Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel

This place is beautiful and the staff very accommodating. Our bellhop Juan was very friendly and gave us prompt service. Check in was easy and the staff very knowledgeable. Coffee is great in the little Cafe and food is spectacular in every restaurant. All the servers were so nice and helpful. My favorite one was Dimitri. He was so sweet and good to us. He took very good care of everything we needed. He gets five stars for his attentive service! I definitely will be back to stay again. Highly recommend this hotel.

The room itself at The Berkeley was clean, comfortable, and met expectations. However, the $90 valet charge was incredibly excessive. I’ve stayed at some of the nicest hotels around the world and have never encountered a valet fee that high—most top-tier properties don’t charge more than $60. It felt like a blatant money grab and definitely soured the overall experience. Would recommend transparency and more reasonable pricing going forward.

Need some work on hospitality and the refurbishment. Drapes had holes on the sunblocking back. Made for an interesting sunrise. Vents in room were pretty dirty on the inside. Staff didn't seem to want to hold our bags for an hr until check in. No room for the bags or something ? This was after the valet said they could hold the bags. I throw the guy a good tip, and all of a sudden my new best friend. Guess I didn't look wealthy. We were an hr early and told the room was ready. Awesome! Then told it would be 200 we could check in early.

Decided to do a day trip in Asbury and we stumbled upon the Berkeley and decided to book it. We got there at 11:30 and did early check in (fee). That being an option is amazing. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and even the guests were so nice! The dogs were so quiet. Quick walk to the beach/boardwalk. Great food downstairs at the shoreline and at the pool. Would definitely return.

Definitely an old hotel, but nicely renovated. We came for a concert at The Stone Pony, and it was an easy walk from hotel. Valet parking is expensive ($90/day) but was OK by me so I don't have to carry luggage. Pool area is nice. Limited umbrellas, but cabanas available for purchase. There is a bar and food service. Typical NY prices, but everything was good. My favorite was the hummus platter. Bar doesn't have a blender, so if you want frozen drinks you're out of luck.

The location can’t be better, easy walk to everything I need. Lucky to get a corner room, three giant windows with open view and sunlight! Services are perfect too, from front desk, bellman to housekeeping, I always get a big smile! The only thing I want to recommend is to check how fast the elevator door closes. A few times I had to wait for the next one… 😅

Spent the weekend at the Berkeley. Perfect location to the beach. Laura the GM was the most hospitable person I’ve ever dealt with at a hotel. The servers at the pool were so friendly and very attentive. Stacy & Marlene were so helpful with the cabanas and towels. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was amazing!

Overall hotel is nice but the carpet in our room smelled. There is no free parking. You have to pay meter parking or valet which is $90! Crazy expensive. Meter parking wasn’t bad at all we ended up paying $25 for our time but can add up if staying at asbury beach. The beach is very conveniently close. We ended up leaving in the am and going to another beach. Overall good experience.
