For an unforgettable lunch in the Alps, Berggasthaus in Grindelwald is exceptional. The food was extraordinary, and the house wine perfectly complemented the meal. Considering the quality and the breathtaking, impeccable mountain view, the price–quality ratio is absolutely worth it. A special thank you to Ruxi, who was incredibly friendly, took time to talk with us, and gave excellent recommendations. Thanks to her, we tried the Swiss cheese fondue — and it was wow, truly superior to anything you can find in town or nearby. The entire staff was very kind and always available, making our lunch a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Its a snow day. Looks beautiful. Restaurant was full but we got a place. Food was tasty. Great service and food arrived quickly. Very nice people. Go and enjoy 😉

My only regret about visiting this place is that I didn’t realize there was a hotel up here. Staying overnight with these views? That’s the dream. Right after you finish the famous “first walk,” there’s this restaurant waiting for you. And wow—the view is just unreal. You’re sitting right there in the middle of the Swiss Alps, with peaks everywhere you look. I went for the beef stew and it was the perfect choice—super fresh, tender, and just what you want after walking around in the mountain air. And yes, they’ve got beer! Honestly, sitting outside with a drink and that scenery… it’s one of those moments you just don’t forget. If you’re heading up this way, definitely plan to eat here. And maybe look into the hotel option—because trust me, you’re going to want to stay longer.

We didnot stayed at hotel we just had lunch here, and our dear Lara arranged a lovely table for us despite the crowd – a very elegant table in the corner – and helped us choose our food. We had the Bio Angus Burger and Tranchierte Pouletbrust, both were delicious, thanks to Lara and her kindness she was very helpful and would also like to give a special thank you to Julian; his hospitality, his smiling face, and his love for Turks made us very happy. Wife and me stayed a night in room 8 and it was really great. The staff is super friendly and helpful - going the extra mile without us even asking. The public and hotel bathrooms are super clean and well maintained. Same with our hotel room. The bed was extremely comfortable with the best duvets we ever slept under. Guest WIFI is free. 5G coverage excellent. They have a heated pic-nic room if you don't want to spend money in their restaurant with a water fountain nearby - all for free. Dinner menu - which was included in the night stay - was excellent. You could see that the cook had fun bringing a bit of variety and finesse to an otherwise rather simple but good meal. Only minor critique would be to not salt the pasta for the Aelpler Makronen at all. I'm aware that the bacon is very salty and it's true that the pasta then should be less salted. But cooking them without any salt at all was not really to our taste. Otherwise it was great. Breakfast buffet is solid with tons of croissants, good bread and enough variety. Having a good coffee machine there was a welcome bonus. For the price it's really great and you'll wake up 5 meters from the ski slope - ready to go. 10/10.

Quite a nice place to stay out of the -3°C cold with some expensive food supplies displayed in the self serve section. Sit outside during Dec or Jan and enjoy the great snowy view and also freeze.

This restaurant is amazing! It was the best burger I’ve ever had. Their sauce is out of this world. Also, Ruxi was the most amazing serve giving us the best experience possible here. Thank you very much for everything Roxandra!

I am rating the food from the restaurant as I didn’t stay there. I ordered the goulash soup and an extra hot latte (I remarked this last thing to the waiter twice) Soup Portion size was a bit small for the price ( I know it’s Switzerland, but still) and the coffee was cold. At the end you paid for the amazing view but food was not great in flavour either
