This place offers a great selection of cakes, all rich and flavorful, with a variety of options to choose from. The coffee and tea selection is also good, making it a nice spot for a break. Service is friendly, and the atmosphere downstairs is cozy. However, the upstairs seating near the toilet can be unpleasant due to the smell, which takes away from the experience. Prices are on the high side, even for Copenhagen, which might not make it the best value, but if you’re looking for indulgent cakes, it’s still worth a visit.

Google
We wanted to visit Bertels Salon, as the place has the reputation of the best cheesecake in Copenhagen. Unfortunately that put the bar really high, and for us it generated high expectations - which they didn’t really meet (sorry to say). I mean, the cakes are ok, but nothing exceptional for our taste. We tried the Chocolate cherry, the Bounty and the Blueberry Vanilla - the third was the best. Chocolate cherry is huge. Bounty looks half of the Chocolate cheery in size, but just right. The place is in an old townhouse, has its old charm. Worths a visit - although a bit pricey.

Heard about this place on the podcast Off Menu. So had to give it a try. Superb cheesecake, a great selection to choose from and all with lovely, friendly service. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Google
Only address for homemade cheesecake! You understand that your cake is prepared daily and totally homemade. I love berry one! You can sit in front of the shop and watch people when enjoying your dessert 🍰

Google
such a lovely, cozy dessert place with a warm, homey atmosphere. the cheesecakes are absolutely delicious, rich but not too heavy. they also have a gluten-free option that’s so, sooo good! that’s probably my favorite - with the lemon meringue as second favorite.

Google
Cheesecakes are really tasty. Sometimes portions feel small for the price but overall they always taste good. This is their Dubai pistachio cheesecake and it was amazing. I think the service could be improved. To speed things up, perhaps having separate queue for people that just want cheesecake and a cold drink Vs people who want cheesecake and a warm drink that needs more extensive preparation. Also the service didn't seem that friendly neither of the times I visited so the one less star is due to that.

Google
The cheesecakes were really good, although not the best. There are many varieties, and the caramel one was very delicious. Not too sweet. That's a good thing 🙏

Google
Very nice cafe with a great selection of cheesecakes and coffee. Interesting cosy interior. Great place to stop by for coffee and cake.

Yelp
We spent a large amount of time looking for a place to have coffee and dessert after dinner on a Saturday. Bertels Salon was open until 10 pm (a real plus--because most coffee shops and bakeries seem to close early). It's located in a lovely area right near the downtown shopping area. We had Lemon Curd cheesecake and Chocolate Ganache cheesecake (both delicious)--and the barista even made us decaf cappuccinos. I highly recommend this great find in Copenhagen!

Yelp
Amazing cheese cake and cute building to enjoy eating it in. Yummy. We popped in after a meal out.

Yelp
This truly is the best cheesecake you will ever have. My friend and I came here three nights in a row! They kept selling out of the flavors we had to come back and hope to get one of the more popular ones. Cherry Black Forest: 8.5/10 I personally don't like Cherry and chocolate together, but I thought this was really good. Extremely creamy and light. Strawberry rhubarb: 8/10 Not my favorite flavor in general but the rhubarb was super fresh. This was the last slice of the whole day. Oreo: 11/10 Yes yes yes yes. If they have this flavor, get this flavor. It's as good as you would think! All their cheesecakes are so light and creamy and have very good flavor. Great place to stop by for a midday pick me up or dessert. They close late at night and have plenty of seating. Super nice staff too!

Yelp
Visiting friends in Germany who happen to live near the border of Denmark; so of course they had to show us around Copenhagen. The cheesecake at Bertels is amazing! It is light and packed with flavor. I recommend pairing it with prosecco they sell in small bottles. I ordered the chocolate genache, which was on the rich side compared to the others, but I wanted chocolate and cheesecake and this was a slice of heaven to satisfy my craving. We also sampled the tiramisu and pecan/caramel varieties. They were also delicious. The staff was very kind and the atmosphere is adorable. I would definitely comeback. Chai latte and cortado were also yummy. Thank you for a great experience! :-)

Yelp
Amazing cheesecake but comes with a high sticker price. Cheesecake is smooth and extremely light with just the right sweetness. Drinks are average with an above average price tag. No menu other than a small board which only a few can see at a time. Hopefully the high prices afford a permanent large menu of the cakes.

Yelp
The cheese cake was simply superb! It deserves a good 5 star, period! The coffee was ok, but already above average for Europe so I'm not complaining! The venue was a big small so you really have to squeeze and fine a spot, but just adds to the closeness. I had the almond cheese cake, kinda get the best of all worlds, where on one hand you get almond chocolate cake, combined with their traditional cheese cake!

