BERTON

We were looking for a place to grab a quick drink. We lucked out and were able to grab a couple seats. The food looked good but we were full. They had beer on tap and a nice glass of Txakoli. Great people watching.

Stopped by for a quick meal rather than the pinto and unexcitedly went for a steak and fries with a side of clams. The surf and turf combo didn’t disappoint. The steak was cooked to medium rare perfection with enough juicy blood and flavour to make every bite mouthwatering. The clams were suitably fresh, but they had a lovely buttery garlic sauce that made them taste great. We had a cheesecake dessert that didn’t match up to the mains but the restaurant is cosy and the service is warm, friendly and genuine.

What a lovely dinner!! We shared sea bass for 2, cooked perfectly. Our waiter was elegant and helpful. We shared a sparkling bottle of cava as well. Seems that this restaurant is frequented by locals and travelers. I cannot give it a higher recommendation.

We really enjoyed ourselves here, absolutely fabulous pintxos, beautiful decor, amazing atmosphere, lots of happy customers and friendly staff too, the pintxos were presented really well and tasted even better, we'll definitely be back, 5 stars, well recommended.

Berton is the best in old town. It has both a bar and restaurant sections for different needs. The beef steak is a must and has different options for sides. All of them are delicious. Services in restaurant we experienced is second to none. Highly recommended.

Can you see the meat? I also had difficulties finding it when using the knife. And this for over € 20. The overall 3 stars is for the friendly staff and the good sirloin steak my husband enjoyed. For my non existing lamb chops the rating is -1 star.

If you want good Pintxos go here. This is in old town Bilbao lot of local people eat here. It’s famous for grilled meat and steak. But we had calamari and did not regret it. It was so soft to bite in to which is very hard to find I hate chewy ones Wine was good too

Finally, a place that sells Paella Pinchos. It’s a chicken and vegetable version so perfect and well priced.

Old town Pintxos bar and restaurant with tons of character. We were on a walking tour that included Berton for Pintxos and wine. It was a delicious stop and a look back into the history and culture of Bilbao. It was busy so service was typical of the leisurely Spanish experience. We could have stayed much longer and will return on a future visit. The Pintxos were beautiful & flavorful.

Some of the prettiest pinxos on the street and we felt reasonably priced. This comfortable bar is easy to locate in the historic center and your money will be well spent here. This is not a serve yourself bar so be sure to let the server know what you would like and they will dish it up for you. We will be back.

We happened in here 2 weeks ago while hiking the Camino Norte. Great pintxos, the best rabas(calamari) and vino. We'll be coming back tonight for their bistecca, a 1kg t-bone on a grill at your table for 33€. Update tonight.

This was the best pintxos bar we went to in the old town and we looked at a lot. We had some food and beer. There was lots of people standing around the bar eating the snacks and drinking beer. There was also a sit down more restaurant area. There is a wide range of pintxos on the bar and you can order other food from the menu if you want something bigger. Good atmosphere good people worth a visit.

This place was incredible. We tried many places but this was by far our favorite and we went multiple times. Highly recommend it for pinxtos.

Great tapas! It is in the Casco Viejo section of town. Perfect place to spend the late afternoon drinking beer and sampling the delicious food!
