I hiked from the town of Zermatt up toward the Trift Hut. Along the way it was quiet, the scenery was magnificent, and I felt truly happy being surrounded by such peaceful nature. The trail is quite steep, so it does require some stamina, but I made the climb while taking breaks along the way.

We hiked from Zermatt - just under 2 hours, up to the Edelweiss and carry on. The ice tea is everything you could hope for after a decent hike and the apple pie was a) large b) tasted completely fresh. It gave us energy to power on. The owner was very nice, greeting us personally and having a chat with everyone. Unfortunately it was too early for our lunch, but the rösti looked amazing - so much better than one we’d had the day before at a much bigger hut. Prices are very reasonable, considering everything is flown in by helicopter. The hike has some slightly challenging parts but the views are completely amazing. Would 100% recommend a hike here if you are in Zermatt. You will get a feel for the true Switzerland.

Didn’t stay but bopped up for a snack. Proprietors were super friendly, and the apple cake and homemade iced tea were divine.

We hiked here for lunch. It was well worth the hike, we saw multiple Chamois, Ibex, edelweiss on the trail to the hotel. The views are unbeatable. The owner was very nice and helped us see Chamois in the telescope. For lunch we had Rösti with egg and bacon and bratwurst. Their homemade iced tea is so refreshing after a challenging hike. We'd love to stay here in the future!

An unforgettable experience. The hike presented amazing views and was a bit strenuous but worth the efforts. The accommodations were clean and the food was tasty. The staff was accommodating and friendly.

This was a great find after a fairly challenging, yet magnificent, hike up. The iced tea is a good as everyone says and the owner is gregarious and helpful. We had the best rosti of our trip up here and the apple pie was delicious. While we turned around and hiked home after lunch, it certainly seems like a popular stopover for hikers and we would love to return to stay over and hike onward next time!

The fresh apple cake and home-made lemonade were amazing!! However, be sure to bring enough water with you for the hike, as there is no fresh clean, drinking water available. Bottled water was available at AU$25 (13 Fra) per 1.5L
