Berthelot Hotel

Very nice place to stay. Near the center, very quiet, clean. Very good breakfast and very friendly workers. We shall visit it again, no doubt. 4.9/5.

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of Bucharest and still I could find parking space for my rental car nearby the hotel at all times. Rooms are clean, spacious enough and breakfast was on the better side of the average.

Great value for money. Rooms were a good temperature, TV had many english channels, water was hot and powerful. Rooms got cleaned regularly. The breakfast did what its supposed to and set you up for the day. Usual bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, toast etc alongside some fruits, cereal, cheeses and meats. Very limited but did the job nicely. The gentleman on the reception was very polite (older guy) and was happy to help, however the older receptionist lady was a bit abrupt and seemed a little ruder than the others (I only stated my own surname as it took me a while to understand that she was trying to say it, and her face was one that said "yeah, same thing") but this couldve been a language barrier. I know zero Romanian so it could just be my personal perception. Other than this, I have absolutely no complaints.

Perfect location - close both to the walk path and to the historical places. Very calm place. Breakfasts were super! Friendly staff ready to solve any problem.|But: beds are not very comfortable, solid and narrow, the same for blankets. Also showers water changes temperature randomly from almost boiling to almost icy each 5 minutes, no option to adjust and keep.

All 3 receptionists we dealt with were unhelpful off hand to the point of being rude. Having booked a twin room 3 months ago, we were late arriving due to a flight delay and stuck with a small double. Despite repeated reassurances from different staff members (who didn’t seem to communicate with each other) it was a real battle to get the room we’d booked. Breakfast was basis but adequate. The hotel is centrally located but impossible to get to by car at weekends due to road closures.

The room have a heavy smell of smoke and it was impossible to breathe. We tried to turn on the AC but instead of getting colder was getting hotter. The breakfast was excellent. As well we could hear the noises from the neighbor room having a very heated night.

Staff were very friendly and speed at helping. Great centre location. Maybe needs more plug sockets as phone was in only one next to bed. Highly recommend
