customer there as I had not been back since my first review. Again, inexpensive, workers are friendly/nice. Didn't get anything special, just an onion bagel with veg cream cheese, and it was good. Also had a coffee - I think it was flavored banana nut bread - delicious. So I've upgraded my review. I would recommend and I will return.

Ben's Bagel Barn is my go-to for breakfast and the weekly bagels. The store is always busy and the hard working staff turns orders around quickly. There is plenty of parking and there is indoor seating available. Aside from bagels, Ben's also has a vast selection of lunch and sweet tooth items. Please, give Ben's Bagel Barn a try. They'll treat you right and you'll leave with happy food.

Their menu will drive your taste buds insane because you don't know what to order. The food is so good & made fresh. The staff is super friendly, you can also sit down, plenty of seating. It's a place in town where you know the food is good. Lunch time gets crowded, but worth it. There is parking. The prices are decent, lunch specials are the way to go. Free soda with. I visited Little Ferry this week and my family recommended me this place. This is the 2nd time I came to this place already. I love their special #8 (thin sliced with fresh mozzarella and toasted garlic Portugese rolls and onion) in along with other breakfast items. Not only their food is delicious, and I love seeing how family-orientated they are as a family is important to me personally. The representative that assisted me, I believe she may be the owner, did not show any awkwardness when I informed her that I am a Deaf individual, and that put it to ease for me to communicate through my mobile phone. The shop is small and is on the corner of an intersection which is easy to find and the parking lot has up to approximately 15 spots, so it shouldn't be an issue to park. The atmosphere there is calm and quiet and can tell a lot of people goes there often which, I believe, says a lot. Overall, I have had a positive experience and this place earned my business in the future. If you are in the area, this place will not disappoint you. #SupportSmallBusiness

Simply put never visit this dump...the bagel box around the corner is much better all around

I needed a place to pick up some brekkie sammies early Saturday morning and that's when I found Ben's Bagel Barn and it was reasonably priced. I called ahead to order 5 items at around 6:15 and they quoted a wait time of about 20 minutes. I arrived half an hour later and the order wasn't quite ready yet but they were surprisingly busy at that time. I ordered a sausage and cheese on an everything bagel for myself and to my surprise, it had two sausage patties in it. I guess it was because I opted out of the egg. It was very filling and I couldn't even finish the whole sandwich in one setting. I also ordered a side of hash browns, which was a complete jip. It was just an overly fried and oily hash brown patty - the ones you can get in the supermarket and it cost $3. I could go and buy a whole pack for less than that. I won't be ordering this again but will definitely come back for more bagels and to try their lunch sandwiches.

Staff friendly, quick, efficient. Bagels are delicious. I recommend the ham, egg, Swiss on everything bagel with ketchup and pepper.

Hey, what can I say? Cool name, decent bagels and friendly staff that is pleasant and efficient. No matter how crowded they always keep things moving. I plan on going back and trying some non bagel items, looks like they have an impressive sandwich list and other items.

Local spot by my house that I've never been to and said to myself today is the day I'll try it. I got the #11 on the lunch sandwich menu for $7.99 not including tax. Honestly it's not bad at all. The #11 is grilled chicken, mozzarella, roasted red peppers and balsamic. Just bit into it and must say they give a good amount of chicken that is well seasoned, marinated and not dry at all. Is this a destination place to travel for to have this sandwich? No. But it's still a good local spot and would come again and you should too. What makes the price even better is the value. You get a good sized sandwich with a little side of potato salad or cole slaw and a can soda, water or coffee with the order. What a nice lunch special deal especially compared to that overpriced crap place in Little Ferry called Bagel Box (see my review of that place if curious) that place is a rip off. Don't go there. I still need to try their breakfast because I think that's what they're known for more. I'm sure it'll be good. Will update when I do. You're welcome Yelp and remember be nice to each other. The employees are great, friendly, hardworking, usually fast and reliable. I was totally forgotten once recently but these things happen. The woman who apparently is the owner however could be a bit friendlier. Today she didn't even look at me when I paid (she seems to be the only one allowed to touch the cash register) much less thank me or give any response when I thanked her. At that point I was at the end of a wave of customers so it's not even like they were in the heat of busyness. I always tip when I'm there, smile and am a patient person. Yet treated as if I'm not there. I'll be back I'm sure but will consider other options I'm sure as well. Im just a week end customer and their bagels are really good, and I'm from Queens/Long Island so know.

I have been coming here for years whenever I'm in the area. Their food is consistently fresh and delicious, the shop is clean, and the staff is always friendly and very pleasant. My favorite item is the Taylor ham, egg and cheese on an everything bagel, especially when I get a fresh/warm bagel. Definitely worth the stop, I highly recommend.

We are from out of town and always make a point to stop by here when we are visiting our friends. This place is always busy, and the staff is friendly and efficient. The bagels + cream cheese are amazing. This is a great spot! Ordered a sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese today and it was lovely. Will be back!

