Do not stay in summer. Do NOT Stay in Summer. The hotel doesn’t have AC, but that isn’t the problem. The problem is that you must sleep with the windows open (our room was 88°F) and the hotel has 4 restaurants at the bottom. So you have two choices: 1) Squirm in Heat and not Sleep 2) Listen to loud people and smell cigarettes all night and not sleep I asked my travel agent to see if there was something she could do, so she contacted the front desk and they brought us fans (this was a nice attempt). Then when the other room as part of our party (front desk didn’t know we were together) asked for a fan, they told them “we don’t have fans for guests.” So I guess because my agent called and put pressure on them they gave us fans, but not “ordinary guests” like the others in our party. So basically, they lied. They did have fans. Additionally our room was directly above their break area where the employees go to smoke at night. So, all night, smoke from employees coming into our room. The maids would come in and turn off our fans when they’d come in the room as well. So odd. Lastly, paid for express laundry service for same day service. Almost 48 hours later we received it (after finally asking where our clothes were). Listen- it’s a decent hotel in a prime location in literally one of my favorite towns in Switzerland if not even the world. BUT, they’re stingy and don’t want to go the extra mile to help their customers. Be prepared to feel gaslit if you ask about finding a way to cool off. Bummer.

The hotel’s location was very pretty a really peaceful environment the town has good branded shops for shopping but the only fall was that they didn’t offer any service kits like you won’t get toothbrushes, shaving kit, shower gel, or not even kettle they only have an espresso machine and number of staff was also really less.

We we're almost without a place to eat with two kids and we decided to take a chance at Bernerhof Gstaad! The staff and the food we're simply delicious and fresh! We had Fondue and I'm a bit picky with this one and it was absolutely perfect. One of the kids had schnitzel and french fries, all fresh and homemade. Next day we went to their Italian and the pizzas were delicious also as the tiramisu and the starters (Alps tapas).

Wonderful hotel in the heart of lovely Gstaad. Located two steps from the pedestrian street. Spacious room. Well maintained and decorated hotel with wooden architecture reflecting the nature of Switzerland’s villages. Offer free car parking within few steps from the hotel. Breakfast area is wonderful but menu is limited.

If zero stars were an option, I’d give this place just that. Unfortunately, one star is the minimum. On the bright side, thanks to this awful experience, we found an incredible hotel afterward—sometimes bad experiences lead to better ones. You’d expect better service with the owner present, but that’s not the case here. As the owner of the establishment and a seasoned adult, one would expect her to approach paying guests with professionalism and courtesy. A polite greeting, such as “Good morning, I hope you’re enjoying your stay,” would have been appropriate. Instead, her approach was aggressive and confrontational, immediately launching into an investigative mode. Criticizing and arguing with guests in front of their family reflects a complete lack of professionalism and understanding of how to manage guest relations. We followed all their guidelines for bringing our dog—called ahead, paid extra, and stayed in the specified room. Even during the booking, the staff seemed confused, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. What we didn’t expect was to be aggressively confronted by the owner herself in the morning, backed by a staff member acting like her cheerleader. The lack of synchronization and communication between the staff and owner is glaring—everyone gives conflicting answers, and no one seems to know what they’re doing. Honestly, I almost feel sorry for them, but I’m grateful this experience led us to a far better hotel. Let’s see how they respond, as they clearly don’t take constructive criticism well. Avoid this place—it’s just not worth it. UPDATE : Thank you for your reply. I’d like to clarify a few points to ensure there’s no misunderstanding. First, this review reflects the shared experience and sentiment of both myself and my husband. If my husband shared a laugh with the owner during the interaction, it was purely out of courtesy—not a reflection of satisfaction or agreement with the service. We knew we were headed to a better hotel and chose not to waste our time or energy being negative, unlike the approach taken by your establishment. Once again, thank you for demonstrating your inability to accept constructive criticism—it couldn’t be more obvious. Greetings from the Bougary family my husband and myself.

Charming hotel in the centre of Gstaad with onsite parking.|Check in was smooth|The rooms are nice and spacious with modern bathrooms and very comfy beds|Dinner outside on the terrace was lovely and had the best rosti in many years. Would advise to book the restaurant early as we missed out on our first choice although that was partly down to difficulties in communication (we don't speak German and the person didn't speak good English or French) and somewhat inattentiveness of the front desk person who knew we were deciding but chose to book a table for an outside guest right in front of us

I seriously can not recommend this hotel enough. It is truly lovely - homely, cozy, perfectly pitched decor. But by far the winning factor - the phenomenal team. Courteous, multi lingual, natural, kind, efficient. And to boot! They clearly enjoyed their work and took pride in it. Kudos to the owners for valuing and motivating their employees!

Perfectly located 50 meters from Gstaad station and next to the promenade, this family run hotel has many advantages.|Large rooms, very comfortable with a nice view for those oriented towards the Palace. Well equipped bathrooms. Largest culinary offer on Gstaad from bistronomy to local dishes , not neglecting a Chinese and an Italian restaurant. All of them well ranked in the yellow guide. Nice south facing terrace in Summer. Indoor swimming pool and a private fumoir for cigar lovers. Smiling and Professional service. Very reasonable fares for Gstaad, both for the rooms and for the restaurant including a fabulous wine list.
