BERGWELT GRINDELWALD | ALPINE DESIGN RESORT

We had a wonderful long weekend at Bergwelt Grindelwald Alpine Design Resort with our family and can highly recommend it. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive. A special thank-you to Renika for organizing an unforgettable birthday surprise for my wife, including a delicious cake, beautiful room decorations, and a sublime “Diamonds Forever” massage at the spa. Everything was perfectly arranged and made our stay extra special. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The spa and pool were fantastic—especially appreciated after a day on the slopes. The restaurant truly exceeded our expectations: both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, with excellent quality and variety. The location is ideal, with easy access to the slopes—perfect for a family ski trip. An excellent hotel in a magical winter setting. We’ll definitely be back!

Mountain Beauty Paired with Impeccable Hospitality Wow, wow, wow. From the minute we arrived, we were so well cared for with truly exceptional customer service. From the entrance to the hotel, to the lobby, to the room itself—it was absolutely stunning. From every window, we were met with mountains and breathtaking beauty. Anything we needed was handled with great attention and grace—dinner reservations, thoughtful suggestions for our day’s adventures, and seamless van transfers filled with wonderful conversation and care from Tomas and Pedro. Iris in the spa was delightful, and Oksana always seemed to be at the front desk with a warm smile and excellent assistance. We enjoyed drinks once at the Seven Spirits Bar, two breakfasts, and a dinner at BG’s Grill—each experience was wonderful. Well done.

We stayed for 5 nights at the hotel and it was a really nice experience. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff are all very polite. We really loved the use of the ski room by the front entrance and the little details like the 007 locker. The front desk staff were all so helpful and kind. We also thought the bar served incredible drinks and had a great selection. I would absolutely return here and recommend the hotel to others in the future.

We recently spent a couple of days here for our anniversary in a luxury room with Eiger view - this was a free upgrade from the hotel which was just so nice of them. The room was simply stunning and just so cozy, the view from the room and corner balcony is breathtaking. Two very friendly staff members personally delivered a hand-written personalised card and a plate with sweet delights to our room on the second day to congratulate us on our anniversary. This was done despite us only being able to come to Grindelwald after the actual date of our anniversary and made us feel very special. The room was very clean and the minibar restocked every day (included in the price). The breakfast, especially the veggie, fruit and seeds/nuts options were fantastic. Very friendly and attentive staff. Especially the one male staff member who we unfortunately did not catch the name of. Tall gentleman, dark hair, probably french, who greeted us for breakfast daily was super friendly and brought us the best coffee every day. We wanted to tell him that on the last day and also get his name for feedback but he did no work that day, unfortunately. On check out we received a very cute little treat and had such a friendly send off that I was actually in tears on the way out of the parking lot as I was quite sad to be leaving and so very happy to have had such an unforgettable stay at this gem of a hotel in one of the nicest places I have ever been to. We really felt valued as guests and had the best possible stay, such a truly special anniversary memory. Thank you so much.

Amazing rooms and view, excellent and helpful staff. We got upgraded to a corner room and were very pleased. Central, yet convenient, quiet and peaceful location. Extensive breakfast buffet. Our only request for improvement would be to have more than just one vegan option on the dinner menu.

The hotel was amazing, the jacuzzi and sauna 90 minutes each day was a life saver.The view and location were phenomenal. The breakfast buffet was diverse and cooked very well. The rooms were very comfortable and felt very safe. The only reason this hotel doesn’t get a 5 star review is because of two slight hiccups that were a little inconvenient, one night for a few hours we didn’t have have hot water in the bathroom, and when checking out we were over charged by accident. Nonetheless, they resolved both issues very quickly and were very customer service oriented.

We stayed here twice. Once in a Junior Spa Suite 405 and once in a Junior Suite 905. The hotel consists of two connected buildings. Depending on the room, the rear building also offers nice mountain view, but the distances are longer (separate elevator) and the building looks older. When the weather is nice and you don't have much luggage, you can walk from the train station to the hotel (8 Min). Otherwise, ask the hotel for a free pick-up service. The hotel has a large underground car park (subject to a charge).||Our Junior Spa Suite 405 was in the front building, and the Junior Suite 905 was in the rear building (Haus Wald). I would request a room in the front building (where the reception, restaurant, and bar are located). What we liked: |+ Modern, renovated hotel with stylish furnishings|+ private sauna in the spa suite|+ Cozy lounge/bar with fireplace|+ Delicious breakfast |+ Just a few minutes' walk to the Firstbahn|+ Close to the center, yet quiet as it is away from the main road|+ Food & drinks in the bar area|+ Welcome Prosecco, sweets in the Spa Suite|+ Great view in the Spa Suite|What we liked less:|- Very dark rooms and inadequate lighting |- No welcome Prosecco/sweets in the Junior Suite (even though the room was more expensive than the spa suite)|- Practically none of the staff speak German|- No bathroom amenities such as cotton buds, cotton pads, etc.|- Small spa with no free access (you have to reserve a slot for a maximum of 90 minutes)|- Too expensive for what you get|Would we choose this hotel again? Probably not, due to the dark rooms and the high price. There are other modern hotels in Grindelwald. But we recommend a visit to the bar. However, the bar is very popular and often full.

I stayed at Bergwelt Grindelwald Alpine Resort, and I have to say: this hotel changed my entire experience of Switzerland. I was having a truly terrible day yesterday, some locals were racist towards me and it was very disheartening. The team here—especially Thomas and Sabrine at the front desk, and David the shuttle driver—completely turned everything around for me. Their warmth, kindness, humor, and genuine care were unforgettable. They were sweet, uplifting, incredibly helpful, and went far beyond what anyone could expect from hospitality staff. Because of the three of them, I walked out of the hotel with a huge smile and a full heart. They truly rekindled the warmth of Switzerland for me. Bergwelt Grindelwald is stunning, but it’s the people who make it extraordinary. Thomas, Sabrine, and David are absolute gems, and I’m so grateful for the light they brought into my day. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel—not just for its beauty, but for the amazing people who make it feel like home. The food was also phenomenal! The views are breathtaking! The room was superb!!!
