I really thought I loved living here--the location is great, and the management team seems really nice. That being said, phone calls almost always go to voicemail, which can be frustrating. But the real issue? The ridiculous fees.
We were recently charged $200 for electricity and water in a one-bedroom, one-bath unit. When we asked for a breakdown, we found out that we're paying:
* $20/month for community electricity
* $20/month for community water
* $30/month to take out our own trash (without a valet service)
We also found out that our actual water usage for just our unit was $20 for the month. That's $70/month in extra fees on top of already high rent. And every few months, we seem to get an email about another fee increase. At this point, you can't really say the complex offers amenities when residents are essentially paying for them separately--especially when some of them aren't even services.
To be fair, the maintenance team is great--they get things done within 24 hours, which is a huge plus. But the cost of living here just keeps climbing, and it's honestly getting out of hand. The fact that we have to take out our own trash and still pay $30 a month for it is insane--imagine what the company is making off of every resident.
Bottom line: The staff here is wonderful, but the company's greed is pushing people out. If you're considering moving in, be prepared for constant fee increases.
Update: Parking is another major issue. The only guest parking is on the first floor, but since that's also the only parking available to first-floor residents, they understandably park there--leaving virtually no spots for guests. To make matters worse, the nearby church tows, and there's no system in place to regulate or tow residents who take up guest spaces.
Honestly, if I lived on the first floor, I'd probably park there too for convenience. But it's incredibly frustrating when you're trying to have a small game night or gathering and there's zero parking available. If you plan on having friends or family over, make sure they arrive before 5 PM--otherwise, they might be out of luck.
UPDATE: LOL this place is such a joke. I put in a maintenance order for two lights that are on my bathroom and they say they only replace appliance lights and ceiling lights and that they do not replace the vanity lights that are on top of my mirror that light up the literal bathroom. THIS PLACE IS SO CHEAP! Also, I used blue sticky tack on the wall as to not leave holes in the wall and the paint must've been wet at some point and never entirely dried because when I took the sticky off, took all the paint on the wall too. I asked them what could be done about this and they said I had to bring my own container to the front desk so they will fill it with paint for me to paint over it. LOVE spending over $2000 for a 1/1. Cannot wait to gtfo of here.