Yelp
I've never seen a place in CPH with more cheesecake variations than Bertels Salon, but the hype will be disappointing for my Americans out there who've been to Cheesecake Factory. Tip: NO CASH. Card only. Warning for tourists. Price: 55dkk per slice. It's a fairly sized cake (can be divided in 3 even parts for sharing), but at 55dkk, you'd expect larger. We each had a couple bites and were suddenly out 220dkk. Cheesecake: we had the black forrest, cookie, strawberry oreo, and cherry gingerbread. The black forrest and strawberry oreo were the perfect amount of sweet; the soft texture melted perfectly with the crumbly crust. The cookie didn't taste like anything distinctive - it was like ordering a classic cheesecake. The cherry was made with artificial sauce, so it was too sweet and it didn't mix well with the gingerbread flavoring. Seating: plenty upstairs, but it's a busy place so easily out of luck if you come during the evening.

Yelp
'How much is that cheesecake in the window...?' They have over ten different cheesecake flavors in this cafe, and I got myself a slice of the key lime cheesecake. It's made with what tastes like a graham cracker crust, a light cheesecake layer and a sweet tangy creamy layer of key lime sour cream/whipped cream combination. There's outdoor seating where you can grab a blanket and people watch if you wish. Super yummy and I kinda wanna come back for a second slice...

Yelp
I definitely love cheesecake, so I was excited to try this place when I stumbled upon it. They have a window filled with so many delicious looking cheesecakes (and other cakes too) that it's hard to choose just one. I ended up choosing a classing strawberry cheesecake with a cup of coffee. The strawberry cheesecake is very tasty. Not the best I've had as far as cheesecake's go, but it's definitely good. I'll definitely be back to try some others! It's a cute location as well, and cozy to sit upstairs with a friend and chat with your cake & coffee.

Yelp
This place used to be the place that I went to whenever I wanted a slice of cheesecake, but not anymore now. My friend and I went there in an afternoon because we were craving cheesecakes. She got the mixed berries and I got the black forest. Both cakes had ZERO taste. It was mostly something out of Philadelphia tub, only with colour and decoration on top. I'm sorry, but I have never had a cake this bad before, especially those that came with a price of 55 kr per piece. I regret the experience so much, I wish I had spent my calories quota somewhere else. Avoid this place!

Yelp
I'm a huge cheesecake fan, and this place did not disappoint. A little pricy but that's to be expected in Copenhagen. The iced coffee was good, and coffee the cheesecake selection was larger than I expected. Both cakes I tried were great, and I would have definitely returned to try more had I been staying in town longer.

Yelp
Huge let down. I've had far better cheesecake at cafes in Copenhagen that don't even specialize in cheesecake. The texture is what threw me off. It was just way TOO airy. Almost like a mouse. Also the crust was so meh. The crust was hard and didn't have the soft texture and sweet taste I was looking for. You know when you're eating something and it taste so bleh that you ask yourself why you are wasting calories on it? This cheesecake is exactly that. Don't believe the hype for this place. The woman handling the food was sick and coughing all over the place too. If you're coming to work sick and going to be handling food, please wear a face mask. The 2 stars is for the super cute nook in the stairs to sit and eat the underwhelming cheesecake.

Yelp
Great Cheese Cakes in a fabulous setting, checkout the size of the toilet!!! It is in the longest pedestrian zone in the world....

Yelp
We happen to love cheesecake so when we walked past the entrance to this place we couldn't resist going in. Had a regular coffee and a cookie-cheesecake to share. We definitely loved the cheesecake! Very creamy and fresh. I could do without the whipped cream on top but that is just because I don't like whipped cream :-) The interior is cozy with a cute seat half way the staircase as well. It got pretty crowded while we were in, with some people leaving for lack of seating.

Yelp
55dkk for a piece of cake. 28dkk for drip coffee and 10dkk more if u want a refill. It's a little price and totally worth it! Coffee is ok, but the cake is really amazing! So it would be nice to get a cake to take away and go grab a nice cup of coffee from whichever your favorite store is in CPH and sit somewhere beautiful and enjoy! Definitely gonna go back again!

Yelp
If you want to get a cheese cake in Copenhagen, you should try Bertels Salon. Yes, they are pricy but the pieces are huge and they taste well. I have visited them a number of times.

Yelp
I'm not a big sweets person, so it's understandable that I just can't get that excited about cheesecake. I ordered the key lime pie and it did have a sour bite (I was hoping for more), and the expected topping of sweet meringue. Also tried my friends' cheesecakes. Everything was very good. I think if you're super into cheesecakes, you'll love this place. One major negative is the cramped space and service. You have to order downstairs and carry your own trays up to the tables. This may take more than one trip, if you ordered both cake and tea/coffee/drinks. Some of the tables are also particularly cramped and small (once you sit down, don't expect to get up unless you want to disturb your entire table and the one next to you).

