We stayed in Bern for 6 hours and spent most of the time in this museum which I feel is still not enough. There are four floors with collections and presentation together cover historical and cultural aspects of Bern in a 360 way. The Einstein sector is of course very impressive, but the rest part is as good. One young man from the archeological sector gave me a 5 min introduction about the recent project they’ve been working on, and the passion of these archeologists is inspiring. History is more alive than we thought it is, waiting to be reignited. Free tickets for Swiss Travel Pass holders.

Allow plenty of time for this interesting museum! You certainly don’t have to pay for all the exhibits (tickets vary), but the current Bronze World exhibit is outstanding, well worth your time. Quite a strong collection just within that one exhibit! The Einstein floor will take at least 90 minutes, more if you really explore it thoroughly. There are several wonderful sections on mezzanines between floors as well - but if you allow time and take your time, you’ll learn so much about Bern and Switzerland through a fabulous collection. My only complaint is the lack of space allotted to earlier civilizations in the area. I found this to be the case in other history museums as well with the exception of the Zurich History Museum. These groups were an important part of the history of each region, yet the emphasis is clearly on the Middle Ages. It would be nice to see more space given over to the previous inhabitants.

This museum is amazing...it is like going inside a labyrinth of kwoledge...at every corner you can find another invisible room. Very special feeling about "Compulsory Welfare Measures" ... A place to cry about what has been done and remember to avoid it in any other future.

The museum is excellent. It covers many topics, like the French Revolution, early history of Bern, ancient civilisations like ancient Egypt and modern history, including topics like WW2, post-war development, etc…. There’s also a special exhibition on the social welfare history of Switzerland. If you’re interested in both ancient and modern history and social issues, this is the museum to go to. One can spend around 2 to 3 hours here

Great experience, nice for kids as well. My whole family enjoyed the visit so much that we didn't realise we stayed so long the museum had to close.

Einstein’s exhibit was a highlight in all of Bern. We didn’t make it to the rest of the museum because we wanted to take it all in. Informative, easy to follow, and very memorable! Wish we could have stayed longer! TIP: good for rainy days! TIP: get the audiobook!

Fascinating museum that rich in information and very preserve artifacts. Very informative and attentive staffs. Fee is 16 CHF for adult and 100% cover by the Swiss pass. It is larger than it looks. Spare a few hours to go through 5 floors. Comprehensive info. They provide audio guide as well. We didn't have enough time to finish every thing ; hence, it is on our bucket list for next trip.

Albert Einstein museum is a must visit place for all Einstein fans. It is the best collection of exhibits and life journey of Einstein I have seen in my life. Right from his parents, family background and birth in Germany, moving to Switzerland living in Bern and Zurich and later migrating to USA. Entire life of Einstein is presented in a well organised way. The infrastructure of museum is stunning and navigation is easy. Entire 2nd floor of building is dedicated to Einstein and entry is free with Swiss Travel Pass. A must visit place in Bern. This museum also has another section in the same building about History of Bern city if you are interested. Note: This is Einstein museum and not Einstein home. Both are different. His home in Bern is located near Bern catherdral on other side of river. Use Google maps to locate. I would suggest to skip that place and come as there is nothing to see in Einstein home.
