We stayed here for 1 afternoon and evening between backpacking trips and it was perfect for our family. We choose the 1-bedroom apartment, which had a full kitchen and let us spread out and repack for the next adventure. Laundry facilities were easy and reasonably priced; the staff was really kind. Cindy, the manager, is top-notch and we really valued all of her advice. She was very helpful with local directions and when we needed to borrow a measuring cup for some backpacking food. :) The location was close to everything that we needed, including a local grocery and the REI. I would definitely stay here again.

This hostel is more of a private hostel in comparison with some of the more social ones. Located a short walk away from shops and restaurants, and the area itself is pretty quiet. For what this hostel makes up in space for some of its rooms, it lacks in some areas of communication. The check-in process was confusing for me, having chosen a time to check-in but then told that all check-ins are not until later in the afternoon. The staff were generally nice, though. The place was clean and quiet, though, and a good place for a night's sleep or two.

Extremely comfortable bed, HOT WATER on demand!, large , new shower, toilet, tub. Heat, stocked kitchen, large clean fridge. Way more than I expected. Best hostel I've seen, and the price is even better. Just remember?, people are different everywhere you go!. Be safe and enjoy your stay. Great place!!!!!!!.

This was a nice place to stay. The area is quite but close to shopping and dinning. The room was good, they have done some remodeling and these are comfortable. The staff is nice and helpful. The kitchen has the basic necessities including a microwave and full size fridge. I would stay here again.

We were moved here after we had a situation in the downtown location and could not have been happier. Even though this location is not downtown, there is so much within walking distance. And the check in and out process was amazing. John was super helpful and gave many recommendations. The rooms were much cleaner and much larger than the downtown location. This was more like an actual hotel than the downtown one. Definitely recommend this location! Fast internet and cable TV with multiple channels

This was a fantastic hostel experience. As other reviewers have noted, John the manager is really exceptional. He really makes the trip; he even offerred to drive me to a park that I was unable to access by public transportation. I mean nothing negative by my "Good Facilities" review, just that this is an inexpensive hostel so I don't want people to have unrealistic expectations. They have everything you need, though, and I had a safe and lovely time.

John and Cindy were very attentive. They were a wealth of information about the area and towns around. The accommodations were comfortable. We were pleasantly pleased by the fresh apples, bananas, muffins, and supplies in the refrigerator. Since we had spent 16 hours getting to Alaska and it was late when we arrived, we were made to feel at home. The linens were fresh. The Inn was quiet. Great introduction to friendliness of Alaska. Many thanks to y'all.

Google
Great hostel! So much cheaper than everything else in Anchorage. The rooms have their own kitchenette and living room space and bathroom plus there are only 4 beds (very comfy mattresses) per room so you aren't sharing that space with many people. Will definitely stay here again if I return to the city, and will recommend it to anyone I know who is visiting. I would however advise anyone staying to have a car as getting around without one would be more challenging from here.

Yelp
one of the best hostiles I stayed at, very clean, active manager seeking fairness for all not just a few, choice of semi private Motel type rooms if you want a better than shared room stay. In addition , I am certain that the Managers John and helper Cindy's due diligence in active screening of those who stay and instant involvement in any questionable or bad activity that occurs. the bad- they are partial to an odd pattern, I saw some homeless drunk and hypes get really good treatment while a few sober working people got close to rude abrupt treatment while they were being more than kind to the proprietor. I got stand off ish treatment although I tried to be genuinely friendly as they seemed like good people, 2 different people I saw down the road that were guest when I was said the managers said bad unkind untrue things of me behind my back, they both told me without my asking, and I believe them as, they were not associated with one another, they were honest as I knew them, it explains a lot about what I experienced there. And my treatment when I returned. Despite this, If I needed a low price bed, I would Probably go here before anywhere else, I do know of ONE better low price place though, on Fire weed

Yelp
I stayed at Bent Prop Inn in March 2017 before head into Denali area. Felt so home and convenient to have kitchen. Owner John was so helpful in many ways to make your stay comfortable. He picked us up from airport and drove us around wherever you need to go. Very nice restaurants nearby which is walking distance. Room is warm and shower is hot and free wifi. Room has beautiful sunrise view over the mountains. I will definitely will comeback.

Yelp
Stayed at the Bent Prop Midtown in June, a busy season. Expedia messed up during the reservation process and the manager of the Bent Prop bent over backwards to make things right. Unparalleled service, friendly and great to talk to. We had a great room that was a suite including a nice full kitchen and living room. Everything clean and some nice surprises including good breakfast stuff in the fridge. This base really enhanced our trip.

Yelp
Location, location, location. One block from bus stop. Two blocks from Walmart supercenter. If you are out for an adventure, or looking for a job, this is the place to call home when you are in Anchorage. Great staff, kitchen, and computers. Clean rooms and common areas.

Yelp
I went to Anchorage for Christmas in 2015. I Had a great time and the managers Cindy and Jon were amazingly welcoming and kind. I was expecting for that since the place is well reviewed in TripAdvisor and booking.com. As a solo traveler I was looking for good price and safety. They helped me save money taking me to the wild life reserve and even to see the northern lights at night. They gave me rides every time I needed. The rooms are small apartments with living room( TV and cable!), well equipped kitchen, the shower was also great ( good pressure and water temperature), bed comfortable and clean. The location is also very good, close to bus stations, Walmart, restaurants and shops. The hostel also has a shuttle service, check with Cindy or Jon for availability. I arrived very early in te morning and Al picked me up, very nice man as well. I highly recommend Bent and prop in for families and solo travelers as well, you will definitely have a good experience for little money.

Yelp
Stayed at the Bent Prop- Midtown in July. As a small group, we shared a suite which included a bedroom with two bunk beds, a bathroom and a kitchen/sitting area. Not a fancy hotel, but room was affordable and clean, mattresses were comfortable. Managers were outstanding. Friendly, helpful, went out of their way to accommodate us, and even gave us a ride downtown. Above and beyond! ..and did I mention the lemon blueberry pancakes they serve on Sundays?

Yelp
I have never stayed anywhere as terrible as this place. I have slept in cars, on buses, in parks, in jail, on floors and in boiler rooms that were all more sanitary and more comfortable than the beds which were afforded me and my girlfriend here. The staff here are the rudest, least helpful, most arrogant scumbags I have ever met. I stayed here a week ago and I still can't get over how badly I was treated. I am begging everyone who reads this to stay away from this sexist, disgusting and horrible establishment at all costs. I would give negative stars if I could.