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever had my whole entire life that lady called me back and said listen listen who speaks to their customers like that she does. Completely unacceptable and inappropriate behavior by those workers

New to the area. Have had their breakfast a couple of times and they don't disappoint but the only thing thing I did not like was after waiting in line to pick up my preordered breakfast having a guy that was behind me be taken care of before i got to the counter. Not cool....

I love this place. I've been coming for years. Every time I visit I come here for a great bagel. They have a large variety of fresh baked jersey bagels! I love to get their breakfast sandwiches as well with egg and cheese. Some of my favorite bagels are the rainbow, the cinnamon, the onion, and the multigrain bagel. They toast it and put an ample amount of cream cheese on it. Their cream cheese is very delicious and is always fresh. It's a great Mom and Pop place, well run, and the customer service is great. They also have hot teas and coffee. Come here for great bagels!

I remember when Ben's Bagel Barn opened when I was kid. And I have been going ever since. Great bagels, even for Jersey standards! That said, it's always a go-to special treat for family and friends visiting from out of state. A real local treasure!

Some workers are rude with customers. Specially, when you stand online for long time, they treat you like you are asking for a favor or a Charity from them. Try to give a comment about their service, the big guy there will kick you out.

Man! The attitude of the workers here... Every time I walk in this place I feel like my presence is annoying them. The only problem is there is not another decent bagel place close. What's someone to do? Go here and annoy the middle aged women that work here and order a bagel or drive to a nearby town and order a bagel?? I even tip these women every time I come hoping that will change their demeanor but that doesn't help. Additionally, I try to be extra nice thanking them profusely. That also doesn't help. Usually when I arrive at bens bagel barn the women behind the counter are deep conversing in town gossip either with each other or another customer and make me wait a minute or two before they take my order. What a bother I must be to these people! Please someone, anyone, open up a competing bagel place close so I don't have to indulge my bagel desires here. The only reason I am giving bens bagel barn two stars is because the bagels are good. If you are a glutton for punishment, and being treated poorly, or alternatively, you are too lazy to drive to a neighboring town (like myself) I welcome you to try this on par bagel place. Also they only accept cash. Wonder why they do that?

We come here every Sunday to get a bagel. We normally get the pastrami, egg, and cheese sandwich with hash brown in a bagel and it is delicious. The staff are really nice and they are really fast making the orders.

This review is solely on the bagels. So I thought Magic Bagels in Valley Stream, NY was the best bagel shop ever and no one could tell me different, until I came to Bagel Barn. OMG the bagels are delicious. Warm and toasted to perfection. I've been obsessed and typically will only come on Mondays when I'm traveling back to NY for work. I'm scared when I eventually move to jersey that this will be my daily stop.

The bagels and sandwiches are out of this world good. BUT I DO agree--the service is absolutely atrocious. Why in the hell are they always so miserable? One-two workers there (guys) are the only ones who smile or greet you. CASH ONLY (that's how you run a business, my friends) so yeah, I love this place for their products, NOT so much the service. In fact, I am picking up fresh bagels from them tomorrow morning for my office on my way to work! Let's see what these guys will think.

I understand the1st reviewer but I can never be harsh to a bagel bar that opens as early as 5:30 am. I get bagel with susage & eggs or ham & eggs for $3.10 and never got disappointed. They also serve home fries, soup, pancake, sandwiches and coffee. It gets busy in the morning and you can see even non locals come out of their way to get the bagels here.

Love this place. Tried others in the area and they just don't compare. This place has more options, the bagels are fluffier with more toppings and the price differences are within 10 cents of other places. Some tips: It's cash only and if you go during peak times they are swamped and rushing so don't expect a conversation from them. Also, reading some previous reviews, they DO wear gloves while handling your food.

Fresh delicious bagels. The best egg sandwich that I've had in a long time. Why have I never stopped here on previous visits to Little Ferry?! I don't know why, but today I did and am so happy ! Ordered 2 sandwiches, both on toasted bagels (onion and sesame) with fried eggs and swiss cheese. The bagels had a great flavor and were fresh and the eggs fried just perfectly ( not so hard there is no yolk; just enough yolk so that the sandwich was not dripping) Friendly staff, quick service. Definitely will make this my stopping point whenever I am in Little Ferry.

We've been hitting up Ben's quite a bit on weekends as we are moving to the area and working on our new place. I don't know if it is coincidence or they've been reading yelp. No more are they touching food then money, money then food. They are putting gloves on and taking them off. Also, the grill men are using the ENTIRE GRILL, it brought a tear to my eye. I've had no problem with the food in Ben's WITH THE EXCEPTION of the pancakes, we decided to try them this weekend, they need to revamp their pancake mix. Pancakes were very thin & had the bad aftertaste of baking soda (or powder). Use the internet guys, make your own mix, there are 1000s of recipes out there, you can make an insane pancake w/ a little investigation on the net. Other than that, love their coffee & egg sandwiches. Glad i'm moving less than 1/2 mi away.

