An 8-day Sailing Trip to This Part of the Caribbean Became My Family's Most Adventurous Trip Yet

"Visited this second-largest island in the Grenadines as a scheduled stop during an open-ocean charter; the trip included time ashore at one of the island’s nicest beaches and formed part of an itinerary designed to push beyond line-of-sight sailing into true open-ocean conditions suitable for experienced families." - David LaHuta David LaHuta David LaHuta is a Bermuda-based travel journalist, TV host, and the author of “Frommer’s Bermuda.” He’s visited more than 60 countries, appears on networks including the Travel Channel and CNN, and regularly contributes to The New York Times, Travel + Leisure, and Afar. Very lovely island. Restaurants close by to grab a meal or you can walk with or make your own

I fell in love with this island. Beautiful views, beaches and people. Everybody is so friendly and helpful to us tourists. I would love to visit again and see some of the other Grenadines islands. A wonderful hidden gem.

Great and friendly island. Hopefully nobody ever finds out about it and ruins its beauty.

Island life at its best. The atmosphere or aura of the island is tranquil. Beautiful view, great places to eat and chill. Many options to choose from. Food, beach, hotels are with Relatively good prices. Sightseeing galore that leaves you in awe everytime. Great place to reboost and refresh yourself after a long week of work. Only 1 hr or so from the mainland St.Vincent by ferry.

This was our first time in the Grenadines. We visited for a day - one of the ports Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas November 2022. We took a catamaran shore excursion and it took us to Bequia. We passed by the famous seaside filming location of the Pirates of the Caribbean, a stop at Princess Margaret Beach and but of local shopping at Port Elizabeth. At Port Elizabeth, you must pass by and grab a bite of pizza at Aaron's Pizza Hut. BEST PIZZA IN THE CARIBBEAN. Really.

If I ever return to SVG (which I hope I do) I will definitely be staying in Bequia. Huge fan of this island!

The beach at Lower Bay is enchanting—much better than the touristy Princess Margaret Beach.