Yelp
Sometimes, something is the center of so much hype, that it is absolutely impossible for it to live up to that hype (the most recent Star Wars movie is an obvious exception to this rule). I think this is what happened to Bertel's and their cheesecakes. A friend of mine and I were having lunch nearby, and decided to pop over to Bertel's for coffee and dessert. My friend went with a passion fruit cheesecake, and I with a cherry/vanilla version. And they were good. Very, very good. Rich and full, though not overly heavy (though they do fill you up something fierce). So why not the four (or even five) stars? Well, first of all, the service. They were busy, yes, but the service felt a bit too cafeteria-like. The price-to-experience ratio isn't entirely in their favour, either. But ultimately, the three stars is due to the fact that I simply lacked something, a je ne sais quoit. Maybe it was the hype.

Yelp
Man, the Danes sure do know their cheesecake. Bertels was recommended to some fellow tourists and I by an expat tour guide as the place to go in Copenhagen for cheesecake. I can't say he was wrong. Having just been to the good ol' Cheesecake Factory chain here in the US several days prior, I feel like I had an excellent basis of comparison. First of all, there's a flavor for EVERYONE. Stone fruit, exotic fruit, chocolate, you name it. My new pals and I each got a different flavor with a cup of coffee and let one another taste a sample of each other's. We unanimously agreed that, yes, this was indeed excellent cheesecake. Creamy, not *too* sweet, and with a good crust. I got the cherry, which was just the tiniest bit sour and not saccharine-sweet. It was delightful. The downstairs space where you order is tiny; you need to go upstairs to get into the real space. (It appears as though when the weather is nice, they have outdoor seating as well. It was a pretty miserable day when we went, so there was none to be seen.) The staff was friendly and patient with us as we hemmed and hawed over our selections too. A must-try in Copenhagen if you like cheesecake!

Yelp
Stopped here on our walk around the city for some dessert, so far the tastiest cheese cake I have ever had! I had Oreo one and my gf had a Blueberry Absinthe one, both super delicious complete with some rose port wine, and all at a very reasonable price. Would recommend for sure, friendly service and delicious desserts, what more can you ask for?

Yelp
This cozy coffeeshop is one of my favorite places in Frederiksberg/CPH. Their homemade cheesecakes are amazing, the pieces are generous and there's so much choice! My go-to is the key lime cheesecake. Just perfect along a nice cup of chai latte, for an afternoon of studying or hanging out with a friend.

Yelp
A delicious variety of fresh cakes along with organic refreshments, teas and coffee.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to stop by for coffee when in Copenhagen. They also have amazing cheesecake! I have been to Copenhagen several times now in my travels and I always find myself coming back here. I really like how the seating goes upstairs and you can look out the windows. They just have a super cool atmosphere and really nice staff. Defiantly a must to visit if you are in Copenhagen!

Yelp
The richest cakes ever, I'd recommend sharing! The cafe is a bit funky, and not in a good way. I couldn't stay for long. Luckily we knew what we wanted, and ordered quickly, because we noticed the server being quite impatient with indecisive customers. Quite a mixed experience, and with all the gleaming reviews id recommend trying a slice (to go). Perhaps we just had a bad experience, but with lots of options nearby, I'd definitely chose to go elsewhere in the future.

Yelp
If you're craving something sweet in centrum, this place is a good bet. It was a sunny day so of course we wanted to sit outside but all the tables were taken. Luckily there are more tables upstairs so we got to sit by an open window and watch people walking below. We got a slice of Irish coffee cheesecake to share as well as two glasses of rosé. The cheesecake was pretty good and VERY filling! I doubt I could have eaten a whole slice myself. I don't have much of a sweet tooth so this experience was okay for me.

Juulia K.

Yelp
I ordered a caramel&licourish cheese cake. Wow this was the best cheesecake in my entire life.

Yelp
When I found out there was a cheesecake place i Copenhagen, I HAD to check it out ESPECIALLY when they had licorice cheesecake! Of course it is a bit pricey, but they are a speciality bakery with some great choices. I can't wait to go back and try them all and have gladly been bringing all my girlfriends here so they too can experience it.
google avatar

Matthew A.

Yelp
The cheesecake was wonderful, but they do tend to run out early so get there sooner rather than later. They only accept credit cards, so make sure you've got one. The drink selection is also quite delicious.

Yelp
Bertel's was recommended to us by an expat tour guide and it deserves every commendation. The cheesecake slices (we got chocolate ganache and raspberry brownie) were enormous and incredibly delicious.
google avatar

Cami G.

Yelp
I dreammmmmmmmmm about their cheesecake. The black forest cheesecake is mouth wateringly delicious. If you are in Copenhagen you can not pass this place up! It's a must!

R Z.

Yelp
Cheesecake was fantastic. We had the Oreo and raspberry vanilla. The Oreo was great. The raspberry was more sour than we expected but I still enjoyed it.

Yelp
Nice cozy atmosphere.. Good for one on one talk but not really if in a larger company.

Sabrina D.

Yelp
Excellent cheesecake! We have cheesecake often and the slices we ordered, berry and traditional, were some of the best we've had. They were fresh, had a good crust, and were fluffy! A great spot!
