The 17 Best Restaurants In London Bridge

"Berenjak is a loud, busy Persian restaurant by Borough Market where walk-ins are turned away with a polite, “Tonight? It’ll be a couple of hours”. People jostle over lamb rump kebabs and squeeze into seats next to open cabinets stuffed with glassware. But the best seats are at the counter where you can watch bread get tossed on the grill in front of you. Although the bill can quickly stack up, the best dishes aren’t the pricier, showy platters of meat. They’re baked flatbreads, which should be dipped in tangy mast o musir and smoky mirza ghasemi." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak, jake missing, daisy meager, heidi lauth beasley

The 19 Best Vegetarian Restaurants In London

"Berenjak serves Iranian mazeh and kebabs in a corridor-like space on Romilly Street. Order the taftoon—clay tanoor-baked flatbread—and swipe through coal-cooked aubergine dips, goats’ curd with Persian shallots, and black chickpea hummus. The kebab section of the menu is a no-go for vegetarians, but the snackable corn on the cob and pickled cauliflower means there’s plenty to pick from in the sofreh section. " - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, jake missing

Berenjak Borough Review - London Bridge - London - The Infatuation

"Berenjak is a loud, busy Persian restaurant by Borough Market where walk-ins are turned away with a polite, “Tonight? It’ll be a couple of hours.” The space is crammed with people jostling over lamb rump kebabs, squeezing into seats next to open cabinets stuffed with glassware, and most of the exposed brick walls are covered with artworks. The best seats are at the counter where you can enjoy the buzzy atmosphere and watch bread get tossed on the grill in front of you. In short, don’t expect a quiet night at Berenjak. It’s for times when you want a sensory overload and strong negronis. Although the bill can quickly stack up, the best dishes aren’t the pricier, showy platters of meat, they’re the baked flatbreads for dipping in tangy mast o musir and smoky mirza ghasemi. Berenjak doesn’t need any more praise then gets, but I’ll chime in here as well. The space is beautiful especially with the new extension! The food is absolutely amazing, the Hummus, the Chicken salad, the dips, and the chicken and lamb are all amazing, nothing was bad. Some of the chicken felt a bit hard to chew on in the center, probably need a minute or two more cooking but overall excellent! There was no ice cream unfortunately as machine was broken, but overall excellent experience. I recommend you take the 55 pp set platter. Ah yes, the bread was amazing as usual! Very hard to get a reservation, booked a month ahead!

Highly delicious. If you are looking for amazing Middle Eastern food, this is the place to come. All the food we had was delicious and the portions were extremely generous (you could probably get away with one portion between two people). The Bulgarian paneer that came with one of the starter salads was a revelation. Highly highly recommended to come check this place out!

Everything was phenomenal! The hummus and Kebab were the highlight but everything else was also amazing! It’s a descent Persian food experience and somehow on the expensive side of budget but your taste buds will have so much fun! Definitely book in advance but if you pass through the market give it a go and ask for any availability.

Food was good but not amazing. If this is your first time trying Iranian food then it is a good option, otherwise you might think this is very standard and hyped up (especially for how long you have to wait for a table if you didn’t book in advance) Service inside the restaurant was good too. Waitrose are very attentive and helpful. I’ve given 3/5 as we weren’t really explained the three different menus we were provided with so slightly confusing. Also, as mentioned before the waiting times are crazy ranging from 1 hour to over 3 hours, which don’t in my personal opinion is worth it. However, overall staff are polite and approachable, you can’t really fault them. Atmosphere: if you are claustrophobic like me then this is definitely not the best place for you. It feels crammed and you sitting so close to other people. I even struggled to find a place for my handbag and jacket so you get the picture.

This is in my top 5 places to visit in London! The service was amazing, the food was delicious- a 10/10! The interior is cosy and architecturally beautiful with well cultured decor which is nice to see of a place that is proud of its culture, heritage and identity. The food was fresh, flavourful and juicy. I would recommend getting the lunch set menu with additional items from the main menu. The chicken wings were the best we’ve had in such a long time. The rice warm and fluffy, the hummus was so different to any other hummus we’ve had (which is a good thing!). The yoghurt dip was to die for. The chicken kebab was so juicy and still glistening throughout the whole meal. And the lamb kebab, in particularly the lamb rump - worth the money! Honestly one of the juiciest pieces of lamb ever. The breads were fresh and warm, one of the best we have had! The potatoes were so crispy! And the dessert, the baklava with ice cream… a show stopper. Honestly such amazing food, with such a friendly team. And it’s such a plus when all the food is halal! This meal was perfect.

Some of the most flavorful meats I’ve had amongst middle eastern cuisines. The highlight was the chicken and lamb stew for which I would say are the go tos for meat lovers! The sourdough bread was immaculate! We were in a bit of rush and the stuff couldn’t have been more accommodating to facilitate our exit.

Their set menu is very good and everything was delicious. We sat at the counter and could see all the chefs cooking. Taftoon bread was delicious, hummus was interesting, poussin kebab also great. Also it is quite expensive but the portion sizes are actually massive so it felt worth the money.

No words. This place is amazing and you have to eat here if you come to London. The food was incredible (especially the black bean hummus). We sat at the bar and so we were able to see the chefs at work. We had the £35 lunch deal which was such good value for money. Service was so so good as well. 1000% recommend!
