Yelp
I love Haitian culture... from the food, music, people, language, I indulge in it all! On my side of town, this bakery is the best for Haitian baked goods, and patties!
Expect it to be a hole in the wall like most Caribbean restaurants. Do not expect 5 star decor and presentation, however expect 5 star flavor!
The patties are soft, buttery and flaky with lots of meaty filling in the middle. This is a plus! If you know anything about Haitian patties... the joke is that it's all crust and no meat! Expect when you bite into these patties to taste the flavorful filling. They have beef, chicken, smoked herring, and saltfish patties. They are all good. Only $1.05 for each patty.
Their homemade breads (hard dough bread) is also very good. Tastes great toasted with butter and a cup of tea or coffee in the morning.
Best of all, the Haitian cake! I love it. Not too dense and dry. Very flavorful, you can taste the notes of spices, the essences of vanilla and almond, its moist and fluffy. You can get it with or without icing. Only $2.79 a slice. They also sell it as a whole if you pre order it.
You can also purchase Cremas (Similar to Baileys or Rum Cream), peanut butter, crackers, and other Haitian sweets, delicacies, and baked goods.
I am here at least twice a month for the patties and cake! It's always good! Never a bad day! Sometimes you have to wait a little because its packed, but it's well worth the wait!
Disclaimer: please dont wear lipstick while eating these patties, the flakes will stick to your lips Lol. And, dont eat it in your car unless you plan on vacuuming the same day!