There are bagel stores and then there is Bens. I came all the way from New York City to have this bagel. I order a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese and it was a 10 out of 10. The workers were also unbelievably kind.

First time there... taste great but the only negative part is they don't wear a mask and the money and food is touched with the same gloves. I didn't want to make a fuss.

Ben's is around the corner from my home they have always been busy but the food has always been very good and fresh. In last few months the wait is exhausting and the orders are wrong if they haven't forgotten you even when you are the only one standing after a busy rush, and no asks what did you order. I don't look to bash them but maybe they will take notice and be more attentive.

I don't go here for the service, I come for the bagels and I love them. Need a Ben's breakfast sandwich whenever I'm in town. Back in NJ next month and I'll have a bagel and coffee here each morning.

Sour cream cheese.... not cool. I got 3 bagels with cream cheese all sour. Ive been here before and never had this problem but not happy.

Ben's has the biggest, baddest and BEST bagels in the area. Even have the best breakfast sandwiches, platters and more. You also can't go wrong with their incredible lunches. For a breakfast joint, they do lunch the right way! No matter what, from breakfast to lunch, this place takes care of you when it comes to a meal that hits the spot but won't hit you over the head with price. PS: Wendy's empanadas taste better than hitting the lottery! TRY THEM!

Definitely horrible customer service. I'm guessing if you're not a regular you get treated like you aren't welcomed here. Food is mediocre at its best. Don't waste your time or money!

Absolutely the best bagels I've had. They are fluffy, toasted to perfection and warm every time. I've tried so many other bagel shops but non of them come close to this one.

The bagels are good here (which is why they got two stars from me), however, I do not like the way they switch back and forth between preparing your bagel bare-handed, to handling the money, to going back to preparing the bagels bare-handed. I'd feel better if they wore gloves when handling one or the other. Several friends of mine no longer go here for that very reason. I have since joined their ranks.

Not sure why this place was my favorite in the past. Breakfast sandwiches are above average.

LAZY SUNDAY: So it's Sunday, I walk in at approximate 12:46pm. I grab a drink, finish my phone call, and walk over to place my order (12:49pm)... The guy tells me, sorry grill closes at 1pm. I quickly look at my phone as he says that's in 5 minute... I said, it's 12:50pm. I just found it odd that with a whole 10 minutes, they couldn't make me and my wife a sausage, egg, and cheese on a roll. I would understand if there was 5 minutes left... but 10 minutes seems like that should've been the cut off. Sorry, that was wrong... I had to settle with bagels, which were and are always good. On the plus side: They got an ATM machine now: Remember, cash only! *YELP: Only the rating for your most recent review counts towards the business' average rating.*

Bagels are real good Croissants even better, Cash only,,,,, real bad,,,, The owner should fix his/her credit. The service sometimes great, sometimes the worst.. The owner should avoid topics like politics, religion and subject that people take a strong stand. You're selling bagels you're not on the View.

I am currently a Little Ferry local and Ben's Bagel Barn has saved me many times with their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches when I woke up not feeling so well on a Saturday morning :D There are a lot of complaints about wait times which I noticed as well. Nowadays, I call my order in then pick it up... saves lots of time! I have ordered many breakfast sandwiches and bagels from here. Only downfall is that they are cash only.

I called in an order and was placed on hold for about 5 minutes where I could hear the people working. I got tired of holding so I hung up and called again and they took my order immediately. I guess they forgot about me. I had an order for like $30 and apparently this place doesn't take credit card. So, I had to use the ATM. I don't understand why this place can't just accept cards instead of passing the cost to the consumer. To me, that screams of cheapness and cutting corners. Not a good sign coming from someone handling my food. Then, once you get to the place the line is kind of a free for all. The women behind the counter just kind of sit there looking pissed off while everyone jostles for position every which way attempting to get their attention. The food was decent enough. I got Taylor Ham, egg and cheese on a Portuguese roll. It was nothing special, but did the job. I'll give the food 3 stars but the other factors drop it down to a 1. The cash only thing really boggles my mind as it's 2015. The food itself doesn't warrant a return visit when you consider the hassle of ordering and the payment options are limited. Breakfast places like these are a dime a dozen and on a hungover Sunday, I'm just looking for convenience.

***CASH ONLY*** It would be nice if prices were listed next to the menu items on their chalkboard. It would also be nice if they could sell small cartons of orange juice or milk instead of 20 oz bottles. This is a local's spot so parking may be an issue on the weekends or weekday mornings. They do offer good breakfast specials and prices are posted. They also offer about a dozen varieties of bagels. The bagels are decent. A little smaller than Goldberg's on 17 in Hasbrouck Heights and not as delicious. I'd put them in the same class as Essex Bagels in Hackensack though. Now if they could just update that menu board...
