If there were an option there would be no star. We will give the star to the wait and cook staff. The manager and owner of this establishment have completely abdicated their responsibility as leaders. This is not a matter of being “short-handed” or overwhelmed—this is a failure of ownership, accountability, and basic management. If you hold a leadership position, you should be fully knowledgeable of every role in your business and prepared to step in competently when needed. Instead, what we witnessed was upper management deflecting blame and sacrificing their own employees to cover for their incompetence.
They claimed to have an updated 86 board, yet critical items were not communicated, leaving the waitstaff uninformed and set up to fail. To make matters worse, blame was then shifted to the cooks—despite the obvious fact that cooks and servers do not order food. That responsibility lies squarely with management. Rather than owning their failures, the owner and manager chose to throw their staff—people who should be able to trust them—under the bus.
The result was heartbreaking. Employees were visibly upset, crying, discouraged, and humiliated over circumstances entirely beyond their control. Some of these employees were minors and should never have been placed in such a hostile, negligent situation. While management smiled, laughed, and helped themselves to food, it was the patrons who were left comforting and encouraging the staff. After two hours, we canceled our meal and paid only for our drinks and appetizers—not out of anger toward the staff, but out of respect for them.
We have frequented this establishment many times in the past and always enjoyed it. That ends now. As long as the current owner and management remain in control, we will not return. There was no leadership, no organization, and no respect shown for the people who keep this business running. As a former waitress and bartender, and as a parent, I am appalled. If my child were employed here, this treatment would absolutely be addressed.
I am typically a peacemaker—but this experience crossed a line. This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Not because of the staff—but because of management’s ignorance, laziness, and complete failure to lead.
